This year marks the Star Fox series' 20th anniversary

The problem with Assault, other than the shitty non-Arwing controls, was that even in its best moments it merely copied SF64. It didn't do much to evolve from what SF64 established. I think for us to see a real return, someone would have to go back to SF64 (which holds up remarkably well) and use that game as a base from which to develop.

As much as 64 is heaps better than Assault, 64 can only dream on mimicking Assault's multiplayer and music.

Been a huge fan of the series since the SNES and it's annoyed me greatly to see how it's been treated since Adventures (which, despite not being a very good Star Fox game, was an alright Zelda-like and had that usual Rareware tech charm). I would love for Ninty to do more than just stuff half the cast into Smash Bros iterations

Tangent: Zoness' stage theme might be one of my favorite pieces of in game music ever.

*High Five.*

I was so disappointed when I listened to the soundtrack I got from EB games way back in the day and this song was missing. I prefer the N64 version to the 3DS one actually.

Same thing happened with Ocarina of Time and Gerudo Valley.

Star Fox has historically been a franchise intended to sell people on a gimmick or piece of tech, and since Nintendo needs to better sell people on the Wii U, it's only natural that we'll see a new Star Fox game at E3.

We probably won't

I want more F-Zero and Star Fox games. I can't wait for Star Fox's anniversary to be celebrated like Metroid's =P

Star Fox SNES: I remember struggling with this game as a kid, I'm not sure why. I only played so I could get the early game-over levels like the slot machine. I played it again on around middle school and had much more fun. The stupid gibberish was so bizarre that it became amazing.

Star Fox 64: Bow before your lord and master. It's just amazing. "I CAN'T STOP IIIIIIT"

"Ahhh...someone wants to play!" Yes...I would like another game like this.

Star Fox Dinosaur Planet: The story and game idea seemed pretty fun, actually. The execution of it was just off. It was strangely colorful, but not totally offensive. Even if you're confronted with a horde of General Scales cronies, only one will attack at a time, and you don't need any combat sophistication to win. It's mostly easy except for weird spikes of frustration (trial of fear or whatever) or massive tedium. Fuck Tricky. I don't hate this game, but don't remember it particularly fondly either. With much polishing, I would not mind another entry like this.

Star Fox Assault: This just felt...weird and all over the place, all of the gameplay styles. I didn't end up beating it. The whole Aparoid Pigma thing was just strange. Sometimes it felt like I was playing a GC Star Wars game, with drawn out objective-based missions. Panther is kind of cool.

Star Fox Command: Damn. I didn't like this game.

Star Fox 64 3DS: Didn't play. =P

Yeeeeeeeees, more respect~

I used to have every line of 64 memorized. Haven't played it in years though, so I wonder if it would all come back to me...
