Its interesting though, at least one side of the USA is progressive and always tries to move forward. You have entire countries with a conservative system in some cases all bad.
I don't see how we can continue to be a dominant superpower with this many losers in our country. Immigration has probably just slowed the inevitable but I imagine pretty soon the smart people are going to start going to other countries and then the collapse of the American Superpower is going to accelerate.
I live here so I am saddened and shocked to see it, but we brought it upon ourselves.
I grew up with Obama as the face of the US. I was aware of the US dark past ( what developed country doesn't have one?) and more recent stuff like the Irak war and so on. But Obama gave the US the look of progress and heading to the right direction.
It's a fucking disgrace what's going on over there considering this is the most powerful nation in the world. To see privileged white people complaining about minorities taking their country from them is so pathetic and disheartening. I'm not even surprised Donald Trump got elected considering the underbelly of the US is a fucked up place.
In a way, I'm glad all these racists are coming back into the limelight because it's the only way you're going to get the majority of people talking about those issues. Those beliefs needs to be eradicated.
You guys are the richest and most powerful country on earth. You've got everything going for you... How is it possible to squander all that potential and turn into a shitshow like that?

Shit sucks but to be honest I'm sick of all the US politics threads in Off-Topic. I think at this rate there should be a seperate board for politics discussion.
I'm taking a history paper on GAPE and some of what I'm learning is pretty alarming when thinking about the modern day U.S. My lecturer is from the U.S. himself and he seemed pretty shook in this week's lecture. It's pretty easy.
Just have the rich people have the poor people fight each other.
Been happening that way since the birth of this country.
Why change now.
As someone from SE Asia, I'm feeling sad that the US is turning into a 3rd world country.
And like another poster has mentioned, America has everything, so the fall from greatness in such a short time is kinda shocking. I'm thinking the last time I thought the US was awesome and a real superpower was under Reagan. It all went downhill after that.
