Sounds something like from Star Ocean, an upbeat battle theme which I like but the compression seems kinda terrible. 7.5/10
Final Fantasy X - A Contest of Aeons - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mjpc3A4a0yc
Amazing. 8/10
time for something more epic and relaxing AND powerfull all at the same time
this one shot itself straight into my top 10 when i first heard it.
Atelier Ayesha ~Alchemist of the Ground of Dusk- Maria.
also check it out the entire soundtrack is made of awesome.
Solid 6/10.
Dural's theme from original VF and also the remix is included as well.

REMIX/Fighter's megamix.
7/10
Cool theme, but loops a bit too quickly.
I'll see your VF song and raise you THE BEST VF song!
Virtua Fighter 5 R - Wolf's Theme
Reminds me of the type of track that would've been played on the opening/credits of a football programme, or Match Of The Day's Goal Of The Month. Perhaps a 7.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed - Adder's Lair/Golden Axe Stage
I always really hated that battle track in Paper Mario: TTYD, and that happens to be one of my favorite games of all time. Just feels disjointed and honestly, to me, like a lot of unattractive noise, with no solid hook and imo doesn't even do a particularly good job of hyping one up for the battle. 4/10.
Final Fantasy: 4 Warriors of Light Main Theme
I like a lot of FF themes but this one just didn't quite do it for me. Admittedly I haven't played this one though. 6/10
Ar Tonelico 3 - Exec Cosmoflips
Eh kind of blends in with a lot of the 'anime-inspired' theme songs I encounter in a lot of Japanese games with anime art style, but I guess if you're into that sort of thing... 5/10
Fez - Adventure
Not sure it's something I'd listen to when not playing the game but it fit very well with the game and this track alongside a few others helped to impart a very calming mood to the game's atmosphere. 7.5/10
Metroid Prime - Tallon Overworld 2
6/10 Something in this feels like exploring alien places. Like it.
Command&Conquer March To Doom
That is, Tiberian Dawn, the first one.
The track title is pretty indicative of the track itself, here. Makes you feel like someone important just died. This probably works a lot better in the context of the game, though. It's a little bland to just listen to. 6/10.

Shinobi (PS2) - Transfiguration
9/10
A very calming and ethereal sound that holds up for the majority of the ensemble. Though it becomes a bit one note when set to repeat.
Apple Jack 2: Last of the Sun
The song is very calm and peaceful, and quirky as it seems. 7/10
Final Fantasy XI - Ronfaure - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clld-gFL050
8/10, i like the way diferent instrumentals are added in slowly. The vocal effect is also pretty cool.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=q5aZgVsEmEo
Probably my favourite hitman soundtrack from all the games so far.
Never heard it before but I like it. Sounds very espionage-y. 7/10
Seven Force Theme from Gunstar Heroes
No description needed, I think. Easily one of the best boss tracks out of the 16 bit era.
It has a good theme going for it but is marred by how many instruments are attempted to be emulated at any time. It become a bit comical trying to distinguish chiptune rock and roll mixed with police siren sonic bubbles.Never heard it before but I like it. Sounds very espionage-y. 7/10

5/10. It sounds like a boss theme to me. I can imagine actually playing the game would have much more an impact on your opinion of the piece though.
Anyway.
I've gone through the whole thread and I'm extremely surprised I havent seen Dragon Quest VIII OST on here. It is, honestly, one of the best orchestrated OSTs I have ever heard. I havent even played the game. Damn.

Dragon Quest VIII--- Sky, Ocean, and Earth
9/10 Such a great piece of music. I've not played much of the Dragon Quest series but I've loved the music I've heard and this is probably my favorite.
Here's Destroyed Skyworld from Kid Icarus: Uprising
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEnDMF-z6-0
That's pretty bad ass. Sounds like it should be in Final Fantasy, but I've never played Kid Icarus Uprising. 8/10
Odin Sphere - A Hard Fight and then Hope
I'm big into boss battles and Odin Sphere hasn't been listed AFAIK. This is more in the theme of the thread than chiptunes.
I have no idea what kind of game Odin Sphere is, but I like this. 8/10.
Ghouls'n'Ghosts C64 Stage 1. Tim Follin was an absolute genius and could really make the SID chip sing.
Sounds fine, although I think I'd prefer to listen to the Genesis version. I wonder if its's any different. 7/10

Love this song. It's my favourite airship theme in the entire series.
The beat in the background that kicks in around 20 seconds does it for me. Very uplifting - the shift in amount of freedom you get at that point in the game is enormous and this music really got me feeling good. Haven't heard it in years actually, so thanks for posting it
One from me: Banjo-Kazooie - Gruntilda Battle
Fantastic game, fantastic track. Catchy as hell too, I remember singing it all the time as a kid.
9/10
Since we're on a nostalgia trip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHr-1xmk-Vw
Sounds 90's. I always enjoy various variations of synth together with a bit of ambient sounds. This track also reminds me of The Sims Build mode. 8/10
Suikoden II - Reminiscence - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSSEcgooY-I
Having not played Suikoden II, i am guessing this track plays during a flashback or some kind of aftermath scene?
It started off a little slow and predictable, but i liked the vocals that appeared mid-way through. It's not a track that i think is particularly easy to listen to standalone, especially without context of having played the game. But it fits the scene i am picturing in my head very well.
7/10
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - Prologue
I dunno, I liked it at first but it got repetitive fast. 5/10.
Blackhawk - Intro
Or Blackthorne, as it was known in the States. This Blizzard-developed tactical shmup was just dripping with atmosphere - some of this was attributable to the beautiful graphics, but it's the music that really makes it.
Never played that game before but it looks frickin' AWESOME. Music was good and fits the scene well. 9/10
Continuing with the old school Blizzard games:
Warcraft II - Human 2
5.5/10 'Tis all righty. Warcraft 2 has never held an important place in my hearth, Starcraft and Warcraft 3 on the other hand...
Let's continue with Blizzard and Warcraft, with one of the best main themes there is, in my opinion of course.
World of Warcraft Original Main Theme, Legends of Azeroth
8/10. Reminds me vaguely of DKC's water music.
Tekken Tag 2: Extravagant Underground:

I have never heard this but I actually really enjoy it. Thanks for sharing! 8/10
Mega Man X - Storm Eagle Stage
I guess I'll post in this thread just once. I've been gettin' some pokes and prods to do it. What happens is that I take a while to make my posts, so while I'm posting about one game track, someone else may swoop in and post something else, so that's why I haven't done so before. I like being thorough, you see.I have never heard this but I actually really enjoy it. Thanks for sharing! 8/10
Mega Man X - Storm Eagle Stage
I like the spread of instruments included in this, actually. Lots of stuff we don't usually see. It's something that I liked the Rayman Origins' soundtrack for. So we get a drum which provides nice backing, a gentle didgeridoo which doesn't overtake the piece, and the saxophone's melody is incredibly relaxing. I also enjoy the growth of the piece in general.Machinarium: The Robot Band Song

I enjoyed that a lot, actually. Thanks for sharing. 9/10
