Thread of rate the above gametrack .

It's pretty epic sounding although unfortunately the theme/motif isn't that memorable to me. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up playing Star Fox? 7.5/10

Catherine - William Tell Overture (Rossini) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsuJth9FXec

From someone that has yet to play Catherine, I still found that to be pretty enjoyable. 8/10

Hotline Miami: Vengeance

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4sm6l0ul4k

While this song isn't in the game itself, I believe it was on the official soundtrack and was used in one of the promotional trailers.

Brilliant. 10/10

I'm hearing Command & Conquer, Blood Dragon and Mass Effect all rolled into one. Reminds me that i need to find time to play Hotline Miami sometime.

Street Fighter IV - M. Bison's theme

I know that it's nice in the game, but I always found the harmony and percussion boring. It's punchy, but after it plays once, I'm done with it. I really like the plinky-plonky melody, though. 5/10

Dang it.

Tetsukazu Nakanishi is GENUINELY classy. The structure of the song is found in a lot of video games, but it works and is just different enough to be very interesting. The chord choices are nice, the percussion keeps it lively, and the bursts of emotion in the brooding work. Also, horns. I love horns. 8/10

Sounds grandiose and very RPG'ish, kind of an interesting take on that theme. Not really doing too much for me honestly though. 7/10

Kimera II from G-Darius

A solid 8/10 definitely for adding to the atmosphere but I would say there are quite a few moments and tracks in mgs2 which top it.

Halo ODST: From the Ashes. One of Marty's best tracks. Only 3 minutes long about, not required to listen to entire track.

Sounds nice and melancholic. I didn't expect something dramatic in Halo (but then again, I never played Halo). 8/10

Final Fantasy XII - To The Place of the Gods - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ2rw-VDwfA

Start was a bit aggravating but it really picked up after that. Definitely stuck in the 80s, but a nice slice of audio nostalgia. Some good arrangements that remind me of numerous other soundtracks of the time.
7/10

Something a bit more 'menacing' from me this time:

F-Zero X - Fall Down to the Scream

It's kinda noisy, I mean like pure noise. It's not my kind of music though. :( 6/10

Final Fantasy XIII - The Archylte Steppe - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuKX8Ppk02E

As always, wonderful work from Kikuta. It's both airy and majestic, with more than a few melodic hooks that do justice to the interesting arrangement. Bells, chorus, and piano work so well together, especially with that sound-font. 9/10

Off of my channel: Doshin the Giant - Yellow Giant.

Relaxing song that strangely makes me want to go to a beach. 7.5/10

More Akira Yamaoka awesomesauce.

Silent hill 4 - tender sugar.

I miss TEAM SILENT. :(

Also if any off the mods read this :

feel free to post your favourite song also as this thread is for everyone :)

Still the best version of the manliest tune Shimomura has ever produced. Wonderful guitar sound, slap-bass badassery, and none of those tacky trumpets that lack oomph. 10/10

I knew that Guile Theme would get 10/10.
I remember when someone asked what would be GAF's theme music, and Guile Theme was the first post (i think?), and absolutely most suggested track.

EDIT didn't listen the above track, no scoring, next one continue from that... naturally...

We shouldn't repeat IPs too often, but it's inevitable.

Also: Virtual On: Cyber Troopers - Into the Blue Sky [H.] Arrange Ver., since we gotta keep it going.

I've not played this game. Really liking this though - very upbeat and catchy. Was it a Dreamcast game? Reminds me of music from that era, and the bright colours of games like Sonic Adventure.
9/10
Arcade, Saturn, and PS2. It's the definitive blue-sky song (blue-blue skies get Sky High instead).

Are we allowed to post others from previously posted series's?
If so:
Cornered 2004 - Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations

It's a great song but i prefer later renditions over that particular version. Doesn't sound quite as 'dramatic' on the DS :(

Metal Gear Solid 2 - Yell, Dead Cell

Nice boss song, not as memorable as others from the Metal Gear series 7/10

Freezing Atmosphere (long version) - beatmaniaIIDX 10th Style

Mixed feelings. Music itself is pretty good, but vocals... eh, don't like.
Also, the name is kinda odd, since the track itself seems kinda positive, warm.
5.5/10 perhaps.
And yes, i'm kinda stingy with scores
EDIT how should i say it, i have strong standards for what i actually think as really good (7, 8) or excellent (9). Perfect score i won't be giving out (10). Same applies to things i don't like, i can appreciate some things in most songs, even if i don't otherwise like them.

Star Control 2 Hyperspace (Precursor Mix 3)

Sounds like a decent old school track and very environmental. Although not as catchy as the others that I've heard. 7/10

Final Fantasy VII - Anxious Heart - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMvHTlWyxH0

Hard not to like it, since it develops well, benefits from its in-game context immensely (I haven't played the game in a while, but it was the church, right?), and provides thematic material for a character. 7/10

Mario Artist Talent Studio - Po Pi Pa Pi
This would be perfect for a mini-game. This track is so... Mario. Starts off a bit grating, but once it picks up it's pretty cool. The weird phone sounds remind me of the Game and Watch stages from Smash Bros. 7/10.

Star Ocean 2 - Field of Expel

You tug at my fuckin' strings, Ult. This is the standout tune from FFX's soundtrack. Brilliant usage of dissonant bells, a unique progression aided by delicate piano, and percussion both unnatural and strangely attuned to the natural ambiance of Besaid. 10/10

Alien Soldier - Soldier's Song

Starts off weak but the composition becomes more atmospheric and space-y like astro boy or metroid. 7/10

Megaman ZX - Sky High
