Three in August - Backlog Days of Summer

Here mine :

Okami HD (PS3)
Getting into lvl 85 in WoW on a private server (currently 70) which is still a challenge for me
Divinity Original Sin with a friend

PC
Diablo 3 - I feel like I've already put 20 hours into this, but really it was only about five 2 months ago. I really loved those five hours and want to get back into it again.

Wii U
Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze - I would have beaten this shortly after I got it if I wasn't such a completionist, as such I get stuck on a level for hours trying to collect every collectable.

X360
Mass Effect 3 DLC: Mass Effect 3: Citadel & Mass Effect 3: Omega -Done!

Bonus Games
PC
Thomas was Alone - It's only 3 hours and I love the narration, would love to finish this one.
The Wolf Among Us - I play an hour of the first episode and lost my save. I haven't touched this game since, I hear the only way to play this season is all at once.

Current Backlog:
- Watchdogs - Probably finish this one first, I've got night shift at work coming up so I'll have tons of time on my days off to get it done, hopefully before D3 comes out for PS4...
- Strider - Haven't started yet, mostly wanting to finish watchdogs first before I do.
- Pokemon Y - I deleted my old save of Pokemon X so my step daughter could play it, now I'm starting over.. Man I wish the 3ds had a savestate when it runs out of batteries, I've restarted this gen's Pokemon like 4 times so far at different points and am losing my patience. I need to save more apparently :(.

Ok for this month I plan on finishing :

PS4 : Killzone Shadow Fall
PC : Darksiders 2
PC : Battlefield 4 campaign.

Seems realistic, I can't play before the 11th of august as I have to finish my thesis, but I'm halfway in Killzone, Halfwat in Battlefield 4, and 2 thirds of Darksiders 2.
Might add another game if I finish these in time.

Here we go! On my plate for August:

  • Knack (PS4)
  • The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4)
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns (3DS)
  • Borderlands 2 (PC)
  • Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition (PS4)

Finish:
- Muramasa Rebirth
- Shovel Knight
- Dual Destinies DLC Case
- Bravely Default

Start:
- Dragon's Crown
- The Witcher 2

Also I should play some more Mario Kart 8.

1. Shovel Knight (Wii U)
2. The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4)
3. The Walking Dead: Season One (Vita)

Bonus

4. Ryse (XB1)
5. Watch Dogs (PS4)

I'm scared that if I don't play these before Destiny comes out I may not go back to them for a LONG time.

i'm shooting for:

watch dogs (ps4)
strider (ps4)
the last of us (ps4)

bonus:

i'll be doing some travelling for 6 days at the end of the month and taking my 3ds along so i'm hoping to get through at least one of these during that time:

zelda: a link between worlds (3ds)
donkey kong country returns (3ds)

Dragon Quest
Dragon Quest 2
Grand Theft Auto III
DMC

Dragon Quest was awesome. Dragon Quest 2 seems long, hoping to have it done by the end of the month, but maybe not.

Hopefully I can make up for my lackluster showing last month.

August:
Marlow Briggs
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
Shadowrun Returns

1)Heavenly Sword (PS3)
2)Ninja Gaiden Sigma + (Vita)
3)Quantum Conundrum (PS3)

Bonus:
DmC (PS3) - finished on August 1st
Kung Fu Rabbit (Vita)
Yoshi's New Island (3DS)

Finished Heavenly Sword, got all the collectibles on DmC and started Quantum Conundrum for PS3

Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge
TLoU: Remastered
Danganronpa
Ys: 1

Finished Ninja Gaiden 3 RE this week giving TLoU RM a little break. Still working on getting the Plat for TLoU and that'll probably take me a good chunk of this month.

I imagine I'll get 3 done by the end, but it'll depend how long it takes me to get through Grounded.

What is your opinion about NG3? I heared many negative opinions and I'm curious.

My August list:

X360
Bayonetta

PS2
Black

3 game didn't decided yet, so probably:

PS3
DMC 2 hd
or
Ninja Gaiden 2 (if I'll buy it)

or

PS1
Tomorrow Never Dies

Kirby Triple Deluxe [3DS]
Earthbound [Wii U VC]
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap [Wii U VC]

Aside from Kirby my backlog is all virtual console stuff. Haven't gotten to any of them yet since I've been working on a Skyward Sword 100% run on Hero Mode. Just need one more sidequest before I can go ahead and beat it.

- Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories
- Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
- Kid Icarus Uprising

BONUS

- SMT: Devil Summon Soul Hackers

FINALLY finished DKCR the other day. Great game, but it was really frustrating at times.
Working my way through Kid Icarus now and I gotta say it's pretty amazing. I don't know why I didn't play it earlier. It goes by really fast too I'm already on Chapter 8

Just got platinum on Infamous. Next up is Blood Dragon, since I'm trying to save The Last of Us for my vacation later this month.

  • Infamous: Second Son
  • The Last of Us: Remastered
  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

- Halo: Reach (X360)
- Inotia 4(IOS)
- Bioshock (PC)
- Chronus Arc(IOS)

Swapped Dokuro (IOS) for Bioshock(PC), which I got DRM free from the recent humble bundle. Great, great Game, first time I ever finished it - as always this thread is doing wonders for my backlog :-)

Just posting because I'm rocking the backlog this month:

Shatter (steam)
Shelter (steam)
Rogue Legacy (steam)
BIT Trip runner (steam)
Metrico (Vita) - okay not quite backlog

Metrico is a complete joy, should come downloaded on all new Vitas.
BIT Trip was a F'n nightmare on the last two stages, pushed my frustration tolerance to the limit! Nice to have an actual tough game though.

Next up? Maybe Rayman Origins? or RE: Revelations

Finished Watch Dogs!
Many people give this game a rough time and to some extent rightfully so. In enjoyed it despite its problems. After 2h I didn't bother anymore with the open world and just did the story missions. The story itself isn't that interesting. Looking forward to see what they'll change for the sequel. Oh boy, they've got a lot to change. :)

Now I think I'll focus on Pokemon X which I've already played about 20h a few months ago. I could try to finish Papo y Yo but I feel like I've seen everything there is to see about this game in its first hour.

Also started Dust an Elysian Tale and it is fun but I don't think I'll continue playing it. I recently finished 1/2 of Muramasa and already had enough off that style of gameplay. The characters being rabbits and all is also... well not my cup of tea.

Picross E4
Bit.Trip Runner
Link's Awakening DX: An interesting experience; I've only played the original version, so seeing the world in colour is quite a pleasant change. It's largely coming back to me, but it's somewhat surprising how I've forgotten large chunks of it. 4 instruments down at the moment.
Trip World: Okay, a bit of a cheat option, given that this game is *ludicrously* easy. But it's kind of adorable, too, in its own way.
Baldur's Gate: Years and years ago, I had one go at this, played it for a long time but never really felt like I had a handle on the combat, and gave up when I reached a fight I couldn't beat. Fast forward to now, and I'm up to Chapter 5, feel much more comfortable in combat... and have a nagging feeling that I might, in fact, have been right at the end of the game when I gave up. OOPS!
I've used a little assistance, in part because I personally think the first Baldur's Gate isn't too good at shepherding you gently towards sidequests. I'm not really asking for big glowing exclamation marks above peoples' heads, but there's an awful lot of quests that are only found by entering random houses on the street, and that's a bit bizarre... particularly when they're locked, but the people inside are friendly and send you off to run an errand for them. Is this better in BG2?
Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7: Waiting in the wings, here, ready as a palate-cleanser for after Baldur's Gate. Although if I'm working strictly chronologically, I should be going for Pirates of the Carribean instead... but I've not seen the films beyond the first, there.

Bastion
Banjo Kazooie
Braid
Batman Arkham Asylum
Fable Anniversary
Perfect Dark
Deadlight
Zoo Tycoon
Assassins Creed IV Black Flag

I completed the first 4 in 4 days, I'm away next week from my Xbox(s) so I won't be getting anything done there. Im going to try and plough through Perfect Dark and Deadlight on XBLA before then though if I can. Im having a good month so far.

I'm going for a crazy goal this month: Playstation only, going to tackle as close to 10 games as I can get.

The list, probably in order:
The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4)
Valiant Hearts (PS4)
Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4)
Hohokum (PS4)
God of War: Ascension (PS3)
Beyond: Two Souls (PS3)
Infamous: Festival of Blood (PS3)
Counterspy (PS4)
Steamworld Dig (PS4)
Infamous: First Light (PS4)

Plus continuing my time with Titanfall (Xbox One) and Forza 5 (Xbox One). Plus will be getting Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition (PS4), though given the size of the game and coming out on the 19th it'll be very doubtful I'll finish it.

That sounds like a lot, but I think it's doable!

Nearly-halfway-through-the-month update!

I broke my Playstation-only rule, but the heck with it! I'm on a roll again, and will definitely hit 9-10 games finished this month.

So far, it's been:

The Last of Us Remastered + Left Behind (PS4)
Valiant Hearts: The Great War (PS4)
Proteus (Vita) (Three times, for trophies)
Fable III (Xbox 360) (That one has been sitting on my hard drive since it was first part of the Games with Gold thing)
Steamworld Dig (Vita)

I'm level 49 in Titanfall (Xbox One), so over today and tomorrow I'll hit level 50 and become second generation, which will be "complete" for me. Still up:

God of War: Ascension (PS3) (An hour in so far)
Counterspy (PS4)
Infamous: Festival of Blood (PS3)

I'll also be playing Hohokum (PS4) but now that I've put some time into it, I don't know if it's really a game you can finish. Or that I can do all of the tasks in, more like. I'm also working my way through Forza 5 (Xbox One), but it's a massive game. Hoping to put as much into it as possible before Forza Horizon 2. And then there's Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition (PS4) next week, which is huge and will eat time till Destiny, I'm sure. So yeah! I'm playing some games!

(Sorry for the ultra long post)

A friend and I are wondering whether PT would count as a game for the purposes of this. I would probably, as it doesn't seem like it would be from SH. But I wouldn't count it as a game for GOTY list purposes...Hmmm...

DKCR will probably be my third game this month.

Got through Blood Dragon; much shorter than I originally thought. Been playing mostly Guild Wars 2 and Fire Emblem Awakening over the last few days, since I'll most likely save The Last of Us for when I'm on vacation at the end of the month.

  • Infamous: Second Son
  • The Last of Us: Remastered
  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Bought The Wolf Among Us season pass for just over a fiver in the PS Store sale yesterday so have started making my way through that, could probably get that done in the next day or so.

Couldn't bring myself to spend another ÂŁ40 on The Last of Us on PS4 but all the hype did get me in the mood to complete a New Game + playthrough on the PS3. Also finally got round to playing through Drake's Fortune, the only game in the series I had never got round to finishing, partly because it's cheap as all hell on Hard.

Grabbed a couple other PS3 exclusives in CEX that I've missed over the years (God of War, a couple Ratchets), and also looking forward to Garden Warfare on PS4 next week...

PC : Divinity Original Sin
PC : Skyrim - yes, I have devoted myself to not screwing around with the sidequests and all that junk and just finishing the game!!!!!
PS4 : Fez or Strider, will try to finish one of those

My August list:

X360
Bayonetta

PS1
Tomorrow Never Dies

PS2
Black

PS3
DMC 2 hd
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

Finished Bayonetta, yesterday. Oh boy, this game is fu#@#@# amazing! I've played in many slashers, but Bayonetta is the best for me. Great game. Great lady in black. :) Deep, hard and very good combat system. I am delighted.
So 1 down, 2 to go. Still can't decided which game I should start next. Probably Black or DMC2 hd.

BIT Trip was a F'n nightmare on the last two stages, pushed my frustration tolerance to the limit! Nice to have an actual tough game though.

Oh man I love the Runner games so much. If you haven't had the chance, you should definitely check out Runner2. It's much more polished, has more content, has an amazing soundtrack, and is actually less difficult overall than the original.

Nearly-halfway-through-the-month update!

I broke my Playstation-only rule, but the heck with it! I'm on a roll again, and will definitely hit 9-10 games finished this month.

Damn, good to hear you're well on pace to accomplishing this crazy goal

A friend and I are wondering whether PT would count as a game for the purposes of this. I would probably, as it doesn't seem like it would be from SH. But I wouldn't count it as a game for GOTY list purposes...Hmmm...

DKCR will probably be my third game this month.

I think it should count. These threads are meant to be really flexible, plus there's a bunch of other games out there with similar length to completion.

I feel like I'm doing pretty well this month.

So far in August I've beaten:

  • Metro Last Light (Steam)
  • Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition (Steam)
  • Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness (PS3)
Next up is Neverwinter Nights 2 (which is going to take a while) and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

1)DmC (PS3)
2)Heavenly Sword (PS3)
3)Quantum Conundrum (PS3)
4)Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (PS3)
5)Metrico(Vita)
6)Ratchet and Clank (Vita)

Bonus:
Kung Fu Rabbit (Vita)
Yoshi's New Island (3DS)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma + (Vita)

Updated

I think I need to stop for a while :/

1. Spelunky
2. Ace Attourney: Dual Destinies
3. Wolfenstein: The New Order

And that's Wolfenstein: The New Order beaten also. Really good game.

Bam ! Finished BF 4 campaign, not good, but not bad either. Could have been better easily.

What is left is Darksiders 2 and Killzone Shadow Fall.
I might also finish Motorstorm RC on Vita and The Darkness 2 on PC.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Finished it with almost 100 stars. Will go back to collect the rest.
Wolfenstein: The New Order - Around half-way done.
Metroid Fusion - Replaying it after 10 years. Almost half-way through.

Catherine has been in my backlog for years, I think this month I'll finally start it as well.

Mario Galaxy 2 - All 120 stars collected (not bothering with the green stars)
Metroid Fusion - Finished it last week.
Wolfenstein: The New Order - Finished it today with 61% completion.

As if that wasn't enough, I'm gonna finish another 3 games before the month ends.

i'm shooting for:

watch dogs (ps4)
strider (ps4)
the last of us (ps4)

bonus:

i'll be doing some travelling for 6 days at the end of the month and taking my 3ds along so i'm hoping to get through at least one of these during that time:

zelda: a link between worlds (3ds)
donkey kong country returns (3ds)

so, i'm still playing watch dogs. haven't touched anything else. part of it is that i've been doing a lot of the side stuff in watch dogs. i'm not looking to plat the game, but i'm going to have practically all of the trophies by the time i'm done. there's a few that i probably won't do.

the other thing is that i ended up getting really busy with work. both at my job and then on a side project i decided to work on with a friend. i'm still hoping i can knock out one the 3ds games on my trip or maybe even both. i've heard albw is not that long. not sure about dkcr.

my backlog is ridiculous at this point and with everything that's about to start coming out for the fall rush i don't see it changing any time soon. i guess that's alright though. it's better to always have something that you want to play than sitting around wishing there were games out you were interested in.

How was Metrico? Long? Hard? I've got it sitting on my Vita but have no idea if I actually want to play it.

Veeeeery short. There are 6 levels, from 15 to 30 minutes long each.

Overall it's not hard, there's a handful of puzzles that might be tough but not really hard

BTW finished R&C, now I'm playing Edge on 3DS in the spare time. Fine game, but the controls require some practice. I don't think I'll start any new game until late September due to exams...

Will probably finish more by the end of the month, since i'm on vacation come next week, but i'm not doing too bad atm:

  • Infamous: Second Son (beaten, will probably play again going evil)
  • The last of Us: Remastered (at half more or less)
  • Diablo 3 UEE (level 17)

Will probably add more next week

Picross E4
Bit.Trip Runner
Link's Awakening DX: Completed. Somewhat disappointed with the bonus colour dungeon - the part I'd not played before - in the end, but the rest of the game was as solid as I remember it.
Trip World
Baldur's Gate: I believe I'm right at the end; definitely going to finish it this time. I've got the main storyline up to the final section, I believe (In Chapter 7,
Sarevok has fled to the tunnels under the thieves' guild
), and have detoured into the expansion pack content, where I've just finished the big dungeon in that expansion. I believe I've got some expansion pack business left to contend with, and then I'm off for the final showdown.
Monument Valley: Fitted this in after Link's Awakening since it's not terribly long. There's some brilliant creativity and visual design here - the "Box" level in particular stood out wonderfully - although the actual game isn't all that challenging - in many cases there's few enough options to explore that the actual next route is pretty apparent pretty rapidly. Still, I was charmed like crazy, and that's no bad thing.
Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7: Not going to start, because...
Watching all the Pirates of the Carribean Films
Lego Pirates of the Carribean: Yeah, I splurged. I was increasingly annoyed that I'd played some of the Lego games out of order, and didn't want to propogate the issue any further.

X360
Bayonetta

PS1
Tomorrow Never Dies

PS2
Black

Finished Black on PS2 few days ago. Geez this game was hard. Real hard. Old games with checkpoint after 20 or 30 minutes of gaming are not so funny.
I started TND on PS1, yesterday. Fine game, but you can play only on d-pad. :)

After a few months of being too busy to finish some games, I'm jumping back in. Beaten Super Mario 64 fully a bunch of times, but never did collect all the stars on Super Mario 64 DS. Started awhile back from scratch and got all 150 last week. Already beaten two this month and hoping to finish a third.

Super Mario 64 DS
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (3DS)
The Walking Dead: Season 2 - Episode 5

PS4:
Rogue Legacy
Valiant Hearts
Oddworld New 'N' Tasty

Finally finished Rogue Legacy. It was decent. Will probably take a break from it before jumping into new game+.

Mortal Kombat 3
The Wolf Among Us: Episode 2
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky

The 2nd episode of the Wolf Among us really pissed me off at the beginning but i got over that fairly quickly. Solid episode all around, and MK3 is MK3.

I'm about 22 hours in to Trails in the Sky, so I don't know if i can finish it before the month is out. I just need to complete it before Destiny.

Really got into Fire Emblem and ended up wrapping that up with Lego Batman 2. On vacation this week, so I should at least get through the Last of Us, since I'll only be away at the end of the week.

  • Infamous: Second Son
  • The Last of Us: Remastered
  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Bonus:

  • Fire Emblem: Awakening
  • Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
