Three in January - Backlog out of Hell

- Covenant of solitude (IOS)
- Leo's fortune (IOS)
- Oceanhorn (IOS)

One down. Leo's fortune rates up amongst the best platformers on IOS in my opinion. Short but worth every penny.

InFamous: First Light, finished today. :-)
WalKing dead season 2, done :)
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Finished.

That's 3 less in the gigantic backlog.

Im going for :

Captain Toad
Bayonetta (wiiu version)
The lego movie videogame (coop with my daughter so might depend on school)

Edit update copied from 52 in year thread.

Update: game 1 Captain Toad Treasure Tracker beaten

Thoughts: absolutely charming, quite challenging little puzzle game from EAD. Level design, as you'd expect, is absolutely top notch and the fact you cant jump makes things like falling platforms more treacherous than standard Mario. Game is relatively short, in total I clocked up 21 hours on my WiiU but it will take most a lot less than that as my wife and daughter took turn about at trying the level before handing over the controller to do the bonus challenges.

Rating 8.5/10 - solid

I'm in, maybe I'll actually hit my target this month as I'm really enjoying what I'm playing at the moment!

1. The Witcher Enhanced Edition (PC)
Started it in 2013 but lost a save in chapter 2 so I've spent the last couple of days getting back to that point. Testament to the quality of this game that this has not been an onerous chore like I thought it would be!

2. GTA V (PS4)
About 20% done, couple of missions in on the third character and enjoying it way more than GTA IV.

3. Bioshock 2 (PS3)
Seems solid at the moment, only about 3 hours in though.Im enjoying it alot more than I did the first game for some reason.....

1. Dragon Age Inquisition (already in the meat of the game)
2. Sunset Overdrive (Haven't opened yet)
3. TLoU: Remastered (Almost done with my Grounded Playthrough, never played Left Behind)

Got the telltale bundle on the 31st so willing to smash through what i've got available.

1. The Walking Dead
Finished Episode 1 last night and really enjoying it

2. The Wolf Among Us
Looking forward to finally playing this.

3. Either The Walking Dead Season 2 or Borderlands/GoT

I've still got FC4/GTA5/MCC/AC:Unity and Sunset Overdrive to plough through.

January is looking exciting.

Just finished Dark Souls.

Dark Souls
Grim Dawn, as far as I can.
Transistor or Wolfenstein or RE6 or MGS: R

Can probably do four games but time and responsibilities always changing recently.

I'll do it,
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Assassins Creed Unity
GTA V PS4/X1
I've also got MCC FC4 and Sunset, rip collage

For me it'd be:
  • Far Cry 4
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall
  • Game of Thrones: Episode I

Problem: I'm playing FIFA 15 way too much to finish all three of them. I guess I'll finish Far Cry 4 with 100% and play Game of Thrones: Episode I. During that I'll be getting my perfect Ultimate Team together maybe.

MGS Peace Walker - I just need to make the last chapter, so probably this week is done.

Bayonetta - Played a couple of chapters, so probably in the middle of the game.

Bayonetta 2 - didn't even started it yet.

Will try

- Xenoblade Chronicles (already 100hrs in so should be done soonish) FUCK YEAH after 103hrs I am finally done. What a great game.
- Bayonetta 1
- Bayonetta 2

Bonus:
- Fallout 2

1. Danganronpa - I'm currently on the start of vhapter 5.
2. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep - I've completed Terra's story and I'm about half-way through Ven's story.
3. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax - I'm currently playing through the P4A DLC.

Failed miserably the past few months but I'll start the year on a good note.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes [PC] - Took me 2 hours to finish the main mission. Ending got me mad hype for Phantom Pain
Fire Emblem [GBA] - Got up to Chapter 12 last night. Really enjoying the story and gameplay

Still need to settle on a 3rd

Count me in!

- Grand Theft Auto V (PS4)
- Driveclub (PS4)
- Need For Speed Most Wanted (Vita)

A lot of driving this month!

1. Bayonetta
2. Bayonetta 2
3. The Evil Within

(My backlog is surprisingly small right now - about 10 games - hoping to keep it that way)

PC/Steam:
Crimson Clover: WORLD IGNITION

Xbox One:
Kalimba

NES/VC:
Faxanadu

First game of 2015 down and it feels fucking awesome. Totally LTTP on this game. Just finished my first 1CC of the game on Novice Difficulty on Original Mode with the Type-1 ship. I was only on my 3rd attempt too! Holy shit was it intense though. I haven't attempted or done something like this in a long time. Got to the final form of the true final boss with one ship left and at one point I had nothing and he was locked in this relentless assault of bullets, but I pulled through. I'm pretty content with my run, but I'll definitely give the standard Arcade difficulty a shot to see how I fair.

Looking to really clear some of my backlog and hope to get through more than 3, but will only make the commitment to finish:

Natural Doctrine
Bayonetta 2
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney.

My three:

Mass Effect
Captain Toad
FFX ( I'm more than strong enough to do the final dungeon but I'll class the platinum as complete)

I fully expect myself to achieve none of these and will likely just buy more instead.

Alright I think I'm up for this. I did the 52 games one last year, I'm going to go through this this year instead since I have less free time.

I'm in. This will be my backlog clearing year anyway: I'm not buying anything new until at least half of my backlog is played to completion (or in the event I come across a game that I JUST HATE, sold)

1. Broken Age (should be easy)

2. Fallout: New Vegas (about half way though so should be doable).

3. Kingdom Heats Final Mix (all that remains is the grind for Ultima Weapon and the the final world)

Alright, I feel pretty good about these three:

1. Dragon Age: Inquisition - I am 30 hours in, have no sense of where that puts me in the storyline.

2. Persona 4: Golden - By all accounts I am near the end of this one

3. Valiant Hearts - Just started chapter 2.

[PS3]The Witch and the Hundred Knight - Finished
[VC]Phantasy Star - In progress
[WiiU]Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - In progress

The Witch and the Hundred Knight is finished after 80 hours. I can't imagine how much longer it would have taken on the normal difficulty. It also has the honor of being my favorite PS3 game and probably the only platinum trophy I'll ever get.

I've had Witch and the Hundred Knight sitting around since launch. I played it for an hour or two and thought it was cool, but I dropped it and got distracted by other stuff at the time. Man, I haven't sunk 80 hours into something in awhile. Is it really your favorite PS3 game?

Yes, although it doesn't have that much competition since I've only just started using my PS3 on a regular basis. The game itself has some pretty major issues(including random crashes to the XMB) to be honest. It was really the story and characters that grabbed me along with the art and music. I haven't been this emotionally invested in game like this in a long time.

Alright, I'll give this a shot as (hopeful) motivation to clear out some of my backlog:

1. Pikmin 3 (Wii U) - This one ought to be easy as the game is pretty straightforward and I'm halfway-ish through the game.
2. The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4) - Again, about halfway through the game. Was thoroughly enjoying it but the holidays and work just took over and I sort of moved on to Smash and other titles. Need to finish it while it's still fresh.
3. Earthbound (Wii U) - My more ambitious goal of the bunch. Been meaning to get into it for a while, only made it an hour or so in once I bought it. Various sources of pressure making me feel like I at least deserve to give it the game equivalent of the first 50 pages.

3a. Child of Light (PS4) - If I decide Earthbound just isn't going to be beaten this month, I'll move on to Child of Light, where I think I'm about six or so hours from completion.

I want to get some more gaming in this year, so this sounds good. My goals:

1) Captain Toad
2) DKC: Tropical Freeze
3) A PC game - Tomb Raider (2013) or Mass Effect or FF7 (not likely to finish)

The difference between the amount of posts in these threads the last couple of months compared to this month is crazy! I love it. Anyways, after completing Zero games last month due to studying for exams and working everyday during the holidays, i'm ready to get some quality gaming in.

My three:

Hyrule Warriors - Wii U - I need to finally play this game. It has been in shrink wrap since release.

South Park: The Stick of Truth - 360 - Almost finished with this game (I think). Having so much fun with it so far! I can't believe I waited so long to play it.

LoZ: A Link to The Past - Wii VC - Been a couple of months since starting it, but I'm just too lazy to start up my Wii to finish it. Hopefully this month will be the month.

I want to finish some stuff soon so I can move on to new projects..er..games.

Final Fantasy VIII- I broke out my copy the other day and I'm about half way through the first disc

SMT: Nocturne Probably the long shot of the bunch. Never played it, haven't started it.

Infamous: Second Son- I guess I did pay for it.

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix HD (PS3)
The Wolf Among Us (PC)
Armillo (Wii U)
Persona 4: Golden (Vita)

Beat The Wolf Among Us yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Even prefer it to The Walking Dead S1.
Now playing Armillo. About halfway through World 2. 3 more to go so I should be able to beat that soon, too.
Will put Persona 4: Golden on pause for a few days. I love the game but after roughly 40 hours I'm a little bit exhausted.

Bayonetta 2 (Wii U) (started in early December; on chapter 12 or so; have been distracted lately)
Hitman Absolution (PC) (started last week)
KOTOR2 w/restoration mods (PC) (started in the spring; on hold ever since MK8)

EDIT: Already in trouble here. Apparently I somehow managed to lose my KOTOR2 saves between the last time I played and now. Was more than halfway through. Not sure I have the patience to start from scratch...

Yeah, what the hell, have had a bunch of issues with crashing in KOTOR2 with the restoration mod (1.8.3; maybe i should update to the latest 1.8.4?), and lost my (very early on) save again last night somehow. Anybody happen to have experience running through the modded version on PC? Any gotchas? Regardless, might have to give up on this one.

My three:

Hyrule Warriors - Wii U - I need to finally play this game. It has been in shrink wrap since release.

For the love of god don't buy the DLC then. The content just keep increasing exponentially.

Unless you only count finishing the stroy mode as beating the game. Then go nuts.

But wait, one of the DLC's includes an alternate story mode!

Yeah if completion is your goal stay away from the Hyrule Warriors DLC. I mean it's great stuff, but you'll never finish.

Let's go for it.

God of War 2 HD (currently half way through I believe
swinging between falling columns in the Lowlands?

Uncharted Golden Abyss (currently chapter 24).

Lego LOTR. Still within the FOTR storyline so a lot to be done on this!

Uncharted GA done. Not a bad title, but it is rough round the edges (and I'm not just talking about the aliasing), and the gameplay suffers from the more linear environments used. I did like the archaeology based optional items. Added a little more to just collecting treasures ala the console titles.

Completed The Expendabros and SteamWorld Dig: I highly recommend both, the former is free on Steam, the latter can be found for a few bucks and is a nice 3-6 hours game. Both are kind of straightforward though, especially Expendabros, which is more like a demo than anything else. More info here.

I jumped in with both feet I didn't care if I was gonna drown. I got the game for Christmas and then promptly bought the DLC pack for all the DLC. Did not care. I knew what was coming.

So I am currently playing Toad, HW, and Divinity II.

Divinity II has its claws in me deep. It's an older, flawed but fun game. Oh and Destiny.... effing Destiny. My goal is to finish Toad, and HW legend mode, and maybe Divinity II this month. That seems like a tall task.

Ocarina of Time 3DS- Going to feel good to finally have this one off of my back. Stopped at the water temple on N64 and Gamecube, but now I just need to finish Ganon's Castle.

GTA V(PS4)-Around 50% complete

The Last of Us Remastered

Overall, looking like a good start to the year.
