Three in January - Backlog out of Hell

Yeah, what the hell, have had a bunch of issues with crashing in KOTOR2 with the restoration mod (1.8.3; maybe i should update to the latest 1.8.4?), and lost my (very early on) save again last night somehow. Anybody happen to have experience running through the modded version on PC? Any gotchas? Regardless, might have to give up on this one.

If I'm remembering correctly, it's that the save is not being picked up by the game rather than it being missing from your PC. This happened quite a bit. As to the fix, I'm not too certain on that, though there are a lot of save questions and some answers in the Steam forum/discussion area about the restoration mod, hopefully it's there. A quick browse shows there are A LOT of issues, though it's still the best way to experience the game when it's running correctly.

Just got through Bayonetta 2! Was just as great as the reviews made it out to be.

  • Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna)
  • LittleBIGPlanet 3
  • Bayonetta 2

-Neptunia: Rebirth
-SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked
-Fire Emblem Awakening (still in shrink wrap)

I'll probably try finishing DeSu first as I'm already 4 hours into the game.

I pretty much only play games through PS+/PSN sales

Gonna try to beat these in January:
-Thomas Was Alone
-Walking Dead Season 1
-inFAMOUS Second Son First Light

Maybe the Swapper and Ducktales Remastered also.

May as well!

Attack of the Friday Monsters! (beaten)
Crimson Shroud
Tales of Eternia (getting near the end)
Bastion
Cthulhu Saves The World
Skyborn
Dust: An Elysian Tail
God of War: Chains of Olympus
Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 4
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
Devil's Attorney
Gemini Rue
Mark of the Ninja
Puzzle Agent
Resident Evil: Revelations
Total: 16

I don't actually plan on beating all these games, they're just a bunch of short games I own and I'm listing them so I have a choice in what to play next.

Natural Doctrine
Bayonetta 2
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney

Finished Natural Doctrine today.... one of the most unforgiving games I've ever played. One small positioning error and it's game over since all it takes is any character dying. However I have completed it and will never touch it again! Phoenix Wright i'm more than halfway through the fourth case so I should be able to get it done this week or next. Bayonetta 2 I can finally really get into now since I only play one handheld and one console game at a time.

I'm in.

1 - Child of Light / PS4

Currently on Chapter 10 which I believe is the final chapter in the game.

2 - Far Cry 4 / PS4

Played for two hours or so but was just messing around with the game. Will start a new game after I finish Child of Light.

3 - Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris / PS4

Haven't purchased the game yet and im pissed that I missed out on last week's sale but still planning on buying this game later this month at the same time I buy Citizens of Earth. Also have Mercenary Kings in my PS4 backlog as well. Hoping to complete all five games by the time The Order: 1886 comes out.

-Thomas Was Alone
-Walking Dead Season 1
-inFAMOUS Second Son First Light

Maybe the Swapper and Ducktales Remastered also.

Beat iSSFL today. I didn't expect it to be so short.

I'm in the crazy gravity part of Thomas Was Alone, and episode 3 of Walking Dead. I think I should be done pretty soon.

Good beginning of the month for me. After 34,5 h finished Driveclub, which I started last year. Great and very underrated game. With Gran Turismo series my favourite racing game.
I think 3 game in this month I'll beat without problems, so I add on 2 bonus games (2 x dlc from Driveclub).

PS3
PixelJunkShooter

PS4
Driveclub
Valiant Hearts

bonus games PS4
Ignition Driveclub dlc
Photo-Finish Driveclub dlc

Goals:
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix HD (PS3)
The Wolf Among Us (PC)
Armillo (Wii U)
Persona 4: Golden (Vita)

Beat Armillo. Started good, but some things didn't seem thought-out to me. Especially many later levels were difficult for sake of difficulty.
Now in December in Persona 4: Golden. Might finish it this month if I don't get the itch replaying it like everyone says.

An added Goal is Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails.

Edit.: In the quest to finishing my backlog I decided that Scram Kitty is my free shot when I have no intention to finish a game anymore. Might play it, when I have a game drought but atm I'm not enjoying it, sadly.

1. Bayonetta
2. Bayonetta 2
3. The Evil Within

(My backlog is surprisingly small right now - about 10 games - hoping to keep it that way)

Well, I didn't follow the list that I had originally planned, but I'm done 2 out of 3 for the month!

1. Swapper (PS4)
Highly recommend this game. No idea about it or what kind of game it was going in. It blew me away. Reminds me a lot of Braid. Beautiful music and game play. The perfect length and some really tricky puzzles.

2. Infamous: First Light
Am a huge Infamous fan, especially the most recent one. I decided to give this a go. I was pretty discouraged that I had to get points in the arena to get all the upgrades and the platinum. But after trying the arena I loved it and now have platinum in Second Son and First Light :)

My third game is a toss-up between Evil Within, GTAV and Bayonetta. Loving all three.

I already wrapped up Sunset Overdrive in the new year (been playing since October).

Hoping to take some smaller games on and start in to some of my Christmas games.

Aiming for:
- Super Time Force
- D4
- Start Far Cry 4 / Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker

I dont have a solid plan for this month, but my attempt will include:

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
Batman Arkham City
Batman Arkham Origins
Saints Row 4
Grim Fandango

Though i already beat Kingdom Hearts 2 on the 3rd, so i got one game done for this month already. I doubt i'll get Saints Row done since it comes out on the 27th, not leaving me much time. But the rest, i'll make a valient effort.

Guess for this month I'll go with...

Final Fantasy VII (Just got the Tiny Bronco and about to go do the Wutai sidequests)

Saints Row IV (I forgot where I was at, but I'll *guess* it's past the halfway point)

FEAR (Not started)

UPDATE...

1 - Child of Light / PS4

Finished the game this past Tuesday night.

2 - Far Cry 4 / PS4

Started this past Wednesday and early in the game. A lot of stuff to do as im going for 100% completion.

I'm going to try for:

LittleBIGPlanet 3
The Walking Dead Season 2
AC: Unity

This may be tough, because I'll have to play SRIV: Re-Elected/Gat out of Hell, Dying Light and maybe another game or two as well.

I beat The Walking Dead: Season 2, as well as Never Alone and Alien Isolation (which I borrowed from the library for a week).

I should've put the other two on my list instead of the two I chose, but I hope to beat Unity before its DLC comes out.

I'll give this a try, i have many games in my backlog but ill choose the most recent ones.
  • Senran kagura: Shinovi versus(With all schools)
  • Bravely Default
  • Dragon Age Inquisition

Thought I had posted before but apparently not.
Anyway, going well so far.

1. Assassin's Creed: Rogue
2. Syberia
3. Syberia II

PC/Steam:
Crimson Clover: WORLD IGNITION

Xbox One:
Kalimba

NES/VC:
Faxanadu

Finished Faxanadu for the first time tonight. Loved it so much that I may make a LTTP thread for it...

Will finally join this. The last part of 2014 was good for my backlog clearing purposes, I intend to keep this trend going. :P Subbed!

Finished BF4 Earlier last week.

Working on: Korra for PS4.

Next: ??? Maybe I'll scratch my RPG itch and finish Crimson Shroud.

I've already beaten 3 (soon to be 4) games this month as detailed in the 52 games in a year thread. But currently have extension goals of:

Bayonetta: Started today
Ace Attorney 2: As soon as I finish playing the last case of the first game

Just finished MGS:R, that story at the end was completely legit. Called out a bunch of BS and hypocritical stuff going on in the world today. Actually had me connecting and realizing a few things I had not before. THAT'S what an awesome videogame story can do. The rest of the plot/cutscenes were decent/nonsensical, music didn't help much either with that.

I'm already a few hours into Wolfenstein TNO and I want to take it slow to take in the world. I should finish it in another week or so, worth every kronor so far. Both these games have something off with either their environment or character models though.

Also started Grim Dawn, but I am progressing really fast and it's still months before the 3rd Act is out. I'm loving it so it's hard to slow down.

I beat Shovel Knight last night, and South Park a few nights before that. Two very, very solid games. South Park's humor is always on the ball, and the gameplay is simple but very fun. Shovel Knight is a beast of its own, very good callout to the past.

I've got like two levels left in Wolfenstein, so I can safely call that number 3 this year.

Just finished LittleBIGPlanet 3. Yikes, that game was pretty buggy. Have a trophy that refuses to unlock, and in the last boss fight, Toggle (one of the three sidekicks) has an ability that makes him switch between large and small. Well, whenever I set him to small, the character would disappear from the screen, which makes it difficult when you have to make a jump and grab something. A complete system reboot fixed the problem, but I can't help but be disappointed that these major bugs slipped through.

  • Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna)
  • LittleBIGPlanet 3
  • Bayonetta 2

Finished BF4 Earlier last week.

Working on: Korra for PS4.

Next: ??? Maybe I'll scratch my RPG itch and finish Crimson Shroud.

I'm done Korra. I'm sure I can finish a third game this month...hopefully lol.

Want to get a few more trophies first though.

Hello my good GAFfers! Glad that I managed to achieve the goal for this month with the following finished titles:

- Murasaki Baby

Very short game but really nice and warm story with interesting art and a neat final soundtrack.

- Shadow of Mordor

Felt great finishing this game after watching the last Hobbit movie in the cold winter. The universe was addicting and fighting those enemies was amazing. Loved the setting and the heavy rain. The voice acting of most of them was really well done, in my opinion. "Man filth!"

-Resident Evil Revelations

While it felt a bit short, the narrow corridors, and the location made the claustrophobic feel more tense than ever. Nice selection of weapons, great main theme soundtrack and interesting Story.

Let's see what else I might finish this month but if not possible, then here's hoping for a good February. Thanks for reading! :)

January so far:

Gemini Rue - wanted this game for years and I finally picked it up on steam during the Holiday. Damn this was a good one set in a good universe.
Machinarium - Fuck, the puzzles were so damn abstract half the time that I was getting a headache. Cute game but took much longer than I would have hoped.

[PS3] The Witch and the Hundred Knight - Finished
[WiiU] Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - Finished

Still need to do the challenge times on Toad but I'm just going to do a few at a time since I really need to work through some of my other games.

Right now I'm going to get things down to just my Wii U and 3DS stuff which means picking off my remaining PSOne classics and Virtual Console stuff. Easier said than done since my Virtual Console backlog consists of the 4 Phantasy Star games and Breath of Fire 2.

Current lineup:

[VC] Phantasy Star - In progress
[PS] Parasite Eve 2 - In progress
[PS] Legend of Mana - In progress

If I can get those done and maybe BoF2 by the end of the month I'll be on a good pace.

This isn't going to end well.

Farcry 4
Dragon Age Inquisition
Swapper or First Light

Off to a great start, FarCry 4 is done and only a couple quests from finishing Dragon Age. They both felt like they overstayed their welcome tbh.

Might make the third one Bayonetta.

Once I finish the second run through South Park, my main priority will be on Assassin's Creed Unity. I've also been chipping away at Persona 4 Golden, maybe 25-30 hours into that so plenty left to go.

So far for January:

1. Far Cry 1 (pc)

I liked it in the end, but it hasn't aged as well as the other big 2004 fps's. I tried but the stealth wasn't my cup of tea and the gunplay wasn't great, so I just enabled god mode and went nuts which made the game a lot better.

2. The Walking Dead: Season Two

So damn good. Not as fresh as Season One, but still really solid. I'm curious to see what they'll do for Season Three, given how this
has multiple endings
.

3. Game Dev Tycoon

I figured this would be a lot shorter than it was, but I was pleasantly surprised by the length and depth of it. I ended up trying to make a bunch of known games throughout the years around when they actually came out (Ninja Gaiden NES, Halo, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines and like 4 sequels that all did really well), and having a general knowledge of how things went made things easier in places (like knowing not to support the Dreamcast since it'd be dead soon). I ended up making World of Warcraft and getting it to over 100 million subscribers, made a console that didn't really go anywhere, and made Steam, and then went from a billion dollars to bankrupt from a huge R&D budget on my second console and a few AAA WoW expansions. I loved the experience overall, I completely lost the better part of two days into it.

4. South Park: The Stick of Truth

They fucking nailed the aesthetic of the show, and the humor is straight-up South Park. Tons of references and nods to the show's long history in the quests and dialogue and even more in stuff like billboards and people's closets and background music. and done well enough to not feel like constant fan service. The combat is solid, plenty of options but not overly complex and it totally fits the setting. I've really enjoyed the game, hell I've started a second playthrough to Platinum the game which I rarely do. I was on the fence for getting it during the Winter Sale and I'm totally glad that I did rather than wait for the Summer Sale, the game is really fucking good.

I am new Vita owner and "beat" Welcome Park, yesterday. I think I can count it as +1 game. :)

PS3
PixelJunkShooter

PS4
Driveclub
Valiant Hearts

Ps Vita
Welcome Park

bonus games PS4
Ignition Driveclub dlc
Photo-Finish Driveclub dlc[/QUOTE]

My 3 for January are:

Completed already:

Uncharted Golden Abyss
Uncharted 2

Stuck on metal gear boss(!) :

Metal gear solid

I think I will have to go back to an earlier save. I start the battle with 2 chaf grenades and no body armour. Reckon it's impossible!

Natural Doctrine
Bayonetta 2
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney

Finished Bayonetta last night and apart from chapters 8 and 9 I thought the game was great! Still working on Phoenix Wright on the DS. I finished the 4th case (which was pretty great) and it seemed like the game ended but then another case showed up. Seems a little disjointed almost like a DLC case? At least it seems interesting so far.

Goals:

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (Wii U)
Call of Duty : Ghosts (Wii U)
Breath of Fire II (Wii U Virtual Console)

AC IV I'm about 25% of the way in, but digging it so far and should be able to get through it in a week or two.

Breath of Fire II I've been going through in spurts for the past 17 months but I'm nearing the last quarter of the game now.

Haven't started Ghosts yet but I know the CoD campaigns are never super long so I should be able to polish it off too this month.

AC IV & Ghosts are down, actually wound up enjoying both of them more than I expected, Black Flag in particular. I got sucked into that for two weeks straight.

Fresh participant here, starting easy now...

Proteus
DuckTales: Remastered
Beyond: Two Souls

About 2/3 through with Beyond. Enjoying every single minute of it, much respect for QD!
