Three in October - The End is Nigh Edition

One new game and two games I've already played some of, but ended up doing other games instead last month. There are games coming out at the end of the month like Batman: Arkham Origins, but I don't know if I will beat them within the month or not. We'll see.
 
3 for the month:
GTAV - About halfway through the SP, whether the online will be a distraction or not remains to be seen
Bioshock 2, Minerva's Den - Picked it up on a sale a while back and hear it's worth dedicating an evening or two towards.
Fez - Will keep chipping away until I figure out what the big secret is.

Finshed last month:
Rayman Origins last week, which was a blast from start to finish. Puts Legends very firmly in my sights for when I next am ready for a platformer.
Finished Last Of Us during September as well. Truly something special.

Not mentioning Megaman 9, because I'm at Wily's castle.
Might add Catherine because Rain sounds like it's short.
 
Only game I'm 100% set on finishing is GTAV. Going to pick up beyond, but I might play that through with significant other which may lengthen its time to completion. Haven't decided what else but here's whats on my radar:

Whatever you do, do not rush through SOTN. It would be a crime to just fly through that castle or cheat in order to lighten up your backlog. Take time to savor the play control, art design, exploration, pacing, and one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. They just don't make games like this for home consoles anymore :-(

I should be able to wrap up Final Fantasy VIII this month, as well as The Last of Us.

Not sure what to target for a third. I'll have to start FFIX right after I finish VIII, but that definitely won't be finished by the end of the month.

After The Last of Us my console slot will be open. Not sure where to go with that next. I could pick up Persona 3 again, or pick an old Gamecube game, or an old PS3 game. Hmmm.

Might end up being Persona 3 at double speed in PCSX2.

Pretty light this month because even though I crossed XCOM and Vanquish off my backlog from last month, I've yet to plat either and will be inching my way towards those as well. 3 more playthroughs to go in Xcom and those goddamn tactical challenges in Vanquish.
 
So i have been following these threads without actively participating these last few months. But last month i ended up knocking out Tomb Raider, GTA V and Bit Trip Presents Runner 2, so i figured i would at least put this month down in writing and see if i can follow through.
So I'm going with:

The Last of Us
Crash Bandicoot
Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm.

If i get finished with those three, I will probably dive into SMT IV, but that's to hold me over till the PS4 launch and then Black Friday where my backlog will increase by far.
 
I do these to keep myself motivated to go through the backlog!

Went ahead and sat down and finished Mega Man X finally. Probably will move onto X2 at some point in the near future as well.
 
Taking Saturday as a gaming day to try and get through one of my games. Gotta catch up after spending today and tomorrow in glorious Kansas City.
It's not glorious.
 
Last month I said I would complete Amnesia, TR Legend, and F.E.A.R. but I actually ended up completing Amnesia and GTAV. So instead of three this month I need four.

Not gonna list them this time, but FFXIII will be one of them.

Crash Bandicoot is great, just be prepared for a weird save system.

Done 3D land and decided not to do Mass Effect because I wasn't really enjoying it.
So I'm going to change that to Mass Effect 2, we will see if I finish this one.

You were not joking. But in some way, it's kind of a breath of fresh air. In the age of everything auto saving for you, it's kind of nice to have to earn your saves. Once I lose a ton of progress towards the end of the game, I'm probably going to hate it to high hell, but right now it's nice.

Beyond: Two Souls - Completed (and in one sitting, as per my personal tradition with QuanticDream games). Had a lot of fun with this one! 6.5/10
Dangan Ronpa - Completed! Ended up marathoning most of it over the course of three days. Incredible characters. Am now starting to read through the 2nd game's Let's Play, but I don't think that really counts here. 8.5/10
Home - Completed! I wasn't very happy with this. It seems all fine and dandy until you realize that
nothing is going to happen
, and then from there it just becomes painful to play through. Would not recommend. 4.0/10

Bonus
The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1 - TellTale does it again. My only complaint is that it was too short. 7.0/10

Succeeded for the second month in a row! Hopefully I can keep this up.
 
P4 arena.. Yeah the definition of finishing a fighting game is crap, but this game came out dead in europe, so i just clear ed story mode for every char and i'm done..

Third game to be decided yet... Maybe Corpse party or an horror/scary game

If i decide to switch jobs i'll ha ve a looong november of nerding before moving to the netherlands..

Going to do this all year next year, but I need to get a bit off the backlog this month

GTA V (20% through so far)
Dishonored (Had this game forever, haven't touched it)
Halo 3 (Going to replay this with friends when it becomes available for free, first time I will beat it on co-op)

Bonuses for this month are Pokemon X and Modern Warfare 3, pretty good month if this happens.

Next month will be insane for my backlog though, I need to look at my Steam Backlog lol.
 
I really want to finish off my 360 backlog this month, which means:
Dead Space 2
Binary Domain
Deus Ex HR

Finished Dead Space and a few hours into Binary Domain. Wasn't feeling it at first but slowly growing on me.
 
Splinter Cell down and about 4 hours into Bioshock. Should be an easy three this month, so hopefully I'll get an extra 2 or 3 by November.

1. The Walking Dead + 400 Days - Started it last week, just finished today. Damn, it was amazing, recommended even if you're not normally into the zombie thing.

2. Metal Gear Sold 4 - This came bundled with the PS3 I bought back in 2008. I kind of feel like I should finish it before the PS4 comes out.

3. Valkyria Chronicles - Really just have the last mission of DLC to wrap up, but I've been sitting on it forever despite loving this game. So I'm putting it on this list to get it done before November hits.

Ended up beating three already: Auditorium, 6180 the moon and Micron.

Feel motivated to try for three more and zero out my bought/beat record this month. Particularly think I should try Dead Space because it's October, but who knows if I can be assed to go start up a console.

Finished Might & Magic 1. Thoroughly enjoyed it, too; it's much deeper than I was expecting for 1986. There's no ingame timer, but I'd estimate around 75 hours or so of play. That said, the last week was a bit ridiculous; I think I managed to double my levels in the space of one weekend, as various ways to increase core stats became apparent.

I need something a bit pacier next, though!
 
I'm in! Already beat two this month (Killzone: Mercenary and Guacamelee; two excellent games). Will try to finish Mark of the Ninja to round out my three.

Finally got back to my Legend of Zelda series timeline playthrough after a couple month. Now that I'm done with this one, only one game remaining. Zelda II. The only game in the series I've never beaten now. Might start it soon, but no idea when I'll finish with so many other games coming out this month.
 
Halo 4 and Resident Evil 6 (all campaigns) have been completed this month. Made a decent start on Bioshock Infinite, but then a wild Pokemon X has appeared and oh god when did October become the new Christmas? Arrrrgh!
 
Just wrapped up Bioshock, leaving StarCraft. Will probably play Pokemon for the rest of the weekend though.
