Three years later what console did you pick as main? (Read OP please)

I was 360 most of last gen, then switched to PS4. I got a PS3 in 2013, but only for KH remasters and exclusives.

I went from PC & all consoles (PS3, 360 and Wii) to just PC and PS4. Wii U didn't appeal and XB1just doesn't have enough of interest I can't get on PC plus I didn't like launch focus nor Kinect being bundled.

I got them all, but I find almost all of them go unused outside of a few big exclusives every now and then. I'm staying primarily PC, for now.

Was ps3 last gen and was planning on going ms this time around but the awful xbone reveal killed it for me. Preordered a ps4 the next day.

Last gen, I was:

  • Wii
  • DS
  • 360, then PS3

This gen, I am:

  • Wii U
  • 3DS
  • PS4

My main console switches depending on what's out, but I'm guessing my PS4 will become my primary pretty soon since the Wii U doesn't have a lot in terms of new releases. My Wii U was the primary console for a good chunk of its lifespan though, especially in 2014.

For the last few gens I had been kind of an everything gamer. I owned all 3 systems at some point during the PS2/GC/XB era and the same was true with Wii/360/PS3. Last gen I started more heavily in the 360 camp even though I didn't really care for the OG xbox, it was mostly because that's what my friends were playing. The second half of last gen though I wound up swapping almost exclusively to PS3 and Wii for Nintendo exclusives.

It was really last gen that convinced me not to buy all of them going into this one. So ultimately this gen I dropped Xbox entirely. PS4/WiiU satisfies all my console needs and PC serves my needs for anything the other two don't.

X360 last gen & bought an X1 at launch for this gen. I had the X1 for a few months & realized I didn't like it -- so I sold it (the X1), bought a PS4, & I've been pretty content since.

I also did a short stent with the Wii U around the time Mario Maker came out & came to find that I prefer Nintendo titles on handhelds.

360 (2006-2008)
PS3 (2009-2011)
PC (2011-2013)
PS4(2013+)

Just talking about main console, I normally have multiple consoles.
Probably will stay within Sonys ecosystem now, especially if I can use old games and peripheral with their next consoles as well.

Had both a 360 and Ps3 last gen, though my Ps3 was mostly for exclusives. Bought both Ps4 and Xbox One at launch. Sold the Ps4 after a few months but kept the Xbox. Bought a Ps4 again last year in September.

Most of my friends are on Xbox so I mostly play multiplayer games on there and use my Ps4 for everything else.

Also have a gaming PC, 3ds and Vita I play regularly.

went from snes to ps1 to ps2 to xbox to 360 to xbone as far as consoles go. got a psp and a 2ds aswell but i dont use em anymore

360 exclusively to Xbox One exclusively.

Just don't have the time to game on more than one device these days. I suppose I dabble a tiny bit in PC gaming, but its mostly retro stuff (DOS games) or light puff browser games.

5th Gen
PC only, eventually bought a Mac and gave up on PC gaming

6th Gen
Dreamcast, upgraded to a Gamecube, but finished with the Xbox as my primary

7th Gen
Xbox 360

8th Gen
Xbox One

The Dreamcast brought me back to console gaming. The Gamecube was a fantastic console to transition to, as it was so family friendly. But it was the Xbox that brought me quality online play and probably cemented the idea that PC gaming was more trouble than it was worth. While I missed some PC games, I increased the amount of time I played games versus evaluating how they play, and my enjoyment of them increased substantially.

Moving forward, I owned the Wii and and Wii U, but they were hardly factors in my gaming. I wish they were, but the Xbox controller is the way I like to play games. I also owned both a PSP and a Vita. They gathered much dust. My daughter owns most of the Gameboys, and I kind of liked the DS, but i'm not a mobile gamer.

Went from PS3 / 360 / Wii to PS4 / PC. Recently sold the PS4 due to financial shenanigans and am currently rocking the PC solo, which is fine. Will definitely be jumping back into the PS4 (or Neo) for stuff like God of War, Horizon, and The Last Guardian.

After a 2.5 years break from gaming, I bought PS4 and XBO at the same day last July.
Every weekend I spend a good amount of time on XBO playing Fifa, Forza Horizon 2 and Rocket League online with friends. I also play some BC titles and and some exclusives on it. But I buy most of multiplats on PS4. I've spent near 400 hours only on four games on it (Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne , Dark Souls 3 and recently Witcher 3)
I guess it's a tie for me. I'd preferred XBO for its better controller and quietness if it wasn't for that fucking buggy sluggish OS. It's so annoying to me. Taking near 2 hrs to install a game from disc is just ridiculous.
So, for now I prefer PS4 for bigger exclusive library and snappy UI, even though every time I play on it I have to use a headphone because of its noise.
Come on MS, your'e a primarily OS manufacture. Get your shit together.

Last gen my main was easily the 360, but lately I've really enjoyed picking up several last-gen titles that I missed on the PS3 and bulking up that library a bit. Almost feels like getting an extra between-gen system even though I've owned the PS3 since launch. This gen I have more games for the X1 and it probably sees more use, but I also love the PS4 so they kinda share the 'main' title. Just seems to be whatever game I'm playing determines where my focus is (though I do prefer the X1 controller and the Elite to the DS4).

last-gen was really weird for me. I was all in on 360 for the first few years, but I also got a Wii and a PS3 on launch. Sold the PS3, then bought a new PS3 a few years later and pretty much only played exclusives on it, I was still primarily a 360 guy. As the generation wore on, and load times got longer and longer, I transitioned more to PC.

this gen I'm all in on PS4. I have a Wii U also, but I never got around to getting an XB1, and I still game a lot on my PC. I think I'd say my main is PC, but my main console is PS4.

so for consoles I went 360->PS4 for the most part, but generally speaking I went 360->PC->PS4->PC.

I've owned everything in the last 10 years except for Playstation 2, NDS, Dreamcast and Vita. So basically the two hottest selling products and the two most dead products.

My main console right now is PS4 though. I jumped ship from 360 after PS4 and Xbone were announced. Sony said all the right things and MS dropped the ball. I go where the games are and I'll go there happily if the company is making choices that benefit me more.

I'll probably buy NX just for Pikmin 4, not sure if I'll buy it day one for Zelda though.

360 > rrod circa 2008 > PC

I have a ps4 for bloodborne, but it pretty much exclusively stays in the closet these days in hope for a bb2 announcement.

Wii -> WiiU

I also had a PS3 last gen, but I ended up barely using it. Just a WiiU (and 3DS/old PC) is fine by me right now.

Starting with the N64 I'd always been Nintendo console and Handheld plus Sony console. This generation I went straight Nintendo and love the Wii U. I'm seriously considering picking up a PS4 since the price is dropping but I can't name 5 must own games on it yet and that's a deal breaker until I can.

Well, I didn't buy a Wii U but have a PS4 while last gen I had both PS3 and Wii. And continue using PC as my main gaming platform.

I had all three consoles last gen, and I did the same this time around too. I play the Wii U the most, but outside of Sunset Overdrive and Rise of the Tomb Raider, I've been very disappointed by the Xbox One. I vastly overestimated the number of console exclusives it would receive. Last gen the 360 had so many fun quirky JRPGs and XBLA games. I suppose it was naive of me to assume that trend would continue.

Owned both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with Xbox 360 being my primary console for multi-platform games, exclusives and xbla games. PlayStation 3 was just for first party exclusives and exclusives such as 3D Dot Game Heroes and Dragon's Crown.

Currently, I own both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with PlayStation 4 being my primary console for multi-platform games, exclusives and PSN/Indie games. Xbox One is just for exclusives such as Ryse: Son of Rome, Quantum Break, Gears of War 4, ReCore and 2017's State of Decay 2. Other than those five games, nothing else interested / interests me for Xbox One. Good console but they fucked up three years ago and still haven't fully recovered in my opinion.

Controller wise, I like both of them equally but I do wish I could turn off the vibration for the Xbox One controller and the light bar for the PlayStation 4 controller.

With that said, my Xbox One is in it's box and in my closet until ReCore/Gears of War 4 come out mainly because if I see it and not playing it, I'll be tempted to sell it. This way, it's out of sight, out of mind but I know I have it for the few games that I do want to buy and play. Both consoles are good and bad in their own ways.

PS3 to Wii U. Past gens were NES, SNES, N64/PS1, Dreamcast/PS2/GameCube then PS3.

I bought the PS3 at the time both because I needed a blu-ray player and used to have a PS1 and PS2. I didn't have a Wii because I didn't find it very appealing and it didn't have a blu-ray player.

I didn't like it though as I realized Sony gaming did a giant shift towards serious AAA stuff that doesn't interest me as I'd rather watch movies.

I got a 3DS in its launch week and liked it so much that eventually, after a year or so of not finding it appealing, the Wii U felt like a no-brainer and I bought it when Mario Kart 8 was released.

Zero regrets. The PS4 is even further away from the PS1/2. For a moment before the PS4/Xbox One were revealed, I thought that maybe Microsoft was going to differentiate itself from Sony since they seemed to have treated the Kinect rather seriously and so perhaps they would see an opportunity to lean slightly more towards Nintendo-style innovation, but all they did was add a Kinect to a Microsoft PS4box, jack up the price and do nothing with it. They're both living-room PCs now.

I'm super hyped for the NX because I know I'll keep getting the types of games that I enjoyed, growing up, whereas I don't see Sony and Microsoft coming back to that. Surprisingly enough, the closest thing to Wipeout this gen is still currently a Nintendo exclusive. The only franchise Sony has left that I'm remotely interested in is Gravity Rush and I get the feeling this franchise will die with 2.

Went from PS3 to the PS4. Microsoft haven't done anything to persuade me to get an Xbox One, though I don't have time nor money for another console alongside the PS4. Not to badmouth MS' exclusives, but there aren't enough of them to remotely justify the purchase for me. None of my friends have the One either.

I also had a Gamecube once upon a time, but I've been completely out of the Nintendo loop for ages. Not even the latest Zelda did ANYTHING for me...

I went from...

PS3/Wii

To...

PC/Wii U

No complaints, but I'll wait for reviews of Horizon Zero Dawn before completely ruling out the Neo.
