Thrustmaster T-Wireless Gamepad for Wii

Well there doesn't seem to be a definitive consensus on an alternative. I'd like the analog sticks and button layout to match the GC.

That, and an alternative for someone with big hands and fingers would be infinitely helpful.

I mean, the thrustmaster pad looks great...for my girlfriend.

As long as your hands are not overly large, then this is a perfect alternative. It's more comfortable than that ridiculous GC controller regardless.

I want the layout to match the GC, I really dislike the PS2 configuration.

I find the GC layout to be one of the most unfunctional layouts out there...the buttons are placed in such an unsymmetrical fashion. You can't have one finger use 2 buttons at the same time (like Y-B on an SNES controller) which is real stupid to me. Imagine having to play Super Mario Bros / World and having to hold a button to run and press another to jump...it just wouldn't work well.

Different strokes I guess =\. I went from a SNES straight to a PS2, so I'm pretty biased towards this button layout.

What.

I can easily handle pressing two buttons at the same time on the GCN face with my thumb. Three if its B,A,X. Sure, B and X can be difficult but then again if you absolutely had to use only those two you could slip your fingers up there in sort of a keyboard claw configuration.

The controller itself fits nicely into the contours of the hands, the big A button helps find a good home position without looking at it, and the different feel and heights to the buttons is a godsend.

I realize I'm replying to a banned member on an old message, but...

hold B for run and press A to jump. Not that difficult at all.

I wonder if I should try getting this pad in Europe. I am really, really sick of trying to play SMW on the Wii with the GCN controller because Nintendo are too big of asshats to let you map buttons, and they apparently intentionally fuck you over to buy their Classic Controller.

I actually was talking to someone about how smart the gamecube layout actually. I mean, maybe not to us who play games all the time, but the button layout is far easier to grasp for someone new to gaming. All the buttons have different shapes so you can easily tell the difference by feel alone. The A button is made as the focus on of the controller and every other button is around A, so you can easily press any other button without having to lift off of or really move far from the main A button.

Figured I'd catch up on my pre-ban topic. The main problem I have for B-A is that it requires you to have your thumb at an unnatural angle. The Y-B configuration on the SNES pad felt much more natural.

Anyways, to come back to the Thrustmaster...I'm not 100% I'd recommend it anymore. The size definitely is a bit too small. Yes the controller is small, but the problem is the buttons. They're just not nearly as comfortable as PS2/SNES/GC buttons. I'd still say they're a bit better than 360 buttons, but not by much. The main problem with the controller is that I've experienced dropouts. It may have been low batteries, but I don't think so. It's a rare occurence, but it can still cost you a match.

Stick with the GC controller, or an PS2 controller + adapter (what I should have gotten).
