thuway: Titanfall struggling with 720p resolution on XB1

This isn't a big deal since optimizations have only just started or haven't even started yet. Get back at me closer to release.

If the Xbone could not handle KI which was two characters on a fairly static background then no surprise here. What's the compelling reason to pay $500 to play it on The One(tm) over the 360?
What do you mean? Does KI lag or something?

He explicitly asked to not make a fuss about it here...

He says this, but posts it anyway, knowing full well it will get a thread on Gaf.

I don't doubt his information (although the game isn't finished...) but he decided to ignore the mod 2-source verification in favour of posting on twitter so he doesn't have to answer to anyone.

The last trailer really put me down back to earth. Old gen animation transition, not so great graphics... after 6 months of next gen trailer, after BF4 and KZ SF, this really really looks poor now.

Game better be damn fun

I can only half read what Tim Dog is saying. What happened to full, comprehensible sentences?

It doesnt matter anyway. The game is not finished. It has months for optimization.

Is Titanfall 60fps? Or 30? (On XBO)

why would you think this would be 30 frames on a next gen conso--well, I don't blame you if you do.

Maybe because, you know, 60 frames per second is much more important in a fighting game than resolution.

Like a shooter. Or any other fast paced competitive game.

Umm, shouldn't this game be 1080p?

I mean, its not exactly a looker. BF4 is pushing 900p at 64fps and the scale of that game is huge plus it looks really nice.

720p at 64fps with tight maps and kinda ugly should be pushing that hardware no fucking problem.

But to the point where it'll demand specs equivalent to the newer engines?

It's not really an impossible situation. If you look at the requirements to make vanilla Skyrim run at 1080/60, they're pretty easy to match. Then if you feel like telling your GPUs they're fat and need to work out some more and add the glory of an ENB. 4k textures all around, bring the world to life with some(by which I mean multiply it by at least 100) foliage and clutter, suddenly the requirements got significantly higher.

Hell, if I dump like 100 Kleiners into a singularity bomb in Garrys Mod, I drop to like 2 FPS.

I know it's modified but doesn't Source do better with CPU at high clock speeds since it was made with CPU not GPU in mind? Would explain they may be having trouble getting it to 60fps.
Yeah, I suspect this too. Running an old engine on new hardware doesn't mean guaranteed good performance.

Has the release date for this game been locked down? Seems to me they are at the very least 3 months out, struggling to reach their desired performance/resolution isn't a good thing but it's also not set in stone or really news either.

March 11th 100% according to EA.

Isn't this news coming from one of the guys who said that the Xbox One OS would be a complete unworkable mess at launch?

I could be wrong, but almost certain he said something to that effect.

Guy is a sony loyalist, not really surprised if he said something like that. Why was he banned from gaf anyways?
