Tim Buckley has rebooted Ctrl + Alt + Delete

What the fuck.

I'm not sure what it's supposed to be - funny, insightful, commentary on something, anything interesting whatsoever. There's nothing there.

It's not a reboot, he's posting a single page of a comic each day for 28 days. Presumably at the end of it he'll go back to the regular stuff.

I really should just not say anything at all but the feelings are just too strong.

I always hated his art, his taste in games, his attempts at humour...literally everything.

Sorry I can't be more constructive, normally when a webcomic doesn't impress me I can let it go fairly easily, but the combination things wrong with Ctrl + Alt + Delete added up to something I hated big time.

According to the blog post on this comic, this IS the reboot:

Reboot Q and A this evening
Monday, November 3, 2014 | 02:59 PM | by Tim

I'm going to do a live Q&A on Twitch this evening at 6pm EST. Tune in and join chat to ask questions. Alternatively, if you can't make the live stream, you can leave a question for me on Twitter @TimCAD and I'll try to get to it.

I'd like to keep the focus on questions regarding the reboot, but may talk about other projects as well. See you there!

Any way, this is god awful.

And I assume that famous strip will be posted here in 3...2...1

The Smash Bros. version.

10 seconds in and I'm embarrassed to have ever played a video game.
I hate everything now.
You know, I never tried to watch one of these for more than a few seconds before. I wonder if he actually suggested that the animators make the backgrounds keep the no effort MS Paint look. Also, why does this feel like a rejected Family Guy episode?
The writing....
This makes me embarrassed to be human.
for posting that I now hate you...

omg wtf
Keep in mind that there are two seasons (for a total of 24 episodes, IIRC) of this. B^U

: O

You know, I didn't absolutely hate the first "reboot" after it "ended." I hadn't ever read it outside the more infamous ones that made the rounds (Miscarriage, black guy in a movie theater, etc.), but he did seem to objectively level up his game sometime between now and then and not just rely on cutting and pasting the same panel while only changing the expressions and mouths.

It was never high art, it was never some of the best of webcomics or anything, but he wasn't as awful.

Wow, it's been a long time since I spent an iota of thought on CAD. Still, kinda takes me back to the webcomics thing in the early 2000's. The only one that I can even recall with any sense of fondness was 8-bit Theater. Repetitive as hell at times, but still a okish time waster for a pre-teen with nothing to do.

The company that made the first season mentioned that they lost a ton of money on it. Don't know who made the second. I noticed that Buckley was the writer of that episode, and also one of two people responsible for storyboards.

Looks like it happened as far back as October 29th, but I didn't see any news about it. I didn't even hear about it until today.

Ethan and Lucas are now gaming superheroes. They throw controller boomerangs at ninjas who use the RROD as their symbol.

Someone new is doing the coloring. Art still by Buckley.

Edit: The reboot works in story arc format. The example posted is the latest update. It is not a self contained joke.

Wow, how did they not go with this:

My word, Buckley's comic book style makes his comic-comic style actually look decent in comparison. Woof.

I always hate that people show the miscarriage comic as a form of derision and an attack against him. I have followed the comic from the start and I found this particular comic pretty devastating. Her being pregnant was something that spanned months in the comic.

I remember Scott Kurtz loooved to poke fun at CAD on PvP.
I'm struggling to think of webcomic artists who didn't.

Maybe Ryan Sohmer since it was his company that made the cartoon series?

Basing a story-arc on your ex girlfriend's miscarriage while making it entirely about yourself in your videogame webcomic series is pretty gross, especially when you can't write for shit. Buckley absolutely deserved the mockery he got from that, if not already for his other shitty behavior and 'incidents' leading up to it.

I wasn't aware of the real life associations. I cared about Lilah. My point still stands. And when I saw the comic, I didn't think it was about Ethan, I thought it was about Lilah.

I'm really not aware of why is this SO bad, can some one illuminate me?, is it the drawing most are making fun of? because i really don't think that's the point of the series, from what i read it's kinda funny sometimes. SOMETIMES. But it's not as criminally bad as say...the big bang theory...or is he some really bad person and people hate him as they hate Phill Phish for example?

didn't he already reboot it before

well I guess it can't be as bad as befo-

nope

Tim thinks pretty...highly of himself doesn't he? I mean, it's fairly obvious the main character is pretty much him and the main character has gotten to the point where he's literally a superhero.

I'm getting an idea about the person you are than him tbh.

Why would you make controllermarangs that are anything but the original PS3 boomerangs

why

yes, that IS my primary problem with this complete trainwreck of a comic
