banning phrases is stupid because it's a process that should occur naturally from the community. when people say and do stupid things, if a preponderance of people don't call them out for being the social retards that they are, then that says more about the community than it does about the retard himself. in fact, it says that there are more retards milling about than those with good sense who know a shitty comment when they see one. the banning of "memes" (and yes, christ, i'm tired of this word) is a symptom of a large group of stupid people. if you guys actually want this stuff to go away, stop accepting "this" or periods as valid replies and ignore people who think they are.
