OKAY GUYS PEOPLE LIKE FUCKING COKE RIGHT?! We need COKE, COKE 2, COKE 3: Legends of Cola, Coke Aerosmith Edition, Coke Van Halen Edition, Coke Metallica Edition, A Coke World Tour, Coke 5 and Coke DJ ENERGY RAVE edition. All this year.

How about I drink neither Coke nor Pepsi?

Indeed. (Though Dublin Dr. Pepper is the best.)

Coke is superior to Pepsi, if only for one reason; it mixes better with alcohol. Pepsi is too sweet for most mixed drinks.

Other than that, I couldn't care less, because I very rarely drink either one straight.

AFAIK, you can buy "Mexican Coke" from stores. It's bottled and made in Mexico, a country that doesn't force everyone to use corn syrup by artificially raising the prices of sugar so the corn farmers have a reason to work. So it's made with pure sugarcane. I could be wrong, though.

Also, I fucking love Pepsi Throwback. I wish I could still find it in my area. I was gladly paying more for it while it was here.

Sadly, I live in fucking Montana, where good stuff like that doesn't exist.

I did see Mexican Pepsi at my local IGA yesterday, which surprised me.

I'm Mexican and my girlfriend brought me a pack of American Coca Colas, they're way too sweet compared to the normal flavour of Coke here. I thought they used the same formula worldwide.

I made my first Amazon Fresh order in large part because they sold 24-bottle cases of Mexican Coke for less than a dollar/bottle which is by far the cheapest I can get around here.

Now I'm addicted to Amazon Fresh.

But, yeah, Mexican Coke is vastly superior to US coke. I'm also hugely disappointed that I've never been able to find Passover Coke in my area, because in theory it should be the same flavor, just in plastic instead of glass.

The mind is a funny thing. There have been many tests that show that people can't really tell the difference between American coke and Mexican coke. It's only when people are told they are drinking American or Mexican coke that they sense a difference in taste. Even if they are comparing two American cokes or two Mexican cokes.

Why would you even drink soda if it didn't have alcohol in it?

You guys are so silly.
In the case of sugared soda, I sort of agree. Too much like drinking liquid candy.

In the case of diet soda, not so much. For me it's a perfectly refreshing beverage that serves as a nice change-up from the typical water, milk, juice, and coffee.

But honestly, alcohol isn't everything. Some people like a sweet drink, and soda comes in so many varieties that there's really something for all tastes. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something purely for its unique flavor.

Most people are fucking retarded.

Exactly. Also, the consistency or viscosity is fucked in the American version of soda. American soda is so syrupy that it leaves behind almost a film in my mouth. When I drink pepsi throwback or real coke, it has a much thinner, more watery consistency like it should have. Then there's also the fact that it tastes better with real sugar as well.

Am I wrong to believe that making Coke with sugar is more costly than making it with corn syrup?

I'm trying to think of how it's possible that Mexico has the superior product. Can't wrap my head around it. Do Mexicans have higher standards that Coke is merely catering to?

US subsidizes corn, and inflates sugar prices, essentially making using HFCS cheaper than sugar in the US.

From Wikipedia:

In the U.S., HFCS is among the sweeteners that have primarily replaced sucrose (table sugar) in the food industry. Factors for this include governmental production quotas of domestic sugar, subsidies of U.S. corn, and an import tariff on foreign sugar; all of which combine to raise the price of sucrose to levels above those of the rest of the world, making HFCS less costly for many sweetener applications.

Wait did they change Pepsi Max to just be Pepsi's Coke zero? Didn't it used to have ginseng in it, and it tasted awful?

I'll have to try it again I guess.

The only difference I taste is from it being in glass. Coke tastes different depending on whether it's in glass, plastic, or aluminum.
