And the art, the music, and the fun.Uncharted 3 should not be that high; the combat scenarios in that game are too poorly designed. Bastion seems questionable too considering the only real highlight is the narrator.

You do know the Half-Life modding scene is considerably larger than the TES one?Yeah people don't forget Elder Scrolls games since they're so rare, nevermind that they provide unique experiences that most people don't bother doing. Portal 2 will be forgotten waaay before Skyrim is. Hell Portal 2 will be forgotten before the next ES game comes out.

I agree with Derrick, Portal 2 is ultimately forgettable and did not live up to what it could have been. The best parts of the game are the writing and scripting. What you "play" isn't much of a step up from Portal 1 (the co-op is though). I don't think a 3rd game would do nearly as well for them as 2 did.
After playing 97 minutes of Bastion yesterday I want to thank the steam sale and this top ten by Time. It was a lot of fun.
Once again, Dead Space 2 gets neglected![]()
Most surprising of all, it got me to buy a game. I'd heard of Bastion- had it recommended to me by a Steam friend months ago- but I hadn't purchased it yet, I was waiting for a sale. List posts up, GAFfer mentions the daily deal, BAM. Purchased. Not very often that a Top Ten list in a mainstream mag influences me to purchase a game.
Well Bastion was probably game of the year and Skyrim's so broken that I can't be arsed to go through trying to play it right now. So I think it was a perfectly intelligent choice.
