Tips for Senior Year of High School?

Start looking at internships and build a resume when you're bored. It will give you a slap on the face on what you actually want to major instead of switching midway in college.


Otherwise, listen to uncle ben and have fun.

This is so true. Especially #2. Relationships as an adult are totally different. Even when you're doing simiilar things, it doesn't feel the same for some reason.

I miss my friends a lot.
 
It's really not a big deal. But don't turn down the pussy thrown at you. You'll regret it later in life.

I mean you're never going to see them again, unless you marry one of them. Another story.

Apply to every school you can think of for free

Apply to instate schools

Stress levels will drastically go down

Apply for the Questbridge scholarship

You fuckers also get Gates scholarship again, if you're a minority I know it's a bigger chance you'll really get it granted everything else is flames

Look beyond name, also know any big name great college like a Duke, Vandy, yada yada, more of yall are applying, it's actually fuckin scary, apply to smaller schools

Get your shit done school wise, like now to November/January will be stressful as fuck, after that you gucci

Have fun, realize weaknesses about yourself, try to go into school loving who you are. Helps with everything by your freshman year

Remember this is the last time you'll see a lot of people, enjoy that time, embrace it, love it

Senior year for me was fun, once I made good decisions

You're gonna feel done as fuck come October honestly, make it till May, you'll live. It'll be slow as hell once you get your acceptance but you'll make it to graduation

Like others have said, for the love of god finish out with good grades, and try to enjoy the time you have with your friends, you may remain close with a few of them but your all about to go in very different directions and meet tons of new people and foster new groups. However the friends from highschool that matter will stick around forever...and smoke less weed than i did my senior year

Honestly this. The real friends will be there but it's a scatter fest. Be the best you and the rest will follow.
 
Don't go into senior year with the name Forrest Crump the same year that the movie Forrest Gump comes out.

Excluding that, I think you'll be fine.

The ones you didn't make it with.... If you do catch up with them say 3-5 yrs later it's a pretty easy catch because you've both matured and don't want to waste time.

Prom is not a big deal. Don't stress over it. Just have fun.

Otherwise, HS is what you make of it. Senior year was my favorite year because I tried to leave my comfort zone and talk to new people and stuff. Have a lot of fun. Try and get good grades but don't obsess over it.

Also, I don't think building up college as something that matters more is a good way to go about it either. There's no right or wrong way to do these things, and the situations highly differ anyway based on where people lived/went to high school and college. When the time comes, you'll know what to do. Don't overthink things.

Other than that, getting good grades and having awesome friends will make you happy. High school was the easiest part of my life. xD
 
Make sure you go to prom. Keep up with studying so you're not stressed about your grades all year. Hang out a bunch with your friends, since this year might be the last time you see them on a frequent basis.
 
Get EVERYONE to sign your yearbook.

You'll never know who'll become famous, one of those signatures could be worth a lot of money one day!
 
I just realized how different high school must be these days with smartphones and Facebook. Probably way more laid back, easier to make friends, and get girls. I was in High school when Myspace was dying and FB hadn't been a thing yet.
 
Religiously apply for scholarships the entire school year and don't stop. While I had a band scholarship in college, for my first year in college about $10,000 of the other parts od my tuition was handled by scholarships I applied for during my senior year of high school.

Even if you apply for 30 and only get 5, that's still guaranteed money for school. There's no limit on scholarships you can apply for so go wild.
 
Enjoy every second of it. Try to go to a lot of school activities/events as you possibly could. Make new friends. Maintain a good grade. Go to prom. Go to parties.

Just fucking enjoy being a senior. Because it's the best year of high school.

High school is ok. I'm guessing it's too late to hop into dual enrollment now, so just focus on getting good enough grades and SAT scores to get to the university you want. Pass AP. If you're not dual enrolled, coasting with straight B's is honestly fine.

I was super antisocial my last year because I had to bus to the community college halfway through the day and didn't really have time to hang out with anyone, and everyone in college was much older than me so I felt kind of weird. Just uh, don't do that I guess. Chilling out and being social is important.
 
As someone who graduated last year:

-Get your ACT to the 30+ range. A 30+ will open up doors for scholarships, a 34+ bursts them wide open

-Focus on your studies, espcially as they relate to your future career. You may never have a teacher as dedicated as your high school ones again. And the grades you get even second semester senior year matter. 200+ students were rejected from UC-Irvine because they slacked senior year.

-Apply wisely to colleges that will leave you primed for a good job market and are in a decent location. Don't just choose a college for a good time.

-Have fun, but not too much. The people you do dumb things with won't always be around, but that record might be when common app comes around.

-If you care about connections, facetime people from high school once in a while. Face to face interaction, even when digital, maintains connections much moe than text or even phone calls do.
 
If you plan on staying friends with certain people who you consider special to you after school and in the years to come, make that known to them. Otherwise you'll lose them entirely.
 
Focus on your grades. I know everybody says that shit, but seriously, don't slouch on it. I was always a pretty good student but not as good as I could have been, so if there is one thing I wish I could go back it'd be to get the best grades I could.

But yeah, other than that, enjoy it. Senior year is the best year of high school.
 
As someone who graduated this year, finish strong and don't let senioritis get you. It resulted in me getting the only B on my transcript (Rest were all As) and it's an irrelevant dark spot on my transcript :P

Also make sure to have fun. It's your last high school year, use it to the fullest :)

Not true for everyone. A decade later and I'm still close with all but one of my high school friends. We all still meet up most weekends. I'm best man for one of my mates getting married in February.

It's strange that, from my experience, people who were good friends in primary (British version of elementary) school tend to stay good friends for a very long time, even if going to different schools later. HS friends are a whole different beast.
