Tired of Digital Foundry... any other better PC channel?

Who constantly crap on consoles for not being $4,000 PCs . 😵‍💫
Meanwhile.
Also DF:

Also showing you dont need a 2000 dollar computer to play AAA games at 60.

What i do when it comes to digital foundry is i start the video and if i dont hear alex speaking i just immediately close it.
Overclock3d, Guru3d and DSOGaming have some pretty good pc software analyses, not always as in-depth as DF, but they provide more than enough information most of the time.

Want to make DF fun for yourself again? Try taking a tequila shot every time you hear the word "rather" used in their videos, you can thank me later.
DF loves it's qualifier words, so that's a rather good observation. One might say it's very...interesting.

"Yes, John, it IS rather interesting."

I'm usually fine about Digital Foundry videos as long as it's not Alex Battaglia trying to stoke console flame wars claiming console X is more advanced than console Y through sheer ignorance (or spite, since one console maker didn't get him exclusive content or privileged access), or Alex Battaglia making underhanded ads for Nvidia claiming a RTX 2060 is better than the 9th-gen consoles because DLSS, or Alex Battaglia making emperor-has-no-clothes videos failing to show how much better the RT(X) ultra-hyper-psycho mode looks than the nearly indistinguishable no-RT high settings mode that runs 5x faster on all hardware, or Alex Battaglia feeling triggered by the tight latex suit the female MC uses in Stellar Blade.

So other than that, I'm okay with their content.
To be honest, I think John Linneman, Richard Leadbetter and Oliver Mckenzie are mostly unbiased guys trying to do their best.
I can't say the same for all of DF's staff though, particularly the ones who frequently post on resetera and tend to embed a thing or two of that culture into their content.

In depth analysis for PC games? I don't know anyone as good as DF. Benchmarks only? There are a lot of people doing that stuff, try checking out Santiago Santiago he tests games on low end hardware maybe you can find some of his content useful.

I just want to say, God bless Digital Foundry. No other technical analysis channel comes close to the amount of content that they put out. They seem like nice guys on top of that.

If I really want to get deeper into a game, I check their Twitter profiles. John told me what was wrong with Dead Space the moment I noticed something off in game, with screenshots.

This has been an odd arc to watch on this forum this last year and I'm legit curious where all this DF pushback started. Other than whomever is doing the voiceovers I don't think I've found a single channel that is more consistent in how they approach technical reviews. As someone said, these aren't benchmark runs - they do do those - but instead full playthrough technical impressions. Like who else is doing that being able to tell you all the odd quirks of a game and why things are or aren't working as intended. I remember the RDR2 video, where everyone was going on and on about the game being woefully unoptimized, and DF basically waiting for all the kneejerk responses to die down and laying out clearly why RDR2 was performing as it was on for people trying t grind that thing in 4K/60 at ultra in 2019. I didn't see anyone else even making an attempt at pushing back against the online grousing in such an objective way.

. . .a lot of this feels a lot like "Someone said something and like the greatest of all time. . .I took that personally."

I'm a bit tired of Digital Foundry lately.
Most of their videos are about consoles comparisions or retro"whatever", which I don't care for.

What would be the best alternative out there that is centered on PC releases analysis?
There isn't, I advise to stop watching this stuff cause it's a billion times better if you just try taking their place or any streamers place and play the f game than watching them , they are weird, don't get me wrong, everyone likes doing what they do but very small percentage actually wanna see others watching themselves playing, they are having fun doing that , we don't, most of us don't, but we don't wanna miss the stuff we care about.

I also prefer the retro stuff they make but i don't like how they are doing a lot of PS3 stuff for that section recently. Like, "how many PS3 games are 1080p" is not really good retro content.

Are the PS3/360 even retro now? Their games still look and feel like current games at lower res. And its not like there isn't infinite amount of stuff to cover from older generations.

> Alex does PC content
> GAF always throws a fit because they hate Alex
> DF rearrange so there's more console and retro stuff in between
> "Why doesn't DF focus on PC as much?"

Bruh we're old! Retro USED to be 10 years old, but most started pushing back to 12-15 years old, ...and Xbox 360 and PS3 fall into that space. We're at the same time difference as a NES was when PS2 came out.

DF is a double edge sword. It's really interesting for people who are into tech, but it also really pushes fanboyism, and can definitely harm decent games that are not tech savvy.

Still. The difference between the NES and PS2 is immense. Completely different games and feel. Games look play and sound completely different. They are different eras of gaming.

PS3 and PS5 look almost the same from a small distance and the games play and feel the same.

Not me. I like Alex's in depth analysis a LOT. Those are the most interesting DF videos to me, and I would like them to make *more* of those.

DF is fine.

It's all the keyboard warriors who feel they know better and need to pick apart problems because DF said that one plastic box performs minimally better than another plastic box.

Honestly, seen so many people on this site love DF last generation, but for some reason this generation there seems to be far more criticism. 🤔

I see absolute no reason why people should hate on DF, they give good insight in stuff and do a good job at covering it.

U guys having a hate boner for some guy because he's not pure in your head is just laughable.
