Titanfall 2 - Monarch's Reign Gameplay Trailer

So how is the skill level at the moment? Everyone amazing?
I fell off playing after a couple of weeks because I saw the skill gap increase and I could not play enough (or have enough talent) to keep up.

Skill level is just average players leaning on broken loadouts. That wont change unless the game is balanced, but thats not happening.

Amazing game and love that soundtrack from the first game. Love all the new content but please... FRONTIER DEFENSE! I need that PVE back.

lol did an animator at respawn do this or is this some kind of custom job? this is hilarious.

Yeah, Hyper at Respawn made it after being inspired by this piece of fanart:

It's a cool new look for my favorite Titans; I want to support Respawn, and buying a few Primes seems like a nice easy win in that regard. Does that answer your query?

Paid map packs split the community, and lord knows this community needs to be held together. And this update comes with a map (though, I assume you don't mean a remade one).

Ok so they are skins. I actually didn't know because of how similar they looked. I assumed they looked different, but couldn't actually tell. I really do play the game allot, and even i couldn't tell if someone has a prime titan or not. In terms of the maps, i know how map packs split the user base, but they have brought over too many old maps. Especially when Glitch is an amazing map for all modes, and Live Fire being a great addition as well. It shows the new stuff has great potential, but we're mostly getting Titanfall 1 maps and "prime titans".

I guess what i'm getting at is that i'm disappointed by the games DLC so far. I thought the first game did it better. Since the player base for this game dropped significantly, i think in hindsight Titanfall 2 would have been just fine with with doing paid map packs of new content since the user base thats still playing are probably people who would have bought them anyway.

Hyper, from a community still

Well I'm really good 😊

But seriously I end up top 3 every game so it's not that bad

I just played Glitch in standard Attrition rotation (the only mode with active players in Brazil on Xbox One) for the first time since release, and yet, I played the shittiest maps on earth, Crash Site and Complex, way too many times. Let us pick maps Respawn, so I can remove those shitshow maps from rotation and enjoy the awesome ones, as the remakes and Glitch!

Is it random?

Still seems kind of OP. lol

With the majority of players ejecting as soon as the doom meter appears, I see it as balanced in a sense

that and a-wall

4-5 weapons that are a 3 shot kill with any of the abilities above is just crap.

In regards to weapon balance, the Volt is pretty balanced..... if Titanfall 1 TTK were the average. Fact of the matter is, why should I bother with guns like the R201, Flatline, and Spitfire if all the SMGs besides Volt can decimate them in most situations anyway.

The Alternator (or hell, even the R97 for that matter as that gun was perfectly fine pre buff) should not be melting me if we're over 30 meters away from each other

Titanfall 2 is still perfectly playable, but I can't help but be annoyed when cheese like that happens.

Speaking as a 8.14 or so player who casually plays only pub games and tries not to tilt rage.... the base (at least on PS4) is still really varied which is good IMO. I would image in the next 3-6 months the base will still stay strong but expect the n00bs to fall off and see really only Gen 5's or above.

I have neither of those problems, game runs great and the population is fine, has been ever since they updated the matchmaking.

I guess I live in a bad spot because I have 60 MBPs internet and a very good router and my ping regularly spikes into the 70-100s and is accompanied by ridiculous audio stutter and frame drops.

That trailer reminded me of how memorable and good the Titanfall 1 maps were. As much as I love TF2, they fucked up the maps

Haven't played in a long time. Interested in what those broken loadouts consist of

might be time to pick up a new mp game, how's the game on ps4?.
that is one good trailer
trailer is hypnotic jesus. so good

Been getting back into TF2 the last 2 weeks so this new DLC is dropping at the perfect time.
Such a great shooter, the gameplay is pure sex.

It's a good time on PS4. Highly recommended.
Aside from Overwatch, it's the only console MP FPS I've ever cared about.

Everything in the trailer is legit as usual, great work by Respawn.

Not a huge fan of Ronin Prime's execution, though... The footwork looks pretty dumb.

Looking good. I wish I was better at the game, so I would play it more. I have a few good rounds and then get steamrolled by a team. A love/hate relationship with TF2.

It'd be hard to top Ronin's already top execution.

Glad you can select which execution to use in any case. Wish the Prime Titans were a little more exciting looking... bought one and while I am glad to support Respawn I don't really love the microtransaction offerings.

Such a fun looking game. Wish I played it more. Map Packs need to die, a philosophy based around fragmenting the player base is dumbfounding from bottom to top. Good to see Respawn understand this.

woah, didn't realize they'd been releasing some TF1 maps.

hrmmm, might make me consider booting this up again on PC.

curious to see how i feel about it after such a long hiatus [only played the SP, then put about 15 hourse into MP before i decided i just didn't like this new version of TF].

definitely makes me happy to see Respawn conitnuing support for the game in this way, and the generally happy responses by people in this thread.

[just wish TF2 "clicked" with me more to begin with, but excited to give it a try again soon]

Yep. I haven't had a chance to play Relic yet but Monarch is interesting.

Played a few rounds with Monarch and went straight back to Ronin.

The firepower doesn't compensate for its lack of defense. Terrible

I think that's part of the balance. You can't use him the same way you would use Tone or Ion, and he doesn't have the agility of someone like Ronin. But I've only played a small amount so I'm still learning to use Monarch properly.

I can't quite tell from pictures what's the difference between OG Ronin and the new Prime design.

Other than his sword, it looks almost the same.

Would you kindly point me where? :D
Console versions currently around $23 online at Walmart. Amazon as well (third-party used is actually below $20, dang).

This game was a fantastic buy when I got it at launch for $60. Movement is amazing, user base is still large enough to find matches for your preferred game mode, and the constant free DLC updates was a nice surprise. I still haven't even touched the single player campaign, but I've heard very good things.

I see the patch has added many zip lines into existing maps which is kinda cool. The rocky caverns map is literally littered with them.

It's well worth your time. You can blast through it in a weekend, if not a couple of decent sittings.
Difficult to tear yourself from MP, but the SP is a jolly good ride.

Seeing that there's more content available is great news for me. I'm still working my way through the original campaign. I think respawn absolutely nailed the feel of a fast paced shooter.
