TITANFALL Collector's Edition revealed

What happened to normally priced CE's with neat little collectors items. Just get sick of seeing overpriced statue CE's.

How much!!! I swear these things are getting out of hand now. Usually PC gets a discount for being open.

Artbook may be tempting to add the the huge collection but that's about it. Not even a SteelBook. I guess I'll find a scalper on eBay who's divvied it up.

Damn, that's rather expensive but that statue looks boss. For those of you who want an 18 inch giant robot toy that actually moves, you might want to look at NECA's 18 inch Gipsy Danger (it even lights up too). http://necaonline.com/41110/products/toys/large-scale-figures/pacific-rim-18-gipsy-danger-action-figure/

It's around 90 bucks so this plus titanfall would be 100 dollars less.

So there's only the vanilla version and the $250 collector's edition, and nothing in-between? I was excepting something like a $100 version without the statue perhaps, considering the extreme difference in price between the two versions.

Are you guys seriously comparing the price of this to other things? Let's compare it to groceries and utilities. Cuz we could seriously use that money for those things instead of games too.

Looks bad-ass but it's over-priced.

And that's coming from one of the idiots who payed 150 bucks for GTAV Collector's Edition.

Admittedly, my first thought was dayum, i need dat, looks cool.
Then I saw the price... unless they have cash to burn, no one in their right mind would pay $250 for that. No one.

I will. So far I have only collected Halo merchandise but I want this statue. And having recently paid 200 bucks for a mich smaller statue I think the price is totally ok.

Seriously this is a new IP. We get it they want to make it huge, but it's not huge yet. You don't make ridiculously expensive collector's editions for unproven IP's. You make them once you know the franchise is a big success.

All pre-orders are soldout ;(

Would be nice if they said how limited this version is going to be, they took the trouble to point out that every statue will be uniquely numbered. Also access to all DLC is something that I expect for this price.
Xbox One + TITANFALL Collector's Edition = $750
Point?

I want one. I hope they get released in retail outside America. For those complaining about the price, fair enough, then again I paid $2000ea or so for some of my KAWS figures and they don't look anywhere as cool as this.

The $250 price almost makes me think you're buying the statue and getting everything else for free. $250 is a pretty average price to pay for a large-scale statue of that size if not more.

I wish we had more details on who's producing the figure (Triforce? Gentle Giant? Sideshow?) and the material being used in the piece (for that price and size, it's probably polystone resin).

Well my electricity and gas bills have gone up 9.2% and 8.7% respectively as of last week so that extra is $250/£150 and then some over the course of next year.

If the statue is high quality, and we already know it's big, and it's truly limited, the price doesn't seem insane.

Remove the game from the $250 and you've got $190. How much does a nice and big art book normally cost? $30-80? Then ask yourself how much a large figurine costs.

For me it all depends on just how nice that figurine is. I'm certainly pre-ordering because I always know I can change my mind.

If that statue is made by TriForce or Gentle Giant, than the $250 price tag is a bargain!
Not if you're in the UK... $400 is about what they retail for anyway....
Wouldn't like to see the price in the UK then.
Already known

We are taking this initial deposit in US Dollars, but when you come back to pay the balance (and shipping charges) we will translate that deposit into your local currency. The retail price in the currencies we will support are €299.99 EUR, £249.99 GBP, and $399.99 AUD.

What's hilarious about an overpriced edition with no DLC from a yet unproven studio and IP ?

Studio is full of industry vets.

18" detailed statues are pricey.

These are two very simple things people fail to grasp either out of ignorance or stupidity.

This. When I first saw the price I immediately reacted. Then I saw the size of the thing and that by itself blew me away. It also looks like it is going to be HAND PAINTED. Like you said, minus the game and artbook that seems reasonable. Decisions decisions.

Agree, it all depends on the quality of the statue and available numbers of the CE.

Doesn't really matter what value you get, it's more what people are willing to pay for certain things. People kept talking about how the Vita was too expensive, but it was the same price as this. Is it worth it? Maybe yes, but the lesson learned is that there's a limit to how much people will want to pay for something, even if the value for the price is fair.

I was actually thinking just that. Depending on the quality, the figurine could definitely be a pretty good bargain. Standalone I might've expected it to be upwards of $200 by itself.

studio is proven.

They're about as unproven as any other new IP and new developer. Not everyone from Respawn is from Infinity Ward.

Until they make a successful game in their own repertoire and not riding on the "CoD" creators coattail, they're unproven.

One hell of a gamble that I'll be supporting, tho

All xbox one games are region free right? I was thinking of pre ordering from Amazon but the shipping costs would be terrible here to UAE.

Really now ? I must've been under a rock since this is respawn first game and hasn't even been released yet,Just becuse Jason West and Vince Zampella had great success at Activison/infinity ward doesn't mean it's gonna translate to success for respawn, I don't care what they did before they still have to prove themselves , studio and IP's.

I don't like the design of the mechs design in Titanfall, one would thought that western designers will make good looking mechs from now on after Pacific Rim did it right but it's not the case, Titanfall designers seems like they are trying to make the mechs even uglier than Michael Bay's transformers.
