What exactly is the argument it's not a good game?
He's not saying it's a bad game, just a game that's underserving of the hype because of what it does to be different isn't really all that different.

That's how I feel about it too. Nothing to me seems truly new, but the combination could be really great. The thing I don't get most about Titanfall is that people are making a big deal out of the 'vertical' gameplay and the pilot movement. It's like Tribes never existed, or any other number of games with jetpacks.
It looks like a fun little shooter with mechs and tribes style movement. The way people talk about it, you'd think it was the most important thing to ever happen to the shooter genre.
So ever since it's reveals I am still not sure what is everyone's obsession with this game. Why is this even so hyped? I've seen people in threads bash COD and then go on to praise Titanfall like its gonna do something new with the genre.
But from everything i've read and seen for this game, it's basically the multiplayer for COD but more Future warfare (Robots) and some jumping around from Brink. The gameplay looks pretty much EXACTLY like COD, down to the points and a thousand banners popping on the screen after a kill. Yeah they got double jump now and some running, mechs seem cool but all of this has been done many times in FPS before and probably better. Mechs pretty much look like the same gameplay but at a slower pace.
Maybe I'm jaded but I expect more of the same COD experience with a few new twists. Like every other COD clone out there.
I still wish they had ditched forced ADS gameplay to allow us to shoot while running along building accurately, but the game still looks very compelling to me.
It just gives me that feeling where Respawn has laid out the tools to make every match will unique with literally thousands of possible outcomes.
please dont be excited.
It looks like fun to me.
COD4 was a disruptive game. Why can't Titanfall do the same?It will flop, cant see the COD crowd aka
campers into mechs and parkour soldiers

Microsoft's marketing.
Just a generic shooter for me... only with robots.
Vanquish made it before...
Media is hyping it up to be the next mainstream hit ala CoD or GTA, all I see is another multiplayer shooter with robots.
Putting focus back on player movement isn't new, but it's definitely welcome in the current FPS landscape. So ever since it's reveals I am still not sure what is everyone's obsession with this game. Now you're just being disingenuous. The mobility of the players has the chance to push the shooter genre forward like absolutely no other shooters have done in the past year or so.But from everything i've read and seen for this game, it's basically the multiplayer for COD but more Future warfare (Robots) and some jumping around from Brink. I agree with OP, but people like what they like so if you don't... just leave them to it I guess...
I'm looking forward to other games much more (UC4, Infamous, Destiny, Quantum Break, Division) but if someone want's titanfall it's their choice, though I do see more excitement for it from games press than fans.

Yes, there's more excitement from the people that actually got to play it than the people that haven't. Imagine that.
I've played it and I wasnt that impressed. Spent 90% of the demo spawn camping the enemy team. There seems little point in not being in a Titan when it's available. The AI soldiers dont seem to serve any purpose other than giving the illusion of a bigger MP player count. The map we played was also kinda shit and felt too small.
