How many units of this were sold at 0.50$?

For me it is. I'm not a PC player and Titanfall shits on everything else on console from a massive height. Halo included.

The game on xbox has had and still has a healthy online base. There's no reason not to pick this up day 1, at least on the console. And not to sound like an ass but i rather them completely skip the PC. Stick with X1 and PS4. Don't waste resources on a platform that isn't going to give you the love. That's what i'd do.Did they feel it was a good thing though?
Here's what I can't shake; The game is $5 quite often with a free season pass. Free weekends aplenty, and let's say the game has seen ten million unique users.
Where are they?
You'd think the online community would've seen a modest boost? This tells me people are trying it, and deciding to skip spending a few dollars to keep it.
I hope the sequel sells like gangbusters, but it's a little worrisome given the performance of Titanfall. Especially when the game got the most important pieces right.
I'm going to be honest; I'm not going to day one the sequel, because I'm afraid of a repeat scenario. Especially on PC.
I like you, I hope you last here.
Meanwhile, I see this thread is a good one to come to if I need some more flavor for my french fries.

I'd eat something inedible if they mean 10 million sales. Game is a ghost town and petered out quickly after launch. I like some of the things they did with it, but it just didn't have enough content imo, and no real single player hurt it. Same deal with Evolve.
no matter what the number is, sales, unique player count, free games, whatever, they celebrated and are very happy with the numbers, thus the tweet, why is this hard to understand? Respawn is Very happy with 10 million something. doesn't sound like the way a few wants to read it.
That is not the title of the thread. The thread is about 10 million sales being reached. Don't complain when other people point out that tweet doesn't actually say that.

I'm guessing around 5 million.
Game flopped, don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise.
do we have any numbers on how much was made, gross? that'll answer that question. well, that along with what the projection was. After all, it was only sold on 2 consoles and PC.
how do you think Battlefront will do?, and ghosttown is not on XBO.
Maybe they're happy with Unique Player Numbers, but it doesn't seem they are happy enough about sales to actually reveal it.

They said it was the best selling Xbox one game to date.
EA doesn't really release sales numbers.
I'm guessing around 5 million.

I think battlefront will just end up a skinned battlefield and get by on the name and movie hype but I expect to be heavily disappointed with it.
And maybe 'ghost town' was a bit hyperbolic, I was talking about PC because that's what I've played it on, but that's good that it's doing well on Xbone. I very much look forward to the sequel to see if they can do things right (imo) next time.
This. And honestly, the 10 million mark at this point is significant primarily for the future sales of the sequel. PR will go quite well I think. Maybe they'll add a campaign too.it did decently for a new ip marketed mostly for a platform with a tiny userbase. iirc on xb1 alone within a month or so it sold 1 million, which was 33% of the userbase.
it's space battlefield with the star wars name, anyone thinking it's actually battlefront is kidding themselves. and based on what that guy posted in that QA thread...the implostion is going to be incredible.
Yeah I agree 5-6 million is a more conservative number, I could see that, I mean it has had a lot of sales and was on 3 platforms. That's definitely great for a new IP (multiplayer only, too).
Uh oh, link to qa thread?
I've been Alpha testing a few games and I can say Battlefront is a complete mess and is broken. Considering that their deadline for the game is in a few weeks and they still haven't fixed the majority of the in game problems let alone the connection problem me and other testers were having, yes it's going to be a mess. And even a day 1 patch won't fix all of them, I don't know too much outside what I played, but the game is indeed rushed and it's all because of Episode 7 releasing this December.
And in retrospect I also tested black ops 3 which even though it had many problems, it was no where as bad as Battlefront.
In a perfect world the game wouldn't have opened at $60, that was part of its problem. That's $600,000,000.00 in a perfect world if each game were at $60. That doesn't even include tax. That's quite a few copies of Titanfall.
Multiplayer games don't usually reach over 8 million players?10 million what the fuck. I had no idea it was that big.
but i don't believe for a second that the general, passive aggressive negativity towards the game wasn't motivated by its not being on playstation, in part
I am not sure if it is 10 M sales as it is not clarified. However even if it is players or accounts - it is impressive for any new IP. I have the game on PC but never played it. I wish them luck for TF2.
Common sense concerning vague statements and numbers not adding up is not exclusive to PC, Xbox360 and Xboxone games. Why do some people try so hard to be victims on Gaf?Exactly my thoughts.
And in extension of that comment, this thread would have a totally different vibe if Titanfall was on Playstation, exclusive or otherwise. This is NeoGAF.
I'm surprised (or not?) that this thread is going around in the same circles. Can people just not be happy for Respawn?

Not this shit again.
If the game had actually sold 10 million then the current online player count would be a lot healthier than it is. That is what people are questioning.

They cant have sold 10 million copies of this game? When i try to play there are just around 400-500 players...worldwide.
It was a interview w MN and skydart, the internet ran with it, xbox wire and a few others then ran with it, after the internet made it a thing. Again, After the LOL " have you seen titan-fall" that everyone posted in everythread after 1 MN interview. It is impressive for a new IP and we all like the underdog Respawn vs big bad Activision, but let's not hide the fact that this game got a marketing push by MS like no other. Titanfall seemed like the only thing MS wanted to talk about, hyped it through the roof... "Have you seen Titanfall?" was a recurring theme in almost all the interviews with MS's Xbox people.
The irony. Your victimization fetish continues you mean. I have no idea what blinkered is, but somehow it explains your "Whoa is we" "yaw'll is bias" conspiracies adequately.I'm not a victim at all, it doesn't affect my day to day life so I do t particularly care (so why post? I don't know...) I'm just saying how it appears to me. More laughable than the idea of people (me) being 'victims' and the 'hive mind' comments is the victim complex of people who rigidly deflect comments like mine and 'defend the honor' of NeutralGAF. If you can't see the bias towards Playstation and routine downplaying of anything remotely positive in relation to anything connected to Xbox and not Playstation in any way, you are blinkered.
And thus the cycle continues.

what platform
from what i've seen (admittedly not too recent) it's not too horrible on xb1
so you don't actually believe it sold 10 million despite selling really well on xb1 at launch, not to mention pc and 360, and actually going on firesale several times.
seriously.

Gaming is huge, Gaf is huge, things trend in, things trend out, your favorites won't always be sacred cows. Get over it dude.
