Today in No one surprised news: Phil Fish being dick again

First of all, we know way too much, it should be all about the game, and FEZ it's one of my favorite games ever.
And about Phil, i just like him a lot.
I mean, consumers always feel like they deserve something just because they're the ones who are paying money and seriously, that's just wrong, at least he is being honest.
He made a great game and he doesn't owe anything to us, finally someone doesn't have a marketing team above him giving him orders of what to do and what not to do.
Stop complaining about him, if you don't like the game, don't buy it.
It's not like every developer out there loves you guys.

Even if those emotions and being true to yourself reveal you to be an enormous ass.
There's a difference between expressing yourself candidly and being a big ol' dick. And Phil does much more of the latter, even if he's just trying to do the former.

Edit for fun: Even with the whole "because it's my opinion, I'm shielded from criticism" bit, he was still a flat out douche in the way he treated that Japanese reporter. I mean, nevermind the fact that he dismissed an entire segment of the community and industry in such an offhand way.

I guess i missed the part in which Fish got up from the podium and proceeded to give the developer a wedgie and a wet willie.
That "incident" was blown out of proportion.
If me supporting a game that I find interesting means to you "choking on dicks" then I should be the one feeling sad for you.

Whatever, man. Saw him in that movie and he was hugely unlikable. He wasn't playing a character, he's not some Kaufman-esque performance artist, he's just kind of a little baby who says stupid things very publicly.

No, Fish is the guy who's self aware enough to know what he's doing and exactly how he's portraying himself. The people crying on message boards that they're offended by things he says are the ones who have issues.
Now there's a reason to boycott if true. This is ridiculous.

I want some confirmation of that before I do the same. Not way I will buy it in that state. It's something so small that I figured we wouldn't even be worrying about something so simple.

Just because he doesn't get up and physically bully him doesn't mean he didn't act like a dick for no reason. He easily could have expressed his
negative opinion without coming off like a total dick. Its called having tact. Instead he acted like a child towards a stranger for no reason. Its not unreasonable to dislike someone after they act like that.

Why is that? If ever it comes out in a Humble Bundle that's a perfectly legitimate coarse of action. Sucks for the other developers being paired with him, though.
It's a bit of a bitter statement to make...but I don't consider it pathetic. He's antagonized himself to this point and I'm entirely unsurprised to see this reaction.

The fact people are so invested in the "gaming" culture that they can't pay $9 for a video game they want to play because they object to the person who made the game they want to pay being paid for his work is ridiculous. This isn't like he's a murder or he's gone around doing anything genuinely offensive. This is faux outrage, it's just part of a culture where tiny little incidents are blown up in to news stories for people to fill their lives with. He's just a guy fucking around on the internet but apparently that means he doesn't deserve to be paid for his work.

Getting Fez in a bundle with other games I actually want to play is the only way I would obtain Fez because I don't give a shit about it. I doubt I will ever play through Fez, I probably won't end up even installing it in my life.

One of them is very wrong.

Wait, fez is being boycotted? Is it due to the 'japanese games suck' comment from way back? Because honestly, looking at the industry today the dude has something of a point.
As for Fez, it looks interesting, bu i'm, like with most indie games, waiting for the Vita version.

You'll get no argument from me over that. If you're going to boycott something, actually boycott it. As of right now the only way I'll acquire Fez is via a Humble Bundle, since that money goes to a better cause.

I can't blame him for that. I'm currently dealing with someone like that and it's aggravating as hell to how to bow and scrap just to get what your entitled to, because of their claim to it.
