Personally i'm still hyped not like the older Tomb Raider games were that good

They were good, but Angel of Darkness basically killed the franchise and it was on life-support ever since.

It's basically just a zoom-in of the regular cover... which is a shame. CD has released some great art for Tomb Raider, I would have liked to have seen something different.

I actually like the zoomed in version better, but I agree that they should have used different pieces of art for the two different editions. Seems kind of lazy otherwise.

It would be a shame if this doesn't turn out well. I'm really hoping it does though.

I think the 'hate' is being generated by the PR people not telling us why this is a Tomb Raider game and instead telling us all the reasons why it isn't or at least doesn't appear so. That is what is putting me off at least.

Sure they're trying to appeal to new fans but they seem to be putting off the old fans at the same time. Not good when they could be your best hype-builders... but they're not.

I'm hoping it turns out to be a good Tomb Raider game not just a good game.

Yep. I mean most of the comments are mostly a reference to a poor choice of words by the development team, not actual hate. I suspect the game can still be good.

All the concerns about the gameplay are weird to me because first of all we haven't really seen all that much of the game to make any broad assumptions. They haven't even shown the hubs for example. Second, the combat in the previous Tomb Raider games was garbage and this will be infinitely better just by the virtue of not being like in Legend/Anniversary/Underworld.
