I think Animal Crossing: New Leaf is by far the better game. Both are somewhat repetitive "daily routine" games, but Tomodachi Life has much less variety and content, so it gets old a lot faster. I've been playing TL for 2-3 weeks now, and at this point I basically just check if there's any cool new clothing, hats, or interiors available. I've pretty much experienced everything gameplay-wise, I just haven't viewed all the dreams or collected all the treasures. I'm not particularly motivated to go for completion, because it seems pointless; there's nothing to show for it. Whereas with AC:NL, I felt motivated to keep playing every day for months, because there were always things I wanted to improve my house and my town. I had something to show for all that hard work -- a magnificent house and a splendiferous town.
