*Top 10 fps games of all time *

I dont know how to put them in order, but Halflife, doom, Golde*uckingEye(best console fps ever), duke nukem 3d(what you're waiting for?christimas....), blood(here's Johnny!!!!), Deus-Ex, System shock1&2.......and probably some other that im forgetting, but i didnt like the quake series that much......

Also i dont know if you would class oblivion as fps adventure , many would but i still class it as a rpg

but if thats the case oblivion would be easily in my top 5

I just wanted to be ironical. But yeah, it's the worst, especially since it looks great on a technical level and had a budget (unlike most of the other bargain bin games I listed) and considering their past history, it should've been AAA like the previous one was. The title was perfect for it, it's a zero.

I seriously loved it that much..altho it has its flaws it pretty much takes inspiration from the best fps out there and improves on them.

The controlls are smooth as butter

the Ai in resistance is hands down the best i have encounted .

The atmosphere and level design is 2nd to none and most importantly the multi player is just beyond amazing , i mean 40 players with no lag ?..wow

that being said they played it safe and im expecting them to go all out on res 2 :D

then aqain i think oblivion is the best rpg ever so what do i know lol.
 
I don't like to lump it into the FPS category since I consider it a FPA but Half Life 2 is my #1 everything under it I can't really decide what I like more.
 
Resistance is good, but it's not the best ever, it's not in the top ten, and it's a very thin experience compared to where it should be and could be. Maybe Resistance 2, but it has a LONG ways to go to get there.

Best AI, best level design? I hope to god you're joking with that. The multiplayer is fun, but it needs a lot more depth to rank up there with the best. One nice thing it has is the 40 player online with little to no lag, but it needs more than that to be great.

I almost forgot to put Quake 2 in. I loved that game soooo much.

That was the last PC game I put console type hours into. Even as a kid, I wasn't a HUGE PC game fan. Just always felt more comfortable on a console.

Solitaire on an Amstrad was one of my first gaming experiences though :lol

Prime 1 is definitely up there but I loved HL2 more. The environments, the story, the characters, and the level design are why I consider it a FPA.

Resistance suffers from the safe fault as many shooters, including the mighty HL2. The shooting part sucks. There's no connection from when you shoot to seeing the enemy react. In fact Resistance doesn't really show enemy response when they're hit, a big flaw in an otherwise spectacular game. I just finished playing the MOH: Airborne demo, same thing, crummy, unimmersive shooting.

Games like the first Perfect Dark, Halo1 to a minor extent (would work better if the AR wasn't inaccurate and weak) and a personal favorite of mine just because it does the shooting part so well; Urban Chaos: Riot Response. I can't describe it other than it just gets the feeling right. There's a powerful feeling when you shoot the gun and the enemies respond accordingly. Most games don't get the shooting right, but games like PD and UC: RR where the shooting is just done perfectly just stick in my mind forever because it's so seemingly rare these days.

I have to agree with that , that was 1 other nit pick i had with resistance .

and its also a reason why im so hyped for killzone 2 (apart from being a huge fan) but it gets the bullet impact thing..perfect :D

Yeah, it does seem to get that right, never played the first one, so I don't know how that'd compare, but those Helghast dudes feel every single shot, I love it.

HL1 got it right with the assault rifle and HL1/2 both get it VERY right with the shotgun :D, but HL2's pistol and SMG just suck (not as bad as Halo 2's horrid SMGs thankfully, those are godawful, it's like blowing raspberries). That's my other problem with HL2, no assault rifle, I want to deal death from my hands, not just from the airboat.

Yeah action quake and team dm took a ton of my time on heat.net and lan parties.

I like half life but I ened up playing so much TF and CS that I forgot the sp was any good. Still can't drag myself through Hl2 yet I may in a few years when I'm bored.

Perfect Dark was crap you could actually stand the controls, actually the franchise and I'd like to forget about it then again you like halo so it's not surprising. Love your choice of ROTT first time I played it had a riot with the dead guys coming back and shooting ya.
