We dug around the servers, and here’s the list, ranked by total Platinum Trophies earned:

Analyzing the list, I noticed some interesting trends:

These are good games – The average Metacritic score for the above games is 89 – so it’s a good bet that these games are of high enough quality that gamers are all too happy to fully explore them to find every last collectible (Assassin’s Creed II, Sly 1), or are willing to play through multiple times on the hardest levels to earn those Trophies (Uncharted, Modern Warfare, God of War)

Big sellers – We’re looking at total Platinum trophies here, so it stands to reason that games that have sold a lot of copies would have been Platinum’d a lot. That’s probably why you don’t see CSI: Fatal Conspiracy or Hannah Montana: The Movie on this list, even though they are known to be easy to Platinum.

Few multiplayer Trophies – None of the games listed have the dreaded “Hit Level 50 Rank in Multiplayer.” Even the multiplayer-heavy Modern Warfare 2 saves most of its Trophies for the campaign and Spec Ops missions. I think this is why you see Assassin’s Creed II on this list, and not AC: Brotherhood, which introduced Multiplayer to the series (and associates 10 Trophies with this mode, many of which are tough to get). Take note, developers!

These games are a couple of years old – The newest game on this list is Sly Cooper & the Theivius Raccoonus from The Sly Collection, which came out last year. The rest of the games are from 2009 or before. My theories: it takes a lot of time to grind through everything there is to see and do, and with most of these games now value-priced, many people are still picking these up and embarking on their road to the Platinum even today.


With these criteria in mind, here are a few titles I expect to see on this list a year from now: Skyrim, Jak & Daxter, another Call of Duty title, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Yup, with Trophies now on PS Vita, there’s be a whole new frontier for Trophy Hunters to explore. We’ll check back again in about a year’s time.

I'd be more interested to see the top 10 rarest ones. Star Ocean 4, White Knight Chronicles, and a few other RPGs I imagine along with some fighting games.

Those are the only ones I have from the list. I liked Infamous so much, I really should get the 2nd. I'm pretty close to getting GOW3 and Sly Cooper. I'd also have RE5 but they used copy-protected saves back when my 60GB died.

My favorite plat is Demon's Souls though.

As a person against trophies I have to admit that I have a platinum trophy for AC2.

After a regular playthrough I was at over 95%, so I just did the rest while listening to some podcast.
I never felt so empty after getting it. ;-)

Portal 2 is the only game I've Platinum'd. I'll bet that most people that crazy about the game would probably do it on the PC. (Portal 2 also has a slew of co-op trophies, which may be an obstacle to those uninterested in multiplayer.)

I liked Nier and Catherine enough to consider going for Platinum, but each of those games has some bullshit-hard trophies. (Nier's loot system is bogus, and Catherine gets insanely difficult.) I wound up settling for getting all of the endings and calling it a day. At the very least, I have a public record of the accomplishment--that's enough for me.

I have three platinums from that list (GoW 3, Uncharted 2 and Uncharted DF).

While we're on the subject, my two other plats are Demon's Souls and Terminator Salvation (probably the easiest platinum ever, me and a friend rented it).

And the part about multiplayer trophies is right on the money. I have all SP trophies for Brotherhood, but reaching lvl 50 in MP... I don't like platinums that much.

I've got platinum from the bolded games, I'm pretty close to a Platinum in God of War I and I've got Assassin's Creed II & GoWIII in my backlog. In the end, I'll probably end up getting platinum from all but Modern Warfare 2 (don't give a shit about the CoD series).

I think Demon's / Dark Souls, Bayonetta and Nier are the closest I've come. I could get them in some games but I don't feel like going out of my way for the platinum.

Most of those are pretty hard to get.
They're also very popular games, so even if the percentage of platinums is low... because so many people played them, you end up with a high number after all.

A more interesting list would be the games with the highest percentage of players achieving platinum.

I only have 2 plats: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Dead Space. I don't think I will ever get any more. Too many games to play and not enough time. I'm a little surprised that Dead Space isn't on that list. It was a popular game with easy trophies.

Sly Cooper is the only one of those that I've got, and that game is so easy my girlfriend could probably platinum it. I'm still surprised (and a bit disappointed) they didn't require all the speed runs for that platinum.

I got a platinum on MW2 and I loved it. Beating the game on Veteran was a bit frustrating on some specials but the Spec Ops missions were way too much fun.

It's because Sly is insanely easy and none of the trophies require you to do anything other than simply complete the game.

From that list I'm missing MW2, GoW 1 and 3 and Resident Evil 5 (these last three have been on my backlog for over a year now). It's also interesting how only two of those have online trophies: clearly most people don't like to play hundreds of hours just to get to the highest multiplayer level to earn one trophy. I wonder when devs will understand that.

I miss hunting trophies. I can't even remember the last time I tried to get one. ._.

From that list i have the platinum in Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2 and God of War 3. I'm missing one trophy to platinum InFamous, and that was to complete all the 21 stunts. I completed 19 of them, but after beating the game i couldnt find any place where there were 3 enemies on the roof that i could knock down. And then my PS3 went YLOD and i didnt have any backup of the savegames :\

I need to finish Impossible mode. I think I stopped playing around chapter 4. But dont get cocky was definitely annoying too, still dont know how I managed to get it.
