Top 10 Platinum'd Games on PS3

Assassin’s Creed II : easy, long collectibles but easy and interesting all along.

Modern Warfare 2 : Veteran is not that hard if you are familliar with the series. You just need a good coop partner for spec ops.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves : really easy on Crushing, easy completion of collectibles and only two MP trophies for doing one match of both mode : mp and coop.

God of War 3 : Surprise. The game is frustrating as hell in high difficulty.

Resident Evil 5 : Easy with good coop partner

inFamous : super easy, long collectible run but very entertaining with good replay value for second run.

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune : same as the second game minus MP.

God of War (GoW HD Collection) : Pretty easy too.

Borderlands : to quote the game designer " easy trophies = + 30% sales "

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection) : no idea

I have myself from this list, platinums for : Uncharted 1 & 2, AC2, Borderlands & Infamous. Really close for GoWs & MW2 though.

Assassin’s Creed II <---Almost got this one.
Modern Warfare 2
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
God of War 3
Resident Evil 5
inFamous
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
God of War (GoW HD Collection)
Borderlands
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection)

This is a really cool find.

I'm surprised Infamous is there and not Infamous 2. 2 was a much easier game to platinum, whereas I'm missing 2 or 3 trophies in 1 because the game was so frustrating.

God of War 3 is my only other platinum so far. I ended up with most of the collectibles without even using a guide, they were oddly easy to find.

I'm missing 1 trophy in burnout paradise though because I don't have any kind of digital camera to take a smugshot or whatever it's called. That's all I need for a platinum. I'm also 1 trophy away from platinuming Kingdoms of Amalur.

I only have Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and one other thing, I think. Haven't logged in to PSN in a while.

I got so close with Final Fantasy XIII but the "FIND EVERYTHING EVER" one was such a pain in the ass I just gave up. Kind of lost the desire to get these after that.

Out of my 26 plats, I got 5 of those:

Assassin's Creed II
Uncharted 2
inFamous
Borderlands
Sly 1

And I platinum'd Drake's Fortune before trophies ever existed.

The only one I haven't earned Platinum (or even completed for that matter) is Borderlands and I've bought the damn game 3 times now. It's relatively high on the backlog pile, so maybe it'll be gotten to this year...

I'm surprised Infamous is there and not Infamous 2. 2 was a much easier game to platinum, whereas I'm missing 2 or 3 trophies in 1 because the game was so frustrating.

Not surprising at all, the first inFAMOUS was a gift last year thanks to the PSN debacle.

Assassin’s Creed II
Modern Warfare 2
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
God of War 3

Resident Evil 5
inFamous
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
God of War (GoW HD Collection)
Borderlands
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection)

No interest in RE5. Borderlands maybe if Borderlands 2 is there, might buy the Sly collection when it's cheap as hell.

I second the list for rare platinums, as someone who has platinumed GTAIV, Demon's Souls, and Killzone 2, I want to see if I am part of that select group.

http://www.psnprofiles.com/Goldrusher

That's a pretty awesome site if you want personal stats. Lots of percentages, milestones, rarity of your trophies, etc.

You have 0 PSN friends. Haha. :P

In all seriousness that looks pretty neat and really should have been what the official PSN site is.

The only platinums I bothered to get so far were for the first 2 Uncharted games. They were very fun and reasonable challenges.

Right now I'm working on getting the ones for MGS 2, 3, and 4 oh wait

I don't have any of those, lol.

I have 5 on my US account and 4 on my JP account.

The five on my US account were pretty easy, but one was quite frustrating. FFXIII-2, Last Rebellion, Sonic Generations, and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection were easy. FFXIII was frustrating towards the end with the weapons bs.

The four on my JP account were ok, but time consuming. Tales of Graces (fun but the Gentleman's trophy kinda sucked at times), Tales of Xillia (lots of grinding), Trinity Universe (consumes your life for 120+ hours), and Cross Edge (again, 130-160 hours). Edit: I would have the Red Seeds Profile plat but I missed a Sigourney quest, but I kinda want to replay the game on my US account to get the plat there.

I'm close to Nier's plat but I guess I dropped it since I got really busy and didn't go back to plat it. I really should since I was so close...

With these criteria in mind, here are a few titles I expect to see on this list a year from now: Skyrim, Jak & Daxter, another Call of Duty title, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Yup, with Trophies now on PS Vita, there’s be a whole new frontier for Trophy Hunters to explore. We’ll check back again in about a year’s time.

Not a chance - those Bounty trophies require a severe amount of time to obtain. They're a total fucking pain in the arse!

I want to get at least one Platinum on my record just to say I did it. UC1 would probably be the one if I ever decided to play through on Crushing.

ACII was my first platinum, and I got it naturally I think, barring maybe one trophy? So I honestly thought they were all that easy. Ha, oh noooo.

Have seven plats now:
Assassin's Creed II
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Final Fantasy XIII
ICO
God of War
God of War II

All were fun to go for. Don't usually bother if they aren't. Of those, AC Bro was the most difficult, by far.

I have like 38 platinums......I've got a problem.

And no, nothing like Terminator Salvation, the games I play are all very respectable. Out of the top 10, I'm missing Borderlands and inFamous, I just for some reason quit with trying to get the shards in Infamous (only trophy I need), never got around to Borderlands.

Assassin’s Creed II
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Resident Evil 5
inFamous
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
Borderlands

Got these. All pretty easy. Uncharted are the easiest I'd say. I would have God of War 3 but I cringe at the though of some of the boss fights on the hardest difficulty so I havent attempted it yet.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/03/02/trophy-hunters-here-are-your-top-10-platinums/

We dug around the servers, and here’s the list, ranked by total Platinum Trophies earned:

Assassin’s Creed II
Modern Warfare 2
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
God of War 3
Resident Evil 5
inFamous
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
God of War (GoW HD Collection)
Borderlands
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection)

Wow, I dont have all that many plats or 1000/1000 games, but I have most of those either on PS3 or 360.

only plat i have is demon's souls. 1 trophy left (knight's) for the dark souls plat. would've got it sooner but i play too many different characters.

off that list, borderlands at 61%, uncharted 2 at 26%, inFamous at 53%, GoW collection 5%. Resi5 12% (I have finished it playing local co-op on a friend's 360). i'm not likely to go back to any of those games, don't see the point in grinding out platinums unless i really enjoy playing the game.

inFAMOUS
Batman Arkham Asylum
Borderlands
Dead Space
God of War 3

Are my plats, so three of my five are on the list. Would like to know what games sold well but are rarely platinum'd.

Only Platinum I've gotten is for Final Fantasy XIII. I usually don't care about going for platinums because I've had my trophies reset twice, or I'd have more

i have 5 from the list - uc2,gow3,re5,inf,borderlands. the only difficulty spots i can remember in any of them was ndesu/jill-wesker fight on prof and a couple of the stunts in infamous.

Assassin’s Creed II
Modern Warfare 2
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
God of War 3
Resident Evil 5

inFamous
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
God of War (GoW HD Collection)
Borderlands
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection)

Bolded are the ones I got a platinum for.

Not surprised, a lot of these are accessible and easy to platinum, plus are fantastic titles.

Resident Evil 5 is my first ever Platinum and got me in to getting many more.

The only game off of that list that I STILL wanted to play after the platinum is Assassin's Creed II. One of my favourite games on the PS3.

My Killzone 2 platinum was harder than all of those combined.

Killzone 2 only had the elite difficulty that made it a chore. The final charge to the Radek boss fight including the boss fight itself was a pain in the ass for me. The top % multiplayer trophies were pretty easy to get if you played a few hours a week around launch time when the amount of players were at it's peak. I'd imagine right now they'd be impossible to get unless you spent all day/week playing the game.

I'd say it's an average platinum.

RE5 platinum is a pain in the ass to get. It has those annoying ass multiplayer trophies just like other games.

Those are all DLC trophies. It does take awhile to get the RE5 platinum, though the process is somewhat trivialized by the fact that the game lets you use infinite ammo weapons on your first run through professional.

Of that list, the only platinums I don't have are GOW1 (played it on PS2, didn't want to replay) and Modern Warfare 2 (because I've never played it). Pretty crazy I have all the rest.

RE5 platinum is a pain in the ass to get. It has those annoying ass multiplayer trophies just like other games.

Not true. The multiplayer trophies and modes themselves were added in DLC. They, like all DLC trophies, have no bearing on the core game's platinum. The only thing it affects is the total trophy percentage count next to the title's name. So you can't get 100% without the dlc trophies, but the platinum will appear next to the percentage as soon as you acquire it.

edit: mother effer..beaaten by a hair. And yes, went back to RE5 after 3 years to finish the plat and in total I'd say it takes a good 40 hours after multiple runs (I did <5 hour easy run for the infinite rocket launcher as well) and the money grinding.

Assassin’s Creed II <-- Got 84% on the first playthrough without even trying hard
God of War 3 <-- I still need to get this...
Resident Evil 5 <-- About 32%, I think I'll Platinum this one day
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection) <-- I heard very good things about this game, is it really that good?

Other games which I've got some significant progress are Alice Madness Returns (96% almost there!), Gran Turismo 5 (~70% and I think I'm also done) and Darksiders

Which makes me think... I still haven't got a single Platinum!

Few multiplayer Trophies – Take note, developers!

Yeah! Take note indeeed!

The five on my US account were pretty easy, but one was quite frustrating. FFXIII-2, Last Rebellion, Sonic Generations, and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection were easy. FFXIII was frustrating towards the end with the weapons bs.

You platinum'd Last Rebellion? How was it? I remember thinking about getting it but then giving up on it after hearing only bad things about the game. Is it very long? How are the plot and characters?

I found the El Gigante on professional in RE5 to be the biggest piece of shit ever. It took me hours to beat him with the useless Sheva AI. I finished the rest of the game in co-op on pro but had to do that boss myself. Otherwise that was a really easy plat.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection) <-- I heard very good things about this game, is it really that good?

Yes, the Sly Collection is great! This first one is the best, and one of the best platformers last gen. The other two have way too many mini games but are still quite fun.

Only game from that list I platinum'd is God of War 3. God of War 1 & 2 are both at the 80% mark but those challenges are tough. Only other platinum I have is for Crysis. That was relatively easy.

Assassin's Creed 2 is my only platinum, and I'm not particularly close to platting any other game.

I like it this way, because AC2 is head-and-shoulders above just about everything else I've played on the PS3, and it deserves to have that spot as my most-trophied game. I loved it from start to finish.

(No chance of a Valkyria Chronicles trophy patch, huh? I'd play that again from scratch just to get the trophies and advertise the game's greatness on my PSN profile...)

Goldrusher, thanks for that amazing link! I'd had no idea that that site even existed; wow, look at all that info!

Trivia from a brief glance at my profile:

* Only 18% of the people who play Nier get to Ending C. Come on, people, this is an amazing game! Play it, again and again!

* All of my ultra-rare trophies are from Wipeout HD. Roughly 97% of the people who play WOHD never get to trophies like Hold Your Fire and Stats Life. And I only have half of what WOHD has to offer. THe WOHD platinum must be something that less than 1% of people who start the game ever get to.

* It sure is annoying seeing games with no trophies cluttering up my list. I have Ashes Cricket 2009 but (being ignorant of cricket and just wanting to give the game a shot because the sport does sound fascinating) will probably never get a trophy in it; MLB 09 The Show, while a fine game, has trophies that demand a little more playing time that I have. My Dead Space 2 save file had a bug and I sold the game; Uncharted I'm just incompetent at so I have but 1 trophy there.

* Very happy to not see my Demon's Souls trophies on the "rare" list. That means people are sticking with this hard-but-rewarding game!

I don't have any of those, lol.

Get AC2 and play it. You will not be disappointed. At one point you will get to fight someone as a chant of Ave Maria in historically-correct Italianized (Ecclesiastical) Latin is mixed into the background music. If that's not worthy of a platinum effort from every gamer, I don't know what is.
