I enjoy games like Beyond Good and Evil, Zelda, Fable... metal gear, and really like FF3 and FF7. I also like sports and God of War plus Wanda and Colosus seem very interesting to me.

I strongly recommend the Jak series. Also, if you like action/adventure, you would probably like the Onimusha series (all very cheap) and the Maximo series (also cheap), although these two series probably wouldn't crack my personal top 10

Before whatever other 8 titles you decide are worthy, you must get Gradius V and Rygar The Legendary Adventure. It's the right thing to do, buddy.

I recently bought a PS2 after owning a Gamecube and Xbox this whole generation.
Here's what I have:

Devil May Cry
God of War
Ico
Katamari Damacy
Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance
Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater (GET SUBSISTENCE!)
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 3
Twisted Metal Black
Zone of the Enders (GET THE SECOND RUNNER!)

That's just what I currently own and feel you can't really go wrong if you use something like that as a top ten. :)

If anything I'd probably replace Devil May Cry with something else, it's not as AAA as I thought it was going to be.

What big PS2 games, that are not multiformat and are not called Shadow of the Colossus or Kingdom Hearts 2 (hopefully), are being released this xmas? Haven't been paying much attention to the PS2 line-up lately, only in the RPG department really.

The only way to improve a weekend spent with MGS3 would involve hookers and drugs or possibly a hi-tech hooker themed futuristic fun fair of some kind.

"Big" is somewhat relative. We're also getting the DQVIII game, Soul Calibur III and SOCOM III.

And there's a trillion other games that look great, but that I can't really qualify with selling potential yet. Something like Makai Kingdom isn't going to sell well, but perhaps a Radiata Stories will? Maybe MGS3: Subsistence will pull in decent numbers? You got the Jak X, the Ratchet Deadlocked, Sly 3, We Love Katamari, etc...

Beyond XMAS, you still got FFXII, Grandia III, Okami and whatever else we get down the line.
