Top Chef Season 7 |OT|

I'm glad Kelly didn't go home, because she's clearly one of the very best in this competition. Aside from this week's episode, she's also been one of the most consistent. I did like Andrea, and I was sad to see her go. She's far better than some of the other people left (Stephen, Alex, Cokehead, Kevin).

I want to strangle Cokehead. What an obnoxious, immature bitch. "I guess that's what you get when you don't share." Go fuck yourself, you annoying cunt. Bring your own fucking salt next time instead of having to mooch off everyone else.

Going by what we saw, Alex clearly stole Ed's puree. The camera crew and the editors must know the truth, and it's puzzling that Tom was completely oblivious to it. Hopefully, they'll pull out the tape at the reunion and we'll see some sort of resolution to it. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out. The field is small enough now that every chef should have pretty much their entire cooking process recorded. If they have no footage of Alex making the puree, then obviously, he stole it from Ed.

And speaking of the editing, I continue to be appalled by the horrific audio editing. It's just godawful this season. Not that it's exactly been perfect in the past, but almost every single voice-over sounds like it's been chopped to pieces and haphazardly reassembled.

Padma is really getting it done to her with the intros of people. It'll cut back and forth as she introduces each of the judges.

Yeah, it's getting to be worse than The Amazing Race, which is the standard-bearer for bad and/or misleading audio editing.

Although it's actually better now in one case: Tom. In the first season or two, his judges' table comments were re-dubbed all the time. He must've gotten better with off-the-cuff comments since then, or the editors just backed off.

The main counter to your argument is that the ratings boost from being able to show a chef stealing would be enormous, and Bravo certainly would not be saving it for a reunion show. I really don't think there's footage, and as such while we can suspect the theft (and the producers certainly want us to with the flashback and Kenny comment), there simply is no evidence.

One could also argue that saving the footage for the reunion while running promos saying "FIND OUT THE TRUTH ABOUT ALEX AND THE PEA PUREE" could significantly boost the ratings for the reunion show, which I'm willing to bet gets very poor ratings compared to the normal episodes.

the only reason to watch this season is to gawk at Padma's ridiculous post-birth body and Kenny's overuse of the term 'alpha-male'.

Seriously she is fucking annoying and such a panic-noob.

I work with a guy who is easily flustered when orders start coming in like crazy and a single customer throws a curveball (i.e. complicated order). I know at that point if he makes a single mistake hes gonna start bitching and rushing thus being more unorganized.

Sometimes I'd rather tell him to do something else while I cook but I can't just force him off his station.

She needs to learn to calm the fuck down.

I don't get the hate for her. Unlike previous contestants who were shunned by the others, she actualy has talent and has beat the ones that talk bad about her. Her act of not knowing what to do really is annoying, but shows how orginal she is as they liked her dish and couldn't stand Kelly's. I feel sorry for her, but her panicking gets her in trouble. If I were the others though, that would send up a red flag that she's going to figure it out instead of slacking on your own dish.

She literally cooked a huge steak with salt. That was grounds to go home. She was just fortunate that someone made a truly horrible dish.

Not a surprising result. Stephen was lucky to be around this long. He seems like a really cool guy, but he was clearly in over his head. There are some excellent chefs who are just not good at Top Chef, and Stephen is one of them.

The Quickfire was weird. Cook Ethiopian...and? It seemed really vague to me.

Tiffany is really cool, and I hope she wins it all.

The promos made this season's Restaurant Wars look extra crazy. And considering almost all of the cheftestants are insane, I don't think they're exaggerating.

I still say Sefan got bored and gave up. And that either it or season two is the worst season. (Until now?!?)
The only possible way this season could be worse than Season 5 would be if Alex won. Even in a poor season, Hosea winning was a fucking joke.

Sam was awesome. And was better than any chef that year.

This season is shitty though. Talent level is really low, worse than season 5.

How is Alex still there? Every week I assume he will go, and he somehow manages to get by.

That is how I feel about Amanda.. She always seems like she doesn't know shit and just throws stuff together but still manages to stick around. I guess I just never got over the cooking with alcohol when serving to kids bit.

Her and Alex need to go asap.

at least she seems to have a specialty (grilled meat)

alex is just...

Cokehead using sherry for a school lunch is one of the most hilariously stupid acts in Top Chef history.

Man, I wish she would have gotten axed that episode.

So Alex is going to be the Robin of this season?

Dont even bring her up in here man!

God damn I still think she was one of the worst people to last halfway through the competition in the seasons I watched so far (5, 6, and now 7)

She couldn't cook for shit, had no focus, and just wasn't interesting in her food ideas.

To think that she lasted as long as she did against the Voltaggio Brothers, Kevin, and Jennifer.

Also I'm pretty sad I wasn't able to be able to eat at The Dining Room where Michael Voltaggio was the chef while he was there. Hopefully he will do something in Los Angeles soon.

I thought they were dominating the whole thing until the judges started eating the food.

Kenny, Kevin, that's not going to work I don't think.

Wow, what a horrible judge's table. I don't like Alex and it's clear he pretty much flew by on the coattails of his teammates, there is no question he shouldn't be there. However, Kenny's insistence in bringing up what the other team did or did not do, when his own dishes have been evaluated as inadequate, is pretty disgusting. Just exactly does it have anything to do with how he executed his food? This season is completely unappealing.

EDIT: Yep, good riddance. Should worry less about other people and more about what you put out there. Started strong but ended really as someone that was too full of himself, even more than Angelo.

The editing this season is off. First we have that whole stolen pea puree debacle. and now this. They focused way to much on Kenny vs Angelo and with weeks to go one of them has been eliminated. God help them if Angelo goes next week.

That was a hilarious clusterfuck of an episode.

Truth be told, I already know who the final five are, and that Kenny wasn't one of them. That said, I didn't know when exactly he would go home. He very much deserved it tonight. Goat cheese is delicious, but extremely powerful. I couldn't imagine eating that large of a portion of it.

Blue Team's bitching was really lame, but pretty hilarious. Clearly, Alex had the very worst performance out of anyone, but it's a team challenge, and the losing team is the one that gets a member sent home. Blue Team was so convinced that everything was perfect that they could not comprehend that they lost. Basically, it was a spectacular case of sour grapes.

I'm just glad we don't have any more "Alpha Dog" or "Beast" bullshit from Kenny. The dude has talent and is an extremely hard worker, but he clearly needs to refine his cooking.

He was told almost every week that he was using too many ingredients, but he kept doing it. And this was the fourth time he was in the bottom, and has only been in the top twice. Kevin and Stephen (out last week) were the only others this season to be in the bottom four times.

Then again, to be fair, going back a few seasons, Lisa was in the bottom on six of the last seven challenges (and her team lost Wedding Wars) and she made the finale. So being bad over and over doesn't mean much as long as someone is always worse.

Still, if you're the Alpha Beast you should probably do better than that.

Sad to see Kenny go but they had no choice to eliminate him. The judges had already warned him to edit himself and he didn't listen.

Still think Kenny was the 1st or 2nd best chef there and he was the primary reason I watched. It will be less of a show without him.

Okay, but he is not only far far more talented but also more interesting (even if you dislike him, at least he makes an impression) than Alex. Alex can't even be shitty in an entertaining way, even when he is stealing.

I don't disagree.

But for Kenny and the rest of his team to play the "Bu...bu...but Alex didn't do anything," card was really pathetic. These people know how group challenges work. If your group loses, one of you is going home. It's as simple as that.

So glad Kenny is out, his cockiness was just way too much. Their have been many contestants that have swag, and most of them can cook really well (Hung being a great example). Him the other hand just tried way too much in almost all of his dishes. It was hit, it was a miss.

It's going to be Ed, Kelly and Angelo in the finals.

This wasn't true Restaurant Wars. They already had the concept of the place and all the stuff was there already.

Alex is a big bitch. I have no clue how he is still there

I thought they stopped designing the place when they made the hostess make a dish too. I can't remember the exact reasons though.

Kevin was right about Alex even though he should have kept his mouth shut. The reality was that his team carried him in the challenge and Alex was fine with it which is often the case when someone is the host. He didn't even have a choice regarding host duties so I understand completely why he didn't go home this time.

I also understand why they wouldn't have lost the challenge just to get rid of Alex who was truly horrible as a host and would have went home especially without a real dish too.

I'm glad Kenny's gone. He got on my nerves for the last time when he accused his being up at the judges table for jealousy and the judge said she didn't like the food either and could spend an episode telling why.:lol

Exactly. Setting up Kenny vs Angelo when you know that Kenny isn't going to make it to the Final? It might just show that they had little to work with this season and grasped to anything they could. Actually the Kenny/Angelo showdown was something I was looking forward to. Now, there isn't much attraction to the show.

Such a group of unlikable and boring people. I think Tiffany is the only one I like out of the entire group.
