how did you even manage that? I had no water or anything6 hours without power. Super fun times cooking ramen in the dark.
Other than water bottles of course.

No, it's about 15 mins from downtown, nowhere near the museum which is in the middle of the city. I'm pretty sure that's facing south just before Burnhamthorpe after you pass the airport.

damnn son, all the power outer outages lately have convinced me that I should get a power supply. Would make life during these times so easy. They seem to happen often too.I had water still, and a portable gas burner for hotpot
Sorry I meant the Ontario Science Centre, I am probably wrong as well.

I'm just so fucking happy to get my power back.
But I'm not even exaggerating when I say the drive home was a horrifying experience. Couldn't see a thing. Couldn't see lights of cars ahead of me, couldn't see any lines couldn't see trafic lights, literally nothing. Completely blind driving. I almost died 70 times. But I don't care because it's how I dooz it.
Going to bed, stay safe gaf!
my friend is still stuck outside :S He was rescuing his mom (she ran out of gas) but he got stuck too

WEATHER: Things seem to be settling down so now seems to be a good time to take stock of some rainfall numbers as of 10:30:
PEARSON: 123 mms
CITY: 91 mms
ISLAND: 84 mms
OSHAWA: 4 mms
Some perspective: During Hurricane Hazel, Toronto's Pearson Airport (or Malton as it was then) experienced 107 mms in the first 12 hours (it would eventually see 137 mms, according to Environment Canada).
Wettest. Day. Ever. Let's see what tomorrow brings...
I just took 401 east from Pickering upto DVP/404 and it was fine. This was around 11pm though. There were patches where the highway lights were out but no flooding on the highway.401 east should be okay today, right?
i am waiting for the pic of a canadian paddling a canoe through downtown
seriously though, stay safe Canada-GAF

Hmm. Well, I'm hoping things keep clear tomorrow in Scarborough.
Really just hoping everything goes back to normal downtown by Friday.
I think Everything is back to normal. So much for my fantasies of a rain day off work.
Wooo power is out in my office building. No work today!
Bah! I'm sitting here in my office.
Subways are operating fine for the most part. Except for the one stretch of closures. Made it in on time. :/
So I guess Montreal is next. We're probably due.
Forecast only says 10 mm tomorrow and a couple mm each day after that over here.
I checked in with my friend living in the Toronto burbs. they had lost power, of course, and he was checking new on his car radio, parked in the driveway. But they had lots of bottled water and dry food to eat.
I'm curious if he managed to make it in to work today.

been living in Toronto for 15 years, never seen rain like this before! It was epic!
Yes. Lakeshore was in various states of flooding.Any word on the races this weekend? Was the flooding in the area that IndyCar will be using on Friday, Saturday and Sunday?
That sucks. The event certainly brings in revenue for the city and IndyCar puts on a good show there each year. I hope everyone is ok and things clear up by the weekend. Sorry to hear so many are being affected by all the rain!Yes. Lakeshore was in various states of flooding.
Apparently you missed the whole flood thing going on in Alberta..I swear it seems like the Eastern half of North America is getting abnormally large amounts of rain while the western half of the continent is just baking away in the heat.
