As a Total Recall remake it looks shit but as a new sci-fi movie it looks pretty nice. A bit of a fifth element vibe to its city.

"You havent even begun to see me try to kill you" is one of the most cringe worthy movie lines I have heard in a long time.

This looks exactly like how I imagined Len Wisemen's take on Total Recall would look like.

"You havent even begun to see me try to kill you" is one of the most cringe worthy movie lines I have heard in a long time.

With the script being cowritten by hack extraordinaire Kurt Wimmer, that won't even be the worst line in the entire film!

I'm so conflicted. Clearly won't hold a candle to the original, but looks entertaining enough on its own. Cringeworthy dialog and goofy Harold cameo, but dat Cranston. Aesthetic is clearly trying to evoke Blade Runner, but the effects look good and I'm OK with it. I'd guess this will be fun enough for one viewing but I doubt it's something I'd go back to repeatedly like the original.

Nice to see Bokeem Woodbine, though!

Dude will always be Diquan to me:

idk, this looks damn cool to me (saw it during the NBA game).

Does it look like total recall? not sure, but damn if it doesn't look good on it's own.

Will see.

Super meh. Hate this new lens flared out the ass scifi look all these movies have these days. Makes me appreciate what the Berg did with Minority Report all the more.

Looks interesting, it appears to have a completley different tone than the Schwarzenegger one which kind of justifies the remake

Sure, why not. Still wish we didn't have to "remake" everything to have a profitable name around it.

It's what happens when banking institutions are fronting all the money for big budget films.

Minimize risk and maximize profitability.

What you get is familiar names and properties getting greenlit and little to no risk taken.

The first film was loosely based on the original book and this one looks like it will be its own thing too (if a little more closely related to the film). Dropping Mars and going with awesome future China versus future America/Europe with multinational corporations (Deus Ex and a billion sci-fi books) seems like a much smarter way to go considering there are far too few films that do that. Also robots remind me of Mass Effect robots which I think look cool.

-The original is still a perfectly watchable movie, there is no need for a remake.
-They don't even go to Mars? What in the fuck
-Oh they casted him? And him? AND HIM? Alright I'm in

Colin Farrell
Kate Beckinsale
Jessica Biel

All the hottest stars from 2002.

It doesn't look bad. But I'm more tempted to pop in my Blu Ray copy of the original than I am to see this.
