Couldn't find any main Total Recall thread, but I was just at rotten tomatoes and noticed that this is due out on the 6th of july, kinda instantly put down by the lack of reviews so close to release.

Does anybody know when the premier is, and if there is an embargo date for reviews.

This isn't out until August 3rd, in the US at least.

Not unless the producers go into the Total Rekall machine & set it to a make believe world where this will do any money.

Huh?

having seen the trailer this move has, on the surface, everything i want in a sci fi movie, yet i watch the trailer and i feel nothing

very strange

One thing I can't stand is that Kate Beckinsale looks sexy and sultry at every single fucking moment. Like, she only has one look, whether she's in bed or getting ready for battle. It's ridiculous.
I.....don't have a problem with this.

Oh man, why did they put the 3 boobs on a hot girl. Am I supposed to fap to the director's cut now?

Also, Jessica Biel is playing the good girl? She should play the slut and show off her ass. Terrible just terrible.

I'm hoping this movie won't be terrible. The trailer doesn't make it look that bad but if the dialogue in the trailer is any indication of the final product, I'm not that hopeful about it. It's not a good sign to cringe multiple times at dialogue in a trailer. And it's PG-13. Blah. Still want to see it though because i'm a sucker for sci-fi.

I'm very interested in the film. The original, while cheesy as fuck, was awesome! The three titted lady, Arnold's eyes bugging out of his skull, the scene with the drop of sweat dripping down the guy's forehead, the little monster that comes out of the guys chest and he's like Quaaaaaaaid! So fucking awesome!!

Any way you cut it, this is guaranteed to be the best sci-fi film of the summer!

Wiseman says the Theatrical cut isn't his true Director's Cut

http://collider.com/total-recall-directors-cut-len-wiseman/182603/

the Blu-ray will have a director’s cut that includes 17 minutes of additional footage. Per Wiseman, the director’s cut spends more time on “the fantasy vs. reality and the kind of chess game that is played.”

Theatrical is around 118 minutes, so the DC would be about 135 minutes

Heard from one person it was super dull and another liked it on a very basic level, but thinks it will get trashed by critics. Suffice to say, I'm skipping my screening on Wed. because I just can't waste any of my life watching something Len Wiseman and Kurt Wimmer created.

This looks bad. There are so many other untouched science fiction novels to adapt. Altered Carbon?
I would kill for a movie adaptation of that series! Loved it.

That latest trailer was awful - and they revealed one of the big twists!

If you have a free screening, I say watch it for them:

Also, so that you can tell me if it's worth watching.

This is gonna be such a flop. No bankable star, 200 million budget, no buzz at all minus the 3 boobs chick, PG13, too much green screen, Dark Knight still popular, Bourne Legacy will destroy any legs it could have, etc.

Pretty sure Colin Farrel is poison at this point. Bryan Cranston deserve better than this, why not making him the lead?

Im surprised Rihanna isnt in this.

The trailer tells you all you need to know.

The trailer is clearly designed to remind you of the original movie. It shows his friend telling him not to go to rekall, shows him going to rekall and going nuts, shows his wife is secretly an agent, shows the part where someone he knows tries to convince him he's still dreaming, implies the presence of the 3-boobed chick... Except for the flying car chase, the trailer is basically just a recap.

Got invited to a free screening from VISA for tomorrow night. Don't really have anything better to do and you get free drinks and popcorn for you and a guest. :D

Should at least be some mindless fun (i hope). Got my 3DD glasses ready. I do find it hilarious though that they tell you not to bring your cell phone to a screening that is literally hours before release. Oh well...better safe than sorry I guess.

There was a press screening near here Monday night and one of our reporters went to see it. She came back saying she didn't really care for it because the story was confusing and the action was boring. But t his is also someone that saw the original and didn't know there was any subplot to it at all. She took the whole movie on face value. Not sure I'll put much stock in her opinion.

I watched the original last night, I don't quite see how it became a classic. Usually these scifis have a cool world that nerds can attach themselves to but this just had one building on Mars. At least the remake seems to be doing something interesting, even if it is just copying the fifth element.

"Consider that a divorce" made a me laugh.
