First of all, I have to believe that only these two areas are unharmed from whatever chemicals floating around? Even though in case of Europe they are just a subway ride from that no-go zone? In what war would the chemicals be distributed EVERYWHERE, even in some remote south American rain forest or whatever.
Only the resistance was clever enough to build air-locks and use gas-masks?
The Fall must be the most stupid thing in a movie in a long time. Let's start with why they don't just use airplanes? WHY WHY WHY?
Ok, enough. Now let's pretend that elevator is even possible (and it isn't, there is magma everywhere. DAT temperature, DAT pressure. Mountain-sized rocks floating around hitting that stupid tunnel.), IIRC the elevator takes 17 minutes through the earth.
That's roughly 12 km / s. Top speed is actually faster because they go slightly around the core

lol) and they are decelerating before arrival.
Apart from them casually standing ON the moving elevator like it was nothing, at that speed (and normal air pressure) that's more than enough to burn that stupid elevator up like a meteor...
And dammit Aussies, if you are afraid of an invasion and desperately seek your independence, just close that hole. DONE.
Also, those are the weakest robot soldiers ever. There is no reason they couldn't just squash a human like it was nothing. Yet our hero is punching them in the face and can wrestle with them.
Worst scene was definitely them trying to convince Quaid that he's stuck in a simulation. It worked in the original but it made NO sense here. Mostly because he was NOT alone. Yet Biel's character kinda gives up in arguing that this isn't real. It even seems like she's thinking "mh, woah, maybe I don't exist and he's just dreaming me!" :lol
