looks pretty advanced for pre-alpha.
Why wouldn't it? It's Warscape again just building on what they have with Rome 2. If they showed a very early looking game, I'd have been hugely surprised.

As someone who tried to get back on my Athens campaign last month, it really isn't.
youll get me back when you put out a warhammer or other fantasy based TW game

I'm not sure if fantasy TW would be a good idea. I would like CA to make a game like this, but calling it Total War wouldn't feel right.
Attila and his forces are not a faction in the traditional sense and canÂ’t be played. TheyÂ’re more like a force of nature that sweeps across the map, destroying and spoiling everything they touch.
FWIW, I'm a big TW fan.
Maybe I'm still sore about the Rome II pre-order but I agree, this is a pretty disappointing announcement.
Another Barbarian Invasion? Meh.
You might want to start a new campaign too. I noticed that some of the changes with AI and stuff didn't really work with some of my campaigns I had going from around launch but when I started a new campaign, the game played a little differently.
Last month? The Emperor Edition was released only 9 days ago. It's the single biggest update since release and what's people are referring to when they say the game is fixed.

Obviously it's not perfect yet and never will be just like the previous Total War games but it can finally be considered good. It only took them a year but it's finally what it should have been at release. I hope the they continue to update it despite Attila.
Total War: ATTILA is due for release in 2015 on Windows PC and Mac. For more information, please visit www.totalwar.com.
There's plenty legitimate criticisms to make about Total War games, R2 in general but it's like people are ignorant of the fact it has been patched consistently throughout the year into something that doesn't resemble the admittedly hot mess that it was at launch.Reading anything having to do with Rome 2 is tiring as you have to wade through all the drive-by one-liners of "hope it's better than the garbage that was Rome 2, amirite?".
OK, yes, it wasn't CA's best release, but the damn thing still got a 76 metacritic. X: Rebirth it was not.
I feel a little bit like I am the "Leave Total War alone!" brigade, but I don't like the idea of one of the very few somewhat AAA strategy games getting so pilloried when the gameplay it offers is fairly unique even among strategy games, much less games as a whole, and the devs have done a bunch to make up for the launch issues.
That is not a Warhammer game.... *leaves disappointed*
Can they finaly wake up and make the multiplayer campaign ( versus/coop.. at least versus... ) more than 2 player max ?
By the way, Rome 2 is on a free weekend on Steam if people want to give it a try.
Apparently the majority of fans only care about Rome anyway. But it's AtiLLa
Finally we get a game about the Hun/Turkic steppe warriors!
edit: they still focus on Rome? meh
The only thing is you don't get the DLC/expansions for those games in the master collection. Something like Med2 Kingdoms feels like really essential (most mods are based off that) and most of the DLCs for the later games are pretty fun to use as well.Lame... they removed the basic Rome II from the store and aren't discounting the Emperor Edition. Of course all of the DLC is discounted if you had already purchase the game.
Also, you can currently get every Total War game, including Emperor Edition, for 4 cents more than just Rome II: Emperor Edition.

I would LOVE a Warhammer 40k total war game.
They got the rights of the Fantasy version, no the 40K one.
Not Warhammer? Excellent!

I don't understand posts like this. You know, when they inevitably do release a Warhammer game, you have the option of not buying it.
Because I don't want a Warhammer game in the Total War series, simple. The Total War series has always been based on periods of history and I want that to stay that way.
A Warhammer game in its own right, that is not part of a series, is better for everyone. It keeps the Total War series reality based, avoiding the risk of diluting the fanbase, and enables a Warhammer game to be its own thing without being tied down by expectations of having to play exactly like a Total War game.
You still have the option to not buy it. And it isn't better for everyone, considering myself in people in numerous threads on numerous forums have been asking for Total Warhammer. The two IPs are basically perfect for one another.
