Totalbiscuit's situation deteriorating

Not sure if this should be in gaming or off-topic, so please move it if it is incorrect.

Totalbiscuit's situation seems to have unfortunately deteriorated. Clearly it's hard to frame this in an optimistic way, but he's not out of options yet, thankfully.

For those not in the know, Totalbiscuit is a Youtuber who has covered PC gaming, gaming news and co-hosts a podcast called the Co-Optional Podcast and has done so for many years.
In late 2017 he did an interview with H3H3 about his situation (and other topics of course) which can be viewed here

I was listening to a podcast a while ago and he sounded already very different and weak. I feared there is something going on....

Even it looks bad I really hope he pulls through.

My dad passed away from rectum cancer last summer. its a horrible form of cancer that spreads very fast. Best way to combat it is to get REGULAR CHECKUPS even at 35 and up.

I wish him the best. I always heard his name on GAF and I watched a few of his videos. Never give up.

I have a belief that chemo has a high chance of not working. Understanding what cancer actually is, chemo just destroys your immune system, so the cancer has a very high chance of coming back.

Sad to see TB going through this. Hope something is able to help him.

No, he's not going to do this. Totalbuscuit is on the deathbed. This is the harsh truth that even I don't like. Truth sucks balls, play videogames.
That's really an awful thing to say as well as wrong. I've known people who have fought this disease and now are alive and well.

Dude. What the fuck. People here are just sending positive vibes and their thoughts. Regardless of how bleak the situation is, this form of post helps no one.

I lurk on Era and irregularly post here but I'm glad to see the positive vibes towards Total biscuit here. Over there a majority of the comments are simply "I dont agree with him but x, I don't like him but x" etc. etc. It's a fucked up world when people have to state their opinion of someone before they say good luck or I hope you're well.

I really want to see Totalbiscuit get through this. He's done so much for the gaming community as a whole. We need him but most importantly his family needs him.

Best wishes, TB. I've said some snarky and satirical things over the years, as I do, but that's all internet bullshit at the end of the day. <3 outbound to you and yours.

That's a terrible thing to say. It's important now more than ever for him to have faith and continue to fight. As someone in the medical field, I've seen instances of people overcoming dire situations against pretty bleak odds with pure dogged fighting spirit and faith. Best of luck to him!

As my mom died from cancer ( brain ) and battled with it for years before her end came, as main care taker it was extremely difficult to watch somebody that was rock solid mentally stable to get completely destroyed to a pulp mentally and physically in front of you while being completely powerless to do anything about it. It scarred me for a good decade after it.

The thing i will never regret is killing my school career by skipping the last year just to be with my mom ( later picked it up and finish it ) as it was the best time spend together and the memory's will always be graved into my brain. I would otherwise always have regretted it.

I hope if he got kids he spends 99% of his time with them and gets the most out of it while he can.

Good luck, i hope you pull through.

Same. When I was 20, my older brother died four months after his diagnosis. Watching him waste away while chemo wrecked him even further was the scariest thing to happen in my life; I get choked up now thinking about how scary it had to be for him.

Fuck cancer. All the best to those fighting it. Stay strong.

Yeah, it's awful to give up, but there are stages of cancer where it can be easy or hard to get rid of.

Everyone actually has cancer, and we all have it all the time. It's whether our immune system is strong enough to kill it in time.

I haven't consumed his content in years, but my condolences, wish him and his family my heartfelt condolences.

Nobody beats bowel cancer unless its caught very early and this is often by accident. Three of my family members perished within 5 years of being diagnosed. One of them had survived kidney failure, heart disease, strokes, skin cancers, etc. Another was 'cured', all tumors were zapped, but 3 years later deteriorated rapidly and died within 6 weeks from an explosion of cancerous growths in his major organs. Advanced tumors in the colon spell a decisive end. I go to get myself checked every 2 years. It runs in the family.

One of the worst cancers because it keeps your hopes up, likes to come and go, hide and bide its time, but there is no hope. If you're pooping blood for weeks at a time, you're already dead.

WTF!!!? What an awful thing to say!!! If you have nothing encouraging to say then maybe shouldn't say anything at all.
No need to argue what is nice and what is reality. We all know the reality of this situation and so does TB. Being dishonest helps no one...

Give all the encouragement you want, that's a great thing to do. But being honest is also a great thing to do, again no need to argue...

Yeah this happens all the time unfortunately people can't help themselves, give condolence then use the situation as a platform to give there opinion, it comes of as completely insincere.

I really hope he makes it through cancer sucks no matter who you are, stay safe and strong TB.

Modern medicine is all about business, not about helping people. People should see documentary "Burzynski: cancer is serious business", because it shows how many people have beat all kinds of cancers. Also Leonard Coldwell heleped MANY people beat cancers. I have seen IMPOSSIBLE things in my life and I know for fact modern medicine is PURE EVIL, research is being falsified and because of that people are being lied to, so most people belive it's impossible to beat cancer, it's impossible to fix their spine, their teeth, or fix their eyesight. People like that accept they have no hope, while in reality they can reverse even hopeless situation.

Modern medicine can be surprisingly incompetent. My father went into the hospital last summer because of the flu. He also had weakness that kept him from walking, which he thought was flu related.

Anyway, the upshot of it is that he spent 2 months going in and out of the hospital and a rehab center before they finally figured out, the day before he died, that he had colon cancer and it had metastasized throughout his body.

And worse, he had social workers and other people lecturing him about him not trying hard enough to get better (from the supposed flu) and able to walk again, when he had cancer and that was causing the weakness.

That's indeed incompetent, and sorry to hear about your father, but you have to realize modern medicine could not help him eitherway, and in fact chemotherapy would make his situation even worse because this is not how you can beat cancer (although you can prolonge life with chemotherapy a little at the cost of HUGE PAIN and the suffering of loved ones). People should realize something, human bodies develop one million cancer cells in their body every day, and with every day, your body kills one million cancer cells and this is how life in your body is sustained. The problem starts when human body doesnt work as it should (and there's a reason for it that modern medicine totally ignores) and start storing that cancer cells in one place (then tumor develops). The thing is, if human body made a cancer or other health problems in the first place it can also reverse it. People who sucesfully beat cancers learned that simple truth about human health, OUR BODY CAN HEAL BY ITSELF IF YOU ONLY FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED PROBLEMS IN THE FIRST PLACE (because you cant help people by treating symptoms like modern medicine likes to do). Of course it takes a lot of courage and dedication to fix your health problems on your own because first you need to learn about many doctors and menthods that arnt officialy mentioned (many of these methods are ridiculed by modern medicine) and conclude what information about your health problem is true and what informations is wrong. You can only fix your body when you will follow correct advices and informations that ineed work. With my own health problemds I had to test everything for myself and only then I was able to tell what doctor was telling me correct informations, and what informations were wrong.

The same with other health problems for example eyesight. I was told nothing can help me, but it all changed when I have seen interview in the TV with one guy who restored his eyesight. I have reasearched what he have done and he was talking about one ophthalmologist who lived 100 years ago, and who found a cure for eyesight problems and this 100 year old knowledge helped him. I have tested these knowledge for myself and he was ineed right :), I cant stress you how happy I was when i have seen PERFECTLY without glasses for the first time and before my eye doctors told me there's no hope for me (and that's why I had to buy new and expensive glasses with every year). After what I have seen for myself I KNOW FOR A FACT, there's always hope.
