Trackmania coming to Wii !!!

Did they copy and paste the tracks from the DS version or something? I recognize one of them from the DS demo. (The one starting at 1:20)

Meh, can't see any reason to buy this since I already have United Forever on the PC. Would it have killed them to add a single new environment?
Sounds like that's what 4 player splitscreen is for.

"wait what the fuck?

Since when did one of the recent Trackmanias have outdoor tracks and shit. I remember the very first one having a desert setting, but not the last couple ones (stadium only)."

Trackmania had Desert, Rally, and Snow. Trackmania Sunrise had Coast, Island, and Bay. All of which are fairly "outdoors." :-p. Sounds like this has Desert, Rally, Coast, Island and Stadium.

That video showed Stadium, Rally, and Coast (in that order).

Now Nadeo, this is all well and good, but show us something about Shootmania/Questmania!
What are those? Are those new games? You just gave me a boner at the possibilities.

Wow. That is one racing game that I might like (apart from Mario Kart).

I've already played Trackmania Nations on the PC and loved it. If this game has got all the features in Nations + ones I don't know of AND 4-player splitscreen, I'll definitely consider buying it. It's always cool to see developers showing they get it by adding local multiplayer on consoles and not focusing solely on online.

How much is the latest Trackmania game on PC?

Go buy:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/7200/

Contains everything from the Trackmania universe. 7 completely unique environments each with its own unique-handling car, and each with a crapload of user made content on top of it. Plus a bunch of different game modes.

Basically...10-20x the amount of content found in the free Nations game.

I was talking about Questmania and Shootermania. I will buy Trackmania Nation United eventually. I am still unlocking all the medals on Nations Forever. I only have a couple more to go that are extremely hard.

Oh right, missed that last line of his post. Can't wait to find out more about those :D

I really liked Trackmania DS. This is the same developers right? Firebrand I think, not Nadeo.

Anyway, can't see myself buying a Wii version. I'm more interested to hear news on Questmania etc too.

Probably... They were working on a Wii game after Trackmania DS, so Trackmania Wii was expected.

It already hit the DS, and not a soul bought the damn game. :(

Me included. >:(
I did ^_^ and enjoyed it a lot. Quite a strong game for the DS, even if I prefer playing racers like that with an analog stick.

Probably no online modes. :(
As said, they confirmed that the PC online modes are in, as well as track sharing and such.

Antagon said:
There are at least two ghost cars in the rally environment, so it seems that online is in. It´s a shame that the game has no new environments (and not even all environments from United it seems)
The only one missing is Bay, so the three of United are in.

Yeah, Firebrand would make sense, they've been ramping up with a Wii engine recently.

firebrand it is, there's no other logical answer but them.

btw, i still want to see an extended dsiware verson of TM ds - would double-dip no questions asked.

That's rough. Bay is awesome. I can think of at least one or two other environments I'd drop before that one.

In the video they said it's because of the Wii specs. And not being able to handle it. (from what I get in French)

"The only one missing is Bay, so the three of United are in."

There weren't three environments in United. It does not, in fact, have all the environments from United by virtue of United having all of the environments.

I must've really looked at Nations only (I'm such a cheap bastard) - I wasn't even aware that United Forever also had different enviros.

Good stuff.
Wait a sec.
You are a PC gamer and not aware of TMU? Shame on you! SHAME ON YOU! :lol

Well, yesterday I played the game some time, asked Focus people, get some pics, etc. I really liked it, and beign so early, I think it'll be awesome. They really want to put all they can in the game.

This is my (Spanish) report: http://www.revogamers.net/fullNews.php?newsId=4031

but I have translated some highlights:

- “deep discussions with Nintendo” for trying to skip friend codes. They want to seamlessly include circuit sharing because D/L is almost instant, and anyone should try other’s creations, so they don’t want any barriers. (We explained Boom Blox Bash system, but then again, it’s EA’s). They'll probably use SD storage as well.
- they want as many online players as possible. Starting with 8, but aiming at 16, more or less.
- 200 tracks included are made with in-game Wii editor, exactly like PC one.
- All Mario Kart control configs + NES-like, using D pad.
- gamescom build is from last Friday (14th). It’s smooth and fast, and already has loads of tracks. Q1 2010 is still the date and keeping 60 fps, the goal.
- snow, coast, rally, stadium, iron and island environments will be there.
- not on PS360 because not being realistic simulator could be underrated. Also because of Wii audience, controls and input for editor
- single / track editor / multiplayer menu and the shop. Race, platform and puzzle are back for single player, aside from “my tracks”.

and there are also some off screen photos in there:

Thanks for the update CaVaYeRo. This really will be one of my most anticipated titles of next year. Trackmania on a console is just a dream come true.

Marketed properly and as a solid package, I think this has the potential to be quite big.

you're welcome. I really liked one of the first on PC, and the fact that everything is there, plus the local multi is what I wanted to see. And it feels pretty similar, so I'm less concerned about the usual Wii treatment. Oh, I could get some videos, too.

Thx for your impressions. Sounds awesome.

Does the game have Splitscreen Action? That would be so cool.

I think the decision for Wii is right. Trackmania is a Casual game after all (except a good percentage of pro gamers but they don't want to play it on Wii anyways)

I'm looking forward to some nice Neogaf Online races.

Going to go ply some TMNF right now. Might buy TMNU if I get hooked enough, though it's such a shame the GAF server is gone.

They are right. The main audience for trackmania are Casual gamers. There are a good amount of pro gamers but they are the minority, by far! They would lose all the pro-gamer on PS360 because they want games like Forza3 and GT5. Casuals most likely own Wii so it makes perfect sense.

Awesome. Glad to see more people are going to get to enjoy the best arcade racer out there.

You know, I would have been disappointed in them doing Wii over PS3/360, but the fact that they're making this at 60fps instills confidence.

I'm hopeful for a PSN/XBLA version in the future. I'd probably double dip just to have easy HD access to the game on the HDTV.

A 15-30 dollar version on PSN/Live would sell gangbusters in my opinion. Not everything has to be a sim.

It is hard to pass up for $10 new. Robocalypse is another good game in that price range. Sucks but I got them both at this point and enjoyed them both a ton.
Argh, this is so not fair. Here in Europe nothing ever seems to drop in price at all. Trackmania DS costs 45 euro everywhere where I live. That's 65 dollars.

You can buy the game 6 times for the same price as I buy 1. >:(

Seriously, I don't even have to think. This is a certain buy.

More people should have "deep discussions" with Nintendo, it seems they are more than willing to help (allowed HVS in The Conduit to bypass friend codes, helped SEGA,EA, and Ubisoft with M+ controls, worked directly with Neversoft to integrate Miis and SD card into GHWT before anyone else, helped advertise MH3 as well as work the pay to play fee system into the Wii Shop).

Amazing what happens when you try isnt it

Damnit, I have enough Wii games on my wishlist!

*grudgingly writes it down*

Btw, how many local players does this support? (can't use online)

Edit : Oops, missed the 4-player splitscreen comment on previous page, forgive me. >.<

Why does this game looks more than 100 times better than all other racing attempts on wii?

Is it magic?
there are other, as-good looking racers on the wii. they just don't quite make it to 60fps : )

firebrand fail to disappoint again with their persistence for 60fps. *thumb up*

i think it would't come as a surprise to most if i said:

firebrand can do racers™

ps: needless to say, game is one of my most anticipated coming wii releases.
