Trackmania Sunrise demo is out..

Pretty tripped out game..

I'm playing it at 1152x864 with 4xAA/8xAniso on an XP @2.36GHz w/R9800 pro and getting smooth framerates. This is with all the advanced graphics features maxed (except for post processed colors/motion blur). It looks absolutely fantastic at these settings.. It's fun too. Online feels pretty much like the original though, so that might be a downer for some.

If you want to change the language to english, just put the 'en' folder (from the zip file posted above) into the 'translations' folder which will be where you installed the demo. Then when you start the game, choose configure (2nd option) and then choose english at the top.

Demo rocks! Tho I dont have a gamepad with an analogue stick on my pc. Anyone know any good pc gamepads or a good ps2 dual shock convertor?

For real, this game roooooocks. Incredible arcade fun. I love how the camera angle changes when you're in different situations like the loops and the friggin quarter pipe jumps, absolutely INSANE! I love it!

I should have known. :( This entire game is just Monkey Target with cars.

Interest is dulled since I was kinda hoping for a Hard Drivin/Rush/Fzero spree with wacky loops and jumps, but each of the demo modes exhibited the same gimmick of discovering the perfect trajectory and speed that will get you to the end in whatever time or restart constraints the developers force on you.

Not bad, but meh...

How do you get the patch to work? The demo was awesome, but I would like to play it in english
Place the folder within the zip file within this directory:

D:\TmSunriseDemoMag\GameData\Translations

Of course the drive letter and the game directory might be different for you.

You change the language by accessing the second button from the left on the initial menu. It's labelled "Configurer". Once in that menu you change the language by changing the drop down menu labelled "Langue."

I don't mind the shortness of the tracks, because 1. there's a fuckton of them and 2. they usually have one "do or die" moment where you MUST nail it and you don't want to have to repeat the last 2 minutes of racing.

Wow, amazing got gold in everything except slide or die (dunno WTF is wrong with me).

p4 3.0 512mb ram
ati radeon 9600 SE and all settings maxed out (4XAA), no framerate drop!

I wish the cars had more detail though.

I wonder what crazy mode is, bet it's awesome.

It's pretty cool, but the control's too twitchy with a controller...it's like I'm playing Sonic Adventure with cars here! :lol

The full game will be totally awesome, especially with the track designer.

Remember also you can download tracks and they work in the demo, i think they were created using this game or the last games assets after looking at the trackmania fan sites.

Play online and you see some people have some good maps downloaded, when you are racing if you press escape you can save the track to your memory.

Cheers,
bbyybb.

Edit: Here are the two big sites.

I played online, this shit is fun as fuck, needs to fix the lag, but that is cool, still demo

I made a vid of myself playing. I played this at 1400x1050.
ATI X800 256MB DDR3
2GB of DDR2 Ram @ 533
Pentium 3.6 with HT

AGENT SEABREEZE YOU ARE ELIZABETH AND I AM FRED SANFORD SAYIN....I'M COMING TO JOIN YA HONEY!!!!!!

I'm assuming you're playing on your Alienware Laptop correct? Well, I am this close to pulling the trigger on a $4500 Sager notebook with almost the same specs! Except mine will be P4 3.8Ghz, 2GB DDR3 ram and 200GB HD raid 0. Just like the one Dark10x has. JUST FOR THIS GAME!!!

But Ice lemme ask you something....didn't your Alienware 51m-7700 come with a GeForce Go 6800 instead of an Ati Mobility X800? Sager has just announced that they now offering the choice of the Geforce 6800 or the Ati Mobility X800.

WHICH ONE SHOULD I GO WITH???

This game with a wheel is AWESOME. Seriously, straight up godly.

Teknopathetic....dude....you just can't come in here and say something like that without following it up with more detail. Please tell us what wheel you're using and whether it's force feedback or not. If it's FF, please tell us how you're able to play with lack of FF and how you're dealing with the sloppiness of turning it with no resistance.

Yay, Sager notebooks are awesome. Go with them instead of the over-rated Alienware :)

Thanks SnowWolf :) Hey man do you own one? If so can you tell me what card I should go with between Ati Radeon Mobility X800 and GeForce Go 6800? Which card do you have?

Have you played the Sunrise demo yet? If so can you give me impressions of how this demo plays on your notebook?

dling this now...got my dual shock hooked up to my pc and we'll see how it goes.

it plays excellent with the dual shock.

Really like this demo, platform is the shit! and it looks so nice, except the car models those could use some extra detail.

It has heaps of tracks for a demo, as well as the added functionality of the user created maps working with the demo, it is just great.

Yes, because no one was hyped about this game in the other thread, you were the only one

Anyway, I doubt it will, but just in case, would my computer be able to play the demo;

Athlon 1.8 (so 1.53 or something) GeForce ti4200, 756mb RAM?

Just like with the original Trackmania Demo, I'm amazed at what people have made with such a demo-limited editor.

Fucking game is awesome. I'm not a big racer fan, but its stunning. The sense of speed, and the handling is surprisngly good, like Prince says the dual shock works great if you have an adaptor (although I couldn't get my analog to work). The game is stunning in action too, the sense of speed and just how damn good it looks...this is a must buy for me.

The car editor seems great too....I'm going to mess around with it.

Glad j00 like it BiffR. I just wanna confirm that game does infact work with this:

Look forward to playing yawll online! :D

This game is so insane...people have already made maps online and they KICK ASS.

The 2nd pic shows the end part of a crazy jump someone had made ona custom map. You drive directly at a ramp that launches you hundreds of feet in the air and you have to 180 in mid air so you come down the ramp like pictured, from there you go directly at another ramp and do the same...the sense of speed and excitement in this game is 2nd to none. Isamu, you would love this shit.
