Just saw this tonight, I really enjoyed it. The trailers made it seem like more of an action movie (like Holmes was going to be doing some Jet Li shit), but the actual film is more subdued.

Though I must admit Blackwood's master plan was laughably far-fetched. May have worked for a while in England, but the moment they tried to invade the US or another industrialized nation, they would've blown his magical ass out of the water.
One thing I didn't get was the
nigh-invisible string that Watson nearly tripped over near the beginning. Looking back, it's obvious that this was Holmes' first clue that Blackwood's feats were not as supernatural as they seemed (a fact reinforced when Watson really does trip over the wire at the docks setting off the explosions), but not knowing what kind of trap it was attached to bugs the crap out of me.
