Transfarring: NGP runs PS2/PS3 quality games

Huh, that's odd. The "Transfarring" logo is on the MGS 2 & 3 collection despite Peace Walker not being included. Wonder how that'll work.
I would say the PS3 version may import PS2 savefiles from the PS3 BC SKUs save files or from the PS2 -> PS3 savedata adapters.

In the Konami video where they introduced Transfarring and announced the PS3/X360 collections, they said that the Zone of the Enders collection would be Transfarring enabled, as well. Now, since they haven't said anything about a NGP version of this collection, that means you will get a NGP version for free.

I doubt they would do it differently for different games, so I would say everything points towards buyers of the MGS collection getting a free PSP/NGP version as well. Which is awsome!
It would be awesome (in PSP remasters too), but I don't see this happening, If they spend a lot of money in NGP porting or PS2 in NGP emulation, they would charge for this NGP SKU.

I think Transfarring logo in ZOE HD collection means you can import in the PS3 version the savedata from the PS2 version, copying it from the BC emulator save files or from a real PS2 savedata using an adapter.

Wait, why did you make that logical leap? Because they haven't announced a PSV version, it's going to be included with the PS3 one?

No one has announced PSV games yet, no one is allowed to.

No

Transfarring is console>handheld

Step 2

And the example is:

> METAL GEAR SOLID HD EDITION

PS2 games (MGS2 and 3 in this case) to both PS3 and NGP. Then the PS3 and NGP versions will be "transfarrable"

Until they announce MGS2 and 3 for NGP, this would mean you can import the MGS2 and MGS3 PS2 savedata to use it in the PS3 HD remakes.

And to share MGSPW in PS3, PSP, NGP versions.

As I understood, 'transfarring' is about sharing savedata between consoles and handhelds, and importing old PS2 savefiles.

Not about playing PS2 -> PS3 HD remakes in your NGP. And less having these hypothetic ports for free. Stop the hype train before it's too late.

Yeah, you are right. Didn't think about that. But if specific Vita versions of the collections are not announced during E3 (I guess at Sony's conference) I would think that my point still stands.

No. They haven't announced anything like that.

And again, transfarring means transfering saves between a console and a handheld.

I thought or I understood, this transfarring thing is meant for transferring save game data between devices so you can progress wheter console you're playing on, not the game itself.

however I wish I got it wrong, heh

So they're going to base the feature around a discontinued model of the PS3 and a discontinued peripheral.
Riiiiight.

The graphic there is referring to taking your game out with you on the go.
And it's for the Japanese release that includes only MGS2 and 3, not Peace Walker.
Also, the graphic clearly states 'PS2 --> PS3 and NGP'
Therefore, you'll be able to play MGS2 and 3 on Vita.

With the "PS2 -> PS3/NGP" in the Step 2 logo I understood it was about importing PS2 savedata, and then to share it between NGP and PS3 games.

PSP games to PS3. Then transferring saves between PSP and PS3 (Peace Walker)

PS2 games to PS3 and NGP. Then transferring saves between NGP and PS3 (MGSHD)

Making the same game for NGP and PS3 and transferring the saves. (FOX ENGINE)

Stop spelling transferring wrong!
It's got three Rs.

Or one of them at least, but likely both.

I do admire how they sneakily revealed the Vita games which they're forbidden to announce right now, even if they are ports.
