Maybe Bay took some of the criticism to heart and toned down the "comedy" and this one's a little darker in tone. Hope the dialogue's better, but it's probably the same writers?

Kurtzman, and Orci, who wrote the majority of the first two are out. A writer who was brought in to fix Revenge of the Fallen (Kurtzman and Orci wrote that script in two weeks) penned this film.

It's not that bad, just gotta go into with realistic expectations. It's a popcorn action movie with giant fucking transforming robots.

I went in with realistic expectations. I expected something as good as the first movie. I got something way worse. It was bad.

Cool, so there's a chance then. :)

If it wasn't for Revenge of the Fallen, that spot would have given me a heart attack. It looks so awesome, it's hard to imagine the hours of dick jokes and racial stereotypes that it's wrapped in. I'm trying really hard to keep my expectations at rock bottom, so maybe I'll get some joy out of this.

I know its a small pic, but I grabbed this from the teaser trailer... It seems to be our first look at Shockwave.

Gonna take more than that to hype me up. Especially after the huge let down and a terrible theater going experience.

Not purple, I'd actually say it looks more like a modified Blackout model or something.

Yeah, I doubt thats him. The action figure is like 80% purple. And the dude in that pic has a sphere like head

Looks like it could some sort of Shockwave minion though, maybe he has a horde of em that all have the monoeye or something

Mm... seeing this teaser is building the hype, but it feels just like RotF all over again. I hope I don't get let down this time.

Earth apocalypse and Optimus fucking shiiit up has got me excited.

Some of the action already looks incomprehensible and I can't see myself liking Huntington-Whiteley. Also, that sound effect sucked. But, it looked a bit better than TF2 just from that spot, and since these are so popular and I'll essentially be dragged to go see it, I hope that holds true for the final product.

I'm pretty sure that's the scene I got to watch the filming of from behind the scenes :P Of course it was so much more boring during the filming, just two cars driving close to each other over and over.

MY EYES, MY EYES, THE BOTOX
Seriously that's the freakiest looking makeup job I've ever seen in my life. (I am legitimately curious though how they're gonna retcon/get rid of Fox's character)

Otherwise, Michael Bay, giant robots, shit blowing up, I'll watch it once but then forget about it completely like I did the first 2 movies. Not a bad thing necessarily, at least worth the initial $13.00 IMAX ticket.

I know people keep saying, giant robots blowing shit up is all that's needed, but that's bullshit, especially if you hated the second one because the second movie was just mindless blowing shit up. What was missing from the first one was the autobots and decepticons actually being characters in the movie. And by characters, I don't mean jokes like the stupid twins. I mean real characters in the story and central to the movie. Less humans, and more individual characters among the autobots and decepticons is what I want. None of this, here are 20 random bots who you have no idea who the fuck they are.

Well they are writing Fox out, this girl plays a brand new character.

hmm steven spielberg is part of this, nice

i want now
But Steven Spielberg has been part of every single Transformer film to date.

I wonder if it will be possible to sync up this film and Dark Side of the Moon like you can do with The Wizard of Oz.

Does ANYBODY find the new lead girl attractive? Maybe she's a decent actress, but considering that she's supposed to be the eye candy of a several hundred million dollar action film (and let's be honest here, they weren't casting this for depth), I guess I was expecting somebody a little bit less... plastic looking.

Looking good action looks much clearer.

And lets be honest here even the 'haters' will be there day one how else are they going to trash the film otherwise.

I find her much more attractive than Megan Fox.

Yea but Gaf likes to pretend it is for some reason.
It is though. Unless you go frame by frame it's really hard to tell what robot is smashing what.

I don't get why they hired Rosie. She's surely not ugly at all. She's hot. But she does look artificial, and she doesn't have anything close to the It factor of Fox. They should have hired another Hollywood starlet, not an underwear model.

I wanted to quote this post because I think it perfectly sums up everything that's wrong with Bayformers. The robots themselves aren't characters. There's no drama between them at all aside from throwaway lines like "Again you fail me, Starscream."

Both films are primarily about a kid no one really likes, when they should have been stories about a war between two factions of robots. All of this came from some misguided idea that we need a human protagonist to bring us into a world like that of Transformers. The fact is that yes, it does make things easier for the audience, but in no way should the humans have been the primary focus of the film. There's no reason why the relationship between the blonde hacker chick and her fat black friend should get 2x as much development as the one between Megatron and Starscream, or Starscream and the other Decepticons. The human characters should have been used to bring us into the larger story which should have been mainly focused on the characters of the Autobots and Decepticons.

Instead, the movies aren't about the Transformers at all; they're about a bunch of unlikeable human characters who get shoe-horned into playing essential roles in a conflict because the writing team didn't have the confidence to try to go for realistic robot characters and drama between them. Absolutely pathetic. The scene between Starscream and whichever Autobot died in the opening episode of Transformers Prime had 10x the weight of any scene in any of the Bayformers films.

Same here i hope Bay has scenes where she's not got on loads of makeup as she is a very naturally beautiful woman.

Certainly a step up from Fox who's pock marked skin would have been too much to see again in IMAX.

Michael Bay, what have you done?

She's not good looking to begin with. I see prettier women on the street every day.

But you'll have to agree that she was turned into a monstrosity by the make-up-department.
