Trauma Center coming to Revolution

Dammit i dnt give a shit about the games as I already know that the backlog of games is more than enough for me. What i want is the price of the rev.

Trauma Center on the Rev? Now that is fucking awesome.

Now all I desire is Phoenix Wright on the Rev, and my life is complete. The game should require that I shout "Objection!" and point the Rev remote in the air.

lolol niiiice ;)

I'd happily pay double for a Phoenix Wright game where I have to point with the Revmote everytime I see an objection. Capcom should do it, how much can it cost to do?

Maybe that's why they're not porting 2 + 3 to the DS, they're gonna put them on Revolution /wishfulthinking

Hmm, I don't know if I can take Trauma Center on Rev. Part of the appeal to the DS version is it doesn't seem too realistic when you do the operations. If Rev is Gamecube turbo, it can still produce semi realistic character models and that might be too much for me to take.

Well I didn't care for Trauma Center... thought it was lame... but why would being on Rev do this? You can still create stylistic visuals on Revolution, ya know. Doesn't have to be realistic, or even semi-realistic :P

Obviously only 2D can be done stylistically. 3D = only super realism, duh.

Trauma Center wasn't amazing, but it makes a damn fine rental. I'm highly skeptical as to whether it'll work on the Rev though. The DS allows direct contact with the screen (ie. the stylus touches the screen), and that allows for a level of precision and speed that is simply not possible with a remote in midair.

We'll see, but I doubt it'll be anywhere near as good.

Glad I didn't buy the DS version now.

Uh... why? The Revolution version is likely to be an entirely different game than the DS version. Are you going to pass on New Super Mario Bros. because they're making Mario 128? Pass on Zelda DS because Twilight Princess is coming out?

What the hell does one have to do with the other? Different games, probably different control schemes, different puzzles, different characters, different tools available... I don't get it.

Silence! Leave the man alone. His logic is obviously air-tight.

It'll be interesting to see if they follow the same route as the DS version or make full use of the revmote.

They have a lot more to play around with this time if they choose to.

Pushing the control forward to increase the depth of a cut ,tilting the remote to control the angle of the blade, pulling back on the remote carefully at a precise angel to remove an embedded shard of glass, administering injections/taking blood by pushing/pulling back on the remote...

.....hopefully they won't go too far and include a depth controlled rectal thermometer :lol

It would be quite a nice idea to include control for two remotes, one to operate, the other to hold the wound open or manoeuvre a light/camera.

Fingers crossed they include a dentistry section.

Imagine if the force feedback stuff was true, you'd feel the friction of cutting someone open, different amounts for different tissues, then select a saw and cut through bone like a mad man!

I learned my lesson with Feel the Magic. The sequel comes out, it has more content in every way, plus I'm not made of money. The revolution version will be the one to get.

FtM and TRR are the same game, essentially. You honestly think TCR will be the same? Even if it's more indepth than TCUtK, that doesn't make it a replacement for TCUtK.

Nobody skipped Super Mario Bros. because Super Mario Bros. 2 was coming, did they?

I did.

This is old, but the playable at E3 is news to me. Good stuff.

I hope the playable is at TGS as well. I'm going to TGS, after all. Not E3. :(

Atlus said the same thing in an interview for the DS release (I kick myself because I cannot find the link... I do think it was on Gamasutra). Direct precise contact was the point made as to why a REV version wouldn't work, so I'm interested as to why the change of heart in now doing a REV version.

There is a lot more to surgery than just slicing people up, injecting anti-inflammatory, and closing the wounds. Trauma Center: Under the Knife was very narrow in that regard.

There are several possibilities to solve this.

a) The rumored force feedback feature of the revmote could let you feel if you are just about to touch the skin or already cut too deep...

b) It is 2D from Top down (like on DS) and you move a cursor (or a hand) around the screen and when you pull the Trigger, you start to cut (or whatever). It's the same as if you would touch the screen. You could even have to "steer" the direction of the scalpel to make clear cuts around a corner.
edit: Would be even nicer if the revmote had an analog trigger so you have to watch out not to cut too deep.

So, I see no problem in that, just be creative as a game designer :x
