juancho what race are you
So this is where this thread is going now?And blacks and latinos have been the picture of common sense?
The beauty of it is that they are stupid enough to post it on their own facebook.
Take a picture of yourself, post it right under your name, and share it with the world!
It may be insensitive, but what isn't these days? Not saying it makes it alright, but it's not like this is happening a day after the incident or that it's in the spotlight or anything.I don't understand this. One logical "next step further" is going from a self-portrait in a hood to imitating a dead teen? The fad is not only dumb on the same level as planking and owling are, but worse so because it's making light of a situation I'm sure none of these people have had to experience (a family member being killed).
I'm not even angry because I think it's racist (I don't), I just think it's horribly insensitive at worst and stupid internet meme-ing at best.
It was a joke.
juancho what race are you
Exactly. Why are "jokes" like that not given just as much levity than someone posting "black people"? This is a place where hypocrisy is alive and well.

Yep, they're all white alright.

There are black "white people".
I'm sorry that you can't tell how jokes are intended, due to your race's long history of being oppressed. Sorry that when people look at you, they stereotype you with other white hoodlums. Sorry that it's harder for you to get a job than other races, and sorry that you're hurt over a goddamn joke that shouldn't mean anything to you. Keep fighting for those rights - I find it terrible that Trayvon was shot. Truly a symbol for the problems of your race.
They way everyone's offended you'd think you guys have been shamed for being white before.

White people.
Oh come off your high horse I'm truly sorry I couldn't live up to his majesty's standard. I beg for your forgiveness, your grace.
Because if I were white, I wouldn't care? Because life would be different for me if I were white..idk man, being black is different from being white in this world.
Yep, they're all white alright.
Honestly, this is such a lazy response. Yes, "all" white people are stupid. Right? Imagine the shit storm if these guys were black and I said "Black People" .
Extremely useful for detection morons.
Wait. I am to infer that white people should never be offended because of White guilt?
Just curious, anyone here act openly racist to people(even to people you don't know) in a jokingly manner and have them react back the same way? I've been pretty successful in doing so, and I think it actually diminishes the strength of actual racist views. I've made some very good friends by back and forth joke racism.
hey idiot kids are taking insensitive pictures of each other in some sort of attempt at recognition or shock value or whatever.. there's really not anywhere to go from there. they're stupid/i'm shocked/shame on them, whatever.
To a friend of mine? Yes. To strangers? Jesus, no. I don't have good health insurance.Just curious, anyone here act openly racist to people(even to people you don't know) in a jokingly manner and have them react back the same way? I thought this would be people just wearing hoodies...
"""acting""" racist to people don't know sounds like a wonderful idea what could possibly go wrongJust curious, anyone here act openly racist to people(even to people you don't know) in a jokingly manner and have them react back the same way? And this never backfires?
Oh, don't even go there. It's not worth it. Like you said though, imagine the shit storm if it was reversed. You'd not only have 1000 + people quoting your posts, but you'd end up banned but for some reason that statement will be overlooked. Not all white people do it. And that's such a fucking broad generalization.

My friends and I do this all the time. They're from all over the world black, white, latino, korean, chinese, pakistani, indian, bengali, iranian, etc.
The best is when some of my friends who are from the same part of the world just start talking shit about each others countries and their religion/habbits.
I see nothing wrong with this.
It has nothing to do with white guilt, it has everything to do with the fact you aren't being judged on the street or anything. It shouldn't remotely offend you.
First of all, hoodies are awesome and some of my best friends are hoodies. That said, aren't hoodies more of a class thing than a race thing? I've never thought of hoodies as being a black thing.Come on, Sentry.
Its textbook "black person looking suspicious" stuff.
