Last year tri-Ace revealed it was working on an untitled RPG for the Xbox 360,
and today finally the first, scant, details emerge in the latest Famitsu issue. After its latest Valkyrie Profile for Square Enix, tri-Ace is getting its feet wet with a fantasy based RPG titled Infinite Undiscovery, which will use the developers typical real time combat system.

other OT tidbits:

Famitsu also had an interview with Sakaguchi, some highlights (stolen from Gaf):

- In the opening movie for Lost Odyssey you can seamlessly input commands for the battle scene.
- Combat is not action driven but command menu driven.
- The playable demo lasts for 40-60 minutes.
- The final game will have even higher quality than the demo.
- The modeling for the movies are almost identical to the realtime models.
- Inoue (the character designer) is personally checking all the models.
- The demo's battles will just the most basic part of the system. The more indepth systems will be excluded.
- The character growth systems and so on will be in the final game only.
- Surviving enemies inherit the powers of those who are killed.
- Since the main character cannot die either there will not be a possibility of game over.
- The final game will use a physics engine.
- The final text message on the playable demo was written by Shigematsu (scenario writer for the various short stories that make up the game).
- Lost Odyssey will be playable at TGS, with the demo disc being released with Famitsu in early November.
- Lost Odyssey will be out in 2007.
- Blue Dragon will DEFINITELY be released within 2006.
- ASH is being targeted for the first half of 2007.
- There will be more titles being announced from Mistwalker.

Nice. Hopefully ID gets a decent effort. I have some faith in Tri-Ace.

About LO. Very interesting stuff. Nothing major, but... no death? o.O

They're supposed to be giving out the LO demo at TGS, right? Hopefully we get some hands on stuff from J-GAFfers/Blim around then.

Honestly, I don't get hyped up for Tri-Ace games that aren't VP-related anymore...they just aren't that great outside that stellar series :(

The Lost Odissey stuff sounds orgasmic.

Interesting... is that a monkey I see fighting? Hopefully this game'll continue the tri-Ace tradition of having big parties. I'll need to see more shots before I can produce a better opinion, but tri-Ace is still my favorite RPG company.

Chances of buying a 360....slightly increasing. I'll wait until these games are released to decide to take the plung. After project ego I won't make an xbox purchase based on hype for a game.

Wait... so i know about the LO stuff, but it is there another Tri-ace threas? because i really wanna talk about tri-ace :)

bummed it's fantasy and not sci-fi... even without seeing a screenshot this is still my most anticipated next gen title at this point followed closely by Lost Planet

I look at those weapons and I feel less bad.

I just want to add that Infinite Undiscovery is just about the lamest attempt at sounding pretentious that I have ever heard.

CHANGE THE ****ING TITLE FOR WESTERN AUDIENCES FTW

Infinite Undiscovery?

Infinite? japanese people won't buy it because it doesn't fit in their small houses
