Triforce Johnson: The world's most patient gamer [Polygon article]

After the video finished, youtube autoplayed Arthur's Wii U video review. Holy shit the difference in quality is astonishing.

The only thing that is truly good about Polygon is their Features team/department. They do amazing work. Screw the reviews team and the 'news' team, Polygon should put more resources and emphasis to the Features team, 'cause it's apparent it's the only amazing thing about the website, and what really sets it off from the others.

"develop natural skills of line standing"

If that doesn't show this guys dedication, I don't know what does. Does anyone know what he does for a living?

You could read the article but dunno... (He manages a Pro gaming group called 'Empire Arcadia' or EMP for shorts)

They made a documentary about themselves. What do you think?
Word.

Wait... what?

I think the very definition of impatience is waiting in line a month for a system because you want to be first.

Well let's be real. On the list of reasons why he's doing this actually playing a Wii-U probably ranks pretty low

Did he get the WiiU before anyone else officially?

been wondering the same thing myself... and turns out, yep. He did. Not in reality, but officially.

He may be a dweeb, but whatever - just let the man live.
He's clearly not an idiot - he's gone to college, worked to pay his bills and put a roof over his head, been married and lived life like an average dude. No reason to hate because of his hobby.

Every person on this forum isn't that far removed from him and his passion for games, anyway. I might not be part of some fighting game training house, but I've played in events they've been at. You might not be in lines for stuff, and you might not have changed your name to some game thing, but you probably have more than a few pieces of game-related memorabilia or something.

Anyone on this forum is probably a little bit more of a gamer than the average Madden or COD bro.

So... what's the real name of this guy? Or are you telling me he changed his name to Triforce??

"Triforce stores the gloves in a cardboard box in his bedroom, but hopes to one day display them in a glass case.

"Can you imagine it?" he asks."

blown away by this article... there are no words...

I will not judge, everyone has different tastes/desires in life...

Not familure with the guy other then knowing a lot of people hate him but how does Triforce make a living?

What is his deal other then being the crazy nintendo guy.

Maybe. But I still think the "worlds most patient gamer" title goes to this man:

Years ago I saw have seen preorders for VS XIII. I know we aren't going to wait more than a decade for it, but it's getting closer.

I enjoyed the video- it was really interesting to see him explain his routine, and to do it so candidly. Yeah, his personality may be abrasive/awkward with the FGC, but the video portrays a different side. His whole "passing this on to the younger generation" was interesting too- he's hanging up his launch status? Whoa!

What's up with these threads? We just shit on another human being now for indulging in their personal interests?

Is it ok for him to do it to others though and stir up shit in the fgc just so he can have another short time in the spotlight over and over and over again. It's cool he's done this and that takes dedication, but a ton of the flak comes from people that knows his more portrayed personality.

The people making low blows about divorce and stuff would be kinda bad buuuuuut you know that other stuff :P

In defense of the guy though, here's this :P

Yeah I guess but that's giving him attention he hasn't earned in entertaining this. Like how is this anyone's problem but his?

Now he gets to waggle by himself....

Now I know what the power glove is for.

On topic, we all do stupid shit...just most of us don't get articles written about us to point and laugh at. If Polygon had done an article on how I shuffled $1.34 from one account to another through paypal to another separate account just to have $2.00 to rent ACIII from redbox for one night while I waited on my shipment a couple weeks ago I'd look like an irresponsible gaming loon too.
