Army of Two
I'm fairly certain the 3 GBA games have nothing to do with one another. Hell, Circle of the Moon was stripped from CV canon all together. Dawn of Sorrow is a direct Sequel to Aria of Sorrow, it isn't a "successor". The stories are fully linked.
Maybe I'm not remembering correctly. A few outlets had billed it as a trilogy when they were released on the Wii U virtual console:

Oh my God, it's amazing that game managed to get two whole sequels.
EA really wanted to develop their own equivalent to Gears of War.

There were 3 mainline Final Fantasys per console generation until the last one:
NES: 1-3
SNES: 4-6
PS1: 7-9
PS2: 10-12
PS3: 13, 14
: 15nevah
Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II

Can add Advent Rising to that list then.
I wouldn't consider XI and XIV to be mainline final fantasy, despite their names.
Isn't Forgotten Sands considered part of the "trilogy" (between 1 and 2)? If so, this shouldn't count.Prince of Persia: TSoT trilogy

I think F.E.A.R. can be another example. The third one is not worthy of the title, but because of its name it still fits this thread.
The first game was alright. Sold pretty well too. Then it went downhill hard.Oh my God, it's amazing that game managed to get two whole sequels.

Fabio box art always makes me laugh.Wizards & Warriors on the NES

Kingdom Hearts Xehanort Saga First Half (PS2 counting Re: Chain Of Memories)
That is just because there are 3 CV games on the GBA. I took the thread meaning to be story/plot/series trilogies which are started and finished on a single console. Not just happened to have 3 games released in a series on a console.
They also aren't numbered, so they couldn't countThe non ND ones don't count.
