Trilogies that started and ended on one console

I'm fairly certain the 3 GBA games have nothing to do with one another. Hell, Circle of the Moon was stripped from CV canon all together. Dawn of Sorrow is a direct Sequel to Aria of Sorrow, it isn't a "successor". The stories are fully linked.

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly. A few outlets had billed it as a trilogy when they were released on the Wii U virtual console:

The original Phoenix Wright trilogy came out for GBA and was Japan-only. The three were later remade for DS, and after all that, the next game in the series (Apollo Justice) came out for the DS.

Xenosaga, the original .hack games (ok, quadrilogy in the case of those), Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Sonic the Hedgehog, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, (perhaps a stretch but the) Souls games, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2, Record of Agarest War, Final Fantasy kind of had a trilogy of games on various platforms (I to III on the NES, IV to VI on the SNES, VII to IX on the PS1, X to XII on the PS2), Panzer Dragoon kinda...

Those are the ones that came to the top of my head.

That is just because there are 3 CV games on the GBA. I took the thread meaning to be story/plot/series trilogies which are started and finished on a single console. Not just happened to have 3 games released in a series on a console.

The Atelier series done this three times already.

The Iris series (Iris 1, Iris 2, Iris 3) all on PS2.
The Arland series (Rorona, Totori, Meruru) all on PS3.
The Dusk series (Ayesha, Escha & Logy, Shallie) all on PS3 again.

Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II

Also the Prince of Persia reboot series (Sands of Time, Warrior Within, The Two Thrones)

There were 3 mainline Final Fantasys per console generation until the last one:

NES: 1-3
SNES: 4-6
PS1: 7-9
PS2: 10-12
PS3: 13, 14
nevah
: 15

Wizards & Warriors on the NES

Does Final Fight 1-3 count on SNES? Technically, the first one started out in the arcade and was ported to home consoles but the SNES was the only one to get the entire trilogy.

The original numbered Ratchet and Clank gamescount?

The R&C Future series is it's own trilogy as well as far as I know.

Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II

Not sure that's a trilogy, DeS is different in world and story is it not?

Also does
Modern Warfare count?
1-3 were all on a single generation?

Tony Hawk pro skater 1-3? all on N64? Don't know if 3 made it to ps1?
Also T.H.U.G 1-2, proving ground?

Does Infamous Count if you include Festival of Blood?

Also technically
Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, and Twilight Princess on the GC were a trilogy.

Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 Genesis.

Prince of Persia: TSoT trilogy
Isn't Forgotten Sands considered part of the "trilogy" (between 1 and 2)? If so, this shouldn't count.

I think F.E.A.R. can be another example. The third one is not worthy of the title, but because of its name it still fits this thread.

Crash Bandicoot (PS1)
Spyro (PS1)
Sly Cooper (PS2)
Ratchet & Clank Classic (PS2)
Ratchet & Clank Future (PS3)
Jak And Daxter (PS2)
Donkey Kong Country (SNES & GBA)
Super Mario Bros. (NES)
LittleBigPlanet (PS3)
Kingdom Hearts Xehanort Saga First Half (PS2 counting Re: Chain Of Memories)

See the rules aren't specific enough so idk if he means on console as in like on ps3 not on x360 but then he says Mass Effect... so idk how technical we are getting.
If thats the case then Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, and Twilight Princess should count as it was defined as a trilogy.

Little big planet 3 is on ps4?

That's what I took it to mean as well, but I'd say about half of the suggestions here don't really do that.

If we consider that Resident Evil went into different directions after 3 (which it kinda did with 0, Code Veronica, 4/5/6 and Revelations), then maybe Resident Evil 1-2-3 could fit for PS1?

Crysis technically was a trilogy for last gen consoles though I played them on PC. I loved the first one to death, played it for countless hours in the singleplayer, multiplayer, editor, custom maps, etc. I was super excited for the second one and while it of course was a somewhat inferior game I like it a lot for what it was. The third one I had excitement for but not any super high expectations though surprisingly it's almost the best of the three. Hell, it's one of my favorite shooters from last console cycle.

Technically Donkey Kong Land is a direct sequel to DKC so it's not really a trilogy. The other two GB games are more pseudo ports though.
