Please tell me there was more to this episode than sex. Did any plot developments happen? ANYTHING to make this season move forward?

So godwrick looks like an ancient Mayan. Or could he be ancient Egyptian?

I'm guessing Egyptian. He had what looked like hieroglyphs tattooed around one arm.

Does anyone else wish Tara would die?

I dunno the bodypaint around his neck looks south american or maybe pacific islander. Anyway I hope someone dies we havnt had any significant deaths yet this season. It's starting to really piss me off...

This episode had some seriously cringeworthy moments. Still alright, but just some bill/sookie moments need to be fixed up quite a bit.

The scene with Godwrick was awesome. It was definitely predictable, but it was also perfectly executed, so it's a net win. Eric being a ridiculously skilled Norse warrior was hilarious and kick-ass at the same time. I was also wondering when they'd bring in gay vampires and kid vampires; two birds with one stone!

Fake edit: I forgot that the guy from Office Space was gay, but he doesn't really count because he was a total n00b.

Yeah something seems off there...been saying this for awhile now.

Yeah I actually thought that scene was very well done. They played it nicely and I would like to see more of that side of the show. I also liked that sepia effect they did for it. And which gay vamp and kid vamp were you referring too? Godwrick....?

Bill and Sookie pillowtalk is always pretty snooze-worthy, but the rest of the episode was decent. Eric's origin with Godric was rad.

Yea, Godwrick was totally fawning over Eric. He only noticed Eric because he was amazing on the battlefield, which means he's admiring his physicality. Then he offered Eric the chance to "walk with him" and be his father, brother, and son. Godwrick was totally infatuated with Eric. And all vampire relationships are inherently sexual, what with the fluid exchange and all the sucking and necking. There's also Eric's reaction toward Godwrick in the present scenes. Eric cares a lot more about Godwrick than Bill does about his maker. Plus, the line where Eric brags to his fellow soldiers about getting women almost feels like an ironic set-up for the Godwrick/Eric romance.

The only redeeming moment of tonight's show was Eric's backstory scene. Tonight was so goddamn drab. Just DRAB.

Hokey dialogue all over the place-- especially Sookie's. Who wrote tonight's episode? My god was it bad.

OMG, Godrich all over my face - I did look him up and . . . HE'S LEGAL!!!!!!! Haha, actually, he looked far better in the scene in the show then the one headshot I found, and he's 10 years my junior, but oh well.

Eric and the whole vampire mythos of this show is really far more interesting than most of the hokey Sookie & Bill stuff this epsiode, and I'm glad to see they're bringing back Bill's maker (when they showed those scenes in the "previously on" it was obvious she was going to show up). I have no idea whether it's really part of the book's mythos or not, but the historical backstories of all the vampires are really intriguing.

And yeah . . . the whole Marryanne in the kitchen in the apron was just a bit ridiculous, I mean, come on.

Weenerz said:
It was Sookie's grandmothers apron she was wearing. She was trying to take her place to Tara.

Ummmmmm . . . yeah, you think so? I honestly can't tell whether you're insulting me or honestly think that scene was an example of subtlety in writing. I wasn't confused by the damn thing, the only way they could have made it more obvious was to ship Alan Ball over to my house and have him hit me over the head with a bat while holding a sign that said "Marryanne is trying to be Gran!!! Get it, Tara wants a mommy!!! Oh poor, poor Tara!!"

It was so damn annoyingly obvious and in your face that that's what I'm complaining about. It's the first overtly ridiculous thing in this show that I've complained about, but it was sooooo over the top that I literally got out of my seat and threw my hands in the air in frustration. I'm not even a Tara hater and her storyline actually annoyed me more than Jason's this episode.

Tara better turn out to have some type of special powers or something. because they are putting wayy too much interest and focus on her lame ass story.

Shes like the best character in the show!

I can think of much better ways that screen time can be used instead of hearing her bitch and moan in every episode. Seriously every episode she has done nothing but complain. She was better last season this season she has served her purpose. Please kill her off. Isn't it time for a significant story related death by now?

Just me then. I get really tired of the non-stop whining.

No I'm with you. This episode was slow b/c it was Tara-centric.

Damn that bathtub scene was super hot. I've never thought that preacher's wife was all that good looking, but damn that was a dirty/sexy scene.

I don't like the appearance of Bill's maker. There's already a long list of actresses on this show that haven't done nudity yet. Let's wrap some of that up before we start adding more, okay?

edit: If they keep doing origin stories then we better get a clan MacLeod cameo.

God, some of the dialog was fucking great.

"Nice rack"
"Nice balls"
:lol

I assume that vampire at the end was Bill's maker. Interesting to see how that goes and holy fuck at the preachers wife.

Surely his name must be spelled Godric, right? (Godwrick/Godrick/Gawdrikhe)

Anyhow, I think that if it weren't for the fact that the first season was really enjoyable, I'd be so over this right now. I've found Season 2 is moving waaay slow, waaay too obvious and a little too uninteresting so far.

Fortunately there are a few bright spots (Jessica being right near the top)

First weak episode of this season imo, I was mostly bored watching it. When Sookie yelled "If y'all argue any more I'm gonna fall asleep or start screaming" that was exactly how I felt.

:lol Agreed. In a way, it ruined the scene for me.
I do not understand the unnecessary photoshopping on it, just looks horrible and creepy.

-Jessica is fiery hot as always

-Eric's backstory is fucking badass (Put one vote in from me as Godrick being Mayan)

-Sarah and Jason... JUST a handjob, really?

-Michelle Forbes looks much more gracefully aged (milf) without the makeup

-Now that they're a pair off set, does this automatically mean we need a "Don't worry so much, oh and I want you inside me" moment between Bill and Sookie EVERY damn episode?

No but I fucking hate Maryann :(.

And yes the Bill and Sookie stuff is a little too much. I mean we don't have to see it every episode and we don't need to hear the 'vampire love' theme song every time they kiss either.

Jessica is hot as ever, god I want her :p. She is so my type ( well except the vampire ), but I love redheads so yeah :p. The episode was really slow though.

and FUCK I hate Maryann. And who's Bill's maker?

Some dumb bitch who used to live in some shitty cabin feasting on deserting civil war soldiers passing by. I hope after Sookie infiltrates the Fellowship of the Sun, she manages to get one of those guns and full-auto riddles her with wood bullets.

Oh that's right I totally forgot about that. Is she the same woman from the latest episode in the red dress at the end? Wow.

Allright cool, let's see where they go with that.

I am curious about reading the books, are they any good?

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't go at it until the finale. All this build up is terrible, I want Sarah tits now ='(

And yea, that's bill's maker at the end.

ANOTHER filler episode! That's two weak episodes in a row now. That sucks considering the season started so good. Here's hoping next week is the one that'll get things heading in the right direction again.

I'm so glad you're not writing this show, because you would make it worse. :D

To be fair, even Season 1 had lot of filler, especially when you consider that the driving force of both seasons ostensibly has been a murderer on the loose. It never really seemed like anyone cared about the murderer the first time around, which is why they had to kill someone every few episodes to remind the audience. This season seems to only have the 1 murder of someone no one cares about, so obviously they're going to meander about.

Still, fuck the haters, this is still one of the most entertaining and sexy shows ever. Tonight's episode, even with so little nudity, was probably one of the sexiest hours of TV ever.

Hmmm ok so I've just watched the 6th episode of season 1 so far and this show is actually not that bad.

I shouldn't of given up on it ages ago

I'm getting kind of sick of the whole Tara/Maryann/Sam storyline. I wish they would take a break from that for an episode and focus on the Austin crew. Eric's origin was supremely awesome.

Needs more Jessica, too.

:lol You telling me Tara getting mauled by a shapeshifting bear wouldnt make for great TV? That would owned and shoot ratings wayy the hell up. DO IT!

I'm so happy to see Lafayette's returned to the general population. He's the only one who could be bitchy back to Tara and I love him for it. Wondering how long it takes for him to open up to people again after his kidnapping. He's dressed up all black and sad, it's messed up YO!

Also, I forgot that the cook is an Iraq vet. Wonder if that turns into anything. And that shape shifter girl sure is pushing herself onto Sam. It's dangerous!

I hope Lafayette isn't all subdued from now on. I want him screaming at rednecks and throwing AIDs burgers in their faces again.

I think since Erik can monitor him now he's gonna be more subdued, at least until he can figure a way around it.
