My wife tries to get me to watch this show does anyone have a recap or a summary of the characters shes NOT very good at explaining things and when I ask she tells me to be quiet :\

These last few episodes have been great. The plots are moving forward, they're not spending as much time with useless side characters (and at the very least pairing Andy and Jason)

Also they're definitely turning up the camp with Hoyts outfit, the little girl turning into a wolf, Alcide turning into a puppy at the end and the whole Sookie, Alcide, Bill and Eric sequence

And damn, Tara is looking good

No one talking about Sam and Luna being gunned down by wooden masked gunmen? There wasn't much to Luna's character this season but she was still pleasant to look at.

I don't think Sam will die. They wouldn't kill off a major character so suddenly and without making a big deal of it... though I wouldn't mind. Never cared for the Sam/shifter plotlines.

Am I the only one who thought "must be thursday!" was really lame? I actually facepalmed when she said it. Bill and Eric walking in at the beginning was gold though, as was seeing Alcide strip -w-

i like how Tara was able to stand a good chance vs Jessica (it seems) cuz she been drinking the real stuff. nice detail.

Hated the ending but great eps.

Oh man someone needs to make a gif of Sookie saying "Must be Thursday!"
Off of Tumblr:

See I thought it was a flashback to her in the hospital when she was thought to be insane.

Maybe. I'm not sure why they would just randomly interject a flashback right at that moment though. Maybe the reason Lafayette's mom went crazy was because she had powers too?

Am I the only one who thought "must be thursday!" was really lame? I actually facepalmed when she said it.

Embrace the cheese. It's delicious.

I also disliked how Eric was so dismissive about Sookie saying she was worried about the two of them because she was hooking up with Alcide. Umm, he'd just slept with both Nora and Salome, and if he were really so concerned about her the easiest thing for him to do is to give her her house back so that Russell could actually not come into the building.

Not me. I like Sam and always wished he'd get more time like some of the bigger cast. His stories have a habit of petering out and usually end with him in a dark place.

So was Jessica. There is what, perhaps a year difference between them? I dont think that matters too much. Or, more likely, the writers just wanted a cool scene between them en dont care if it makes sense within the established rules of the world (if you can even say this show has that :lol ).

I thought I was because even though Jessica is older, Tara is an at least semi-experienced fighter; didn't she do cage matches at the beginning of season 4?

This show's so much better this season. Funny thing is someone always says "nothing happened" for every episode but the plot keeps advancing.

The side stories had a lot happen, but the main storyline (Sookie/Bill/Eric) moved at an absurdly slow pace. At the beginning of the episode, they went to the abandoned hospital to find Russel, and they spent an entire episode walking through the halls getting spooked by shadows and rats before they actually found him. I thought that was a particularly egregious way to run out the clock in order to provide a lame cliffhanger ending.

She man handled Steve Newlan because she was older. But I agree, writers wanted a fight.

You must have some kind of weird selective memory because they only got to the hospital in the last 15 minutes. The early parts of the episode were Sookie sobering up, grabbing Doug and reading his mind to track Russell down.

She really is a terrible actress, and her reciting that line was like a ten year old who thought of the funniest joke they have ever made up and they can not wait to tell someone and finally find a way to use it hours later.

The shifter plotlines are pretty bad imo, the whole Ifrit thing was cool but overall kind of a pointless distraction imo, the whole stackhouse thing...good lord him hating vampires is played out. Basically this show feels the need to have so many stories for every single character but they aren't handled so well.

I'm still entertained but the stories I'm interested in most seem to be moving he slowest (the vampire story/tara/whatever).

That's my point. Sookie/Bill/Eric spent an entire episode picking a dude up, driving to a hospital, and walking down a hallway. That's some Brian Michael Bendis caliber decompression.

I liked Sookie in this episode (even with her interrupting shirtless Alcide with her vomit).

Laughed when goth Hoyt showed up. I hope the girls don't fight over him any longer.

I can't really say I'm that interested in whatever is going on with Terry and Lafayette (the scene with his mom was funny though).

Goth? I'd say his last outfit looked very 80s new wave/pop. It seems like poor Hoyt is... well poor and can't afford decent fang banger clothes.

Hoyt looks like a twat but then I find his character useless and irritating.

Anyway, fantastic episode. Hilarious and crazy. Russell IS BACK BITCHES. Sookie is also way more appealing in this season due to her not hogging up too much screen time anymore.

Andy was on the ball in this episode too. :lol "I don't care if they're leprechauns or fucking ewoks" ahahahaha

The appearance of Ifrit reminded me of Darkseid from Smallville.

The Adventures of Bill & Eric: Vampire Hunters. They are the best teamed up.

Another good episode. This season has been on point.

Hoyt sucks and I really don't care for them causing Jason to hate vampires. :/

Poor Luna. :(

hoyt has become my most hated character on the show (formerly tara) but now she could become interesting

but hoyt, he's looking pretty pathetic, somebody needs to kill him

also wow at those guys hunting shifters, ok you just 2 shot people but the little girl, seriously?!

So my girl and one of my roommates / closest bros watches this show... so I got caught up.

Season 1 and 2 were OK and bad, respectively. But I was still intrigued and the pay off was worth it - 3 and 4 were much better, and after this latest episode True Blood is officially good IMO.

-Tara is the worst. Super annoying, wish she died like 2 seasons ago.
-Hoyt is eye rollingly bad in this last episode.
-The Ifrit payoff after years of Terry bugging out was awesome!
-Bill & Eric (feat. Sookie and Alcide) is a rad group of vampire hunters.
-Laffayette is the best. Hopefully he gets this brujo shit under control and becomes a super hero or something.

So much shit going on this season, it feels cluttered. As soon as you grasp the severity of one problem, they throw in another, which at times feels forced.

I could do without the Ifrit sidestory (once they mentioned the war in the Gulf, I knew it was heading to ifrit territory).

Now the girls are fighting over Hoyt (who Tara always seemed neutral about in past seasons), Jason just now realizing vamps killed his faery parents (didn't he know his parents were faeries and would be targeted by vamps two seasons ago?), Lafayette being luchadore masked witch daddy and severed head (ugh), and now shootings
(but I think that part was in the book so I guess it's ok)
.

Every character on the show seems to have an outrageous story arc going on, I wouldn't be surprised if the old sheriff strolled back in town and they gave him one (what he's been up to all this time), just for shits and giggles.

That's my point. Sookie/Bill/Eric spent an entire episode picking a dude up, driving to a hospital, and walking down a hallway. That's some Brian Michael Bendis caliber decompression.

You do realize you can do that to every plotline in 9/10 episodes of an ensemble show.

They searched for and found Russell in a single episode. This isn't like season 2's multi-episode orgies.

Glad to see Bellefleur's war plot had a point. The Ifrit spirit makes things more interesting.

Tara's plot is getting along.

Looking forward to seeing how things will go with Russell's return.

You're all bonkers. Hoyt is awesome. All the characters on the show are great. I bet they're going to connect Lafayette's story with Terry's again.

I dunno if I like how Hoyt's been behaving. I mean, I totally understand that he's having a hard time dealing with his failed relationship with Jessica, but all this clubbing and acting out seem a little excessive given how sweet he's always been. Still love him though.

I'm actually surprised they found Russell already. I was expecting that to drag on for a while.

Caught up. One of the best episodes in a long ass time. This season is shaping up incredibly well... maybe a bit too much. It almost feels like they already pushed the pedal to the floor, although it's clear that Russell will get to live for at least two more episodes (lets see how they deal with the iStakes in the meanwhile...)

Everything is great so far, but I'm mostly happy for bringing Tara back to greatness. Thank you, based writers. And another big FUCKING thank you to the people in charge of the wardrobe; Rutina was smoking.

Edit: That Jesus bit was pure, distilled WTF. I'm still scratching my head.

I liked Sookie in this episode (even with her interrupting shirtless Alcide with her vomit).

The writers were totally trolling the Alcide/Sookie shippers.

Alcide - "I've been waiting for this moment for so long!"

Sookie - "Aww Alcide!" ....*hurls*

lol

(once they mentioned the war in the Gulf, I knew it was heading to ifrit territory).

So you've known about the Ifrit since season 1? That's impressive. ;p

not sure how you got that from the show. Jessica drinks the real stuff now too (and has since a long time now). She was literally feeding when she started the fight with Tara

Lol, there's an app for everything!

Great episode! Pam and Tara as a possible sexing couple would be the least obvious choice but interesting. I lol'd at drunk Sookie antics. Great to see a Tara and Jessica interaction... only being squashed over Hoyt. Surprised they would actually use something like Ifrit.

And unless it's a surprise twist that it's been Pam all along, does the show think that we don't know it's been Salome all along that's been the Authority traitor? Please reveal it already, it's been obvious since episode 3. Could still be twisty if she's really Lilith though.

Also, poor Luna. :( I hope she lives but doubt it simply because this means it'll just leave Sam with an adopted daughter storyline fighting against the werewolf pack family. Meh.

I really hated Tara, but I really like her this season. What her spunky character needed was the chance to be spunky, and not trodden on by everyone and everything. So glad the writers finally figured that out..

She really is a terrible actress, and her reciting that line was like a ten year old who thought of the funniest joke they have ever made up and they can not wait to tell someone and finally find a way to use it hours later.

haha! That was exactly how it sounded!

Yeah, I like Luna. She's really nice to look at. ;) I wonder if this whole thing with that group of dudes gunning down supernaturals will lead to Sam teaming up with the werewolves to take them on? I wonder if Emma ran to her grandmother and the rest of the wolves?

I also found myself staring at Pam and Salome's necklaces now for that symbol. Nora has that same necklace too doesn't she?

Wasn't that emblem the symbol for The Authority? I seem to remember that not only did Salome have it, but a couple of the male Authority members had that emblem as lapel pins.

If so, then Pam wouldn't have it.

Yup, those are some serious fucking spoilers.

Hoyt's pathetic now. Kill this dweeb.

Season has been really enjoyable though, just pure dumb fun.

He's been pathetic since Jessica fucked Jason. He's just getting more and more pathetic with every development.

Exciting.
I've been expecting the plot of the show to go in this direction and it has a lot of potential for the future if they don't want to resolve it all this season.
As a vampire show, it's best when it's focusing on vampires as the main players. The plots of the last couple seasons suffered because the vampires were only part of the story, while vaguely hinting at something much bigger brewing in vampire land.
