lol this show is just hilarious right now. Lilith showing up was pretty weird but I guess it was just a hallucination indeed.

Very dark episode. Not sure how they will advance the vampire storyline now with the supporters of the mainstreaming movement all but destroyed. And seeing Russell's immediate change of attitude was confusing/surprising to me as well, I hope they go into that more later on.

Is there razzie awards for TV? This show deserves multiple.

Thanks for the contribution to the thread, you've really encouraged more discussion.

Just really all around bad acting and cheesy effects. None of the actors have really sold their characters save for Russel.

I couldn't believe that this was a real scene from a real TV show. Cringe.

I'm guessing the blood isn't Lilith's blood but instead it's actually pure fairy blood. That's if the Lilith thing was just a hallucination. It would tie into the fairy vs. vampire storyline they're clearly moving toward.

While you are obviously welcome to your opinion, I disagree. Have you been watching this show from the beginning? This season has seen the payoff of a lot of character development that happened over the course of the series. Scenes like the one between Tara and her mother in this week's episode have much more impact when you've watched the backstory develop. And I thought the actress playing Tara did a great job of making her emotions seem real.

EDIT:
Regarding your additional edit - if what's happening in that screenshot turns you off that much from this show, than it clearly isn't for you. Of all the ridiculous things that this show has introduced, Godric visiting Eric from beyond the grave is relatively tame.

Yes, I've watched since S1. Tara and her mother gave me nothing because that arc with her mother has always been terrible. Tara this episode was fine sure, but she did practically nothing other than be a bitch to her mom (the norm) and then be sad and hug Pam. Nothing to write home about.

Interesting theory - but haven't we already seen the effects of pure fairy blood on vampires? Eric drained Claudine last season and did not get the same bloodlust we saw in this episode. I agree that it makes sense to tie in the vampire-fairy stories at some point.

What would you rather Tara have done in that situation? Did you find her actions unbelievable? Or would you rather that scene just not have existed?

Russell is probably just happy to continue going on being Russell. I don't think he really gives a damn.

Nothing? I didn't have a problem with Tara this episode. The problems were with Sookie and her fairy arc, the two Iraq veterans running from a freaking fire ghost, and whatever the fuck Lafayette is doing. It reminds me of the mindless shit that happened with Michelle Forbes' character in a previous season. Ultra campy acting, directing, story, and effects.

Strange to me that you've watched this show for 4+ seasons with as much as you seem to dislike it.

All we need is a new cast, director, writer, and better/different special effects and this show is back, baby!

LOL, you forgot to blame everything on Alan Ball and say things should be exactly like the books too. (Which incidentally would probably cause even more complaining)

Directors and writers are always in regular rotation in TV. Better editing and post production crew isn't that farfetched. And from the threads here on gaf, most have complained about how shit Sookie and Tara is (aside from the one above me who has had a Tara avatar forever).

I think this was the weirdest episode of the series. Very unnerving. Almost all of the characters made some really bad decisions. Lots of pig headed behavior and short sightedness.

I liked the Pam & Tara scenes though.

You know you love to hate the show. So see you next week on your next hate watch.

This is crazy for cocoa puffs. Feeding on child vampires, point blank head shots that have no effect, decapitations, Eric and Bill piggy back ride, a laughing smoke monster from Lost doing a Hades from God of War 3 impression. And the kicker, FULL FRONTAL NUDITY without a hint of apprehensiveness or shame. I don't if any of it even matter, but it's sure as hell fun to watch.

Lilith is a hallucination that believers see after that drink the body of Chri...Lilith. I see what you're trying to do Alan Ball.

Goddamn... those were terrible Lilith special effects. :( Made even worse with the editing since the vamps are looking far into space/time at a drop of blood hitting the floor somewhere in space/time and then all of a sudden cutting to Lilith making her Mortal Kombat FMV debut on the center stage. Such a weird, weird sequence behind-the-scenes wise.

Was also expecting Tara to get up on Pam... not hug her.

Really, really hate that Hoyt totally just flip-flopped with Jessica and maybe vampires in general in like a matter of hours unless he's doing some undercover reconnaissance or something. If he's not... that's not a lapse of character judgment, that's just bad writing.

And I was on the edge of my seat watching Arlene and Terry's somehow touching wedding video on the lookout for some smoke ghost monster lol.

Hoyt. Get outta here.

Pam's hair is terrrrrible.

Lilith stuff was weird. Enjoyed seeing Eric giving Bill a piggy back ride.

"I aint never fucked a cow!" lol.

Yeah, Eric did drink some fairy blood. I forgot about that.

Hopefully they kill off Hoyt now that he's going down a dark path. We could use a few less characters.

You know, I've been on Hoyt's side this entire time, because what Jessica and Jason did to him was messed up and I think he has every right to be pissed off at both of them. But his behavior in this episode was just ridiculous.

Yes, Hoyt, Jessica was an ass for glamoring you and cheating on you and having sex with your best friend on the night you guys broke up, but that doesn't mean you should go and join a genocidal hate group and act like a jerk to every single person you speak to.

What they're doing with Hoyt is stupid. I completely understand that he's bitter and hurt, but the way he's been acting is totally at odds with his previously established character.

Unless he's trying to infiltrate and rat them out he has taken quite a 180* on his stance. Yet then again, all three of the characters in that triangle have suffered bad writing since it started.

They just killed a vampire right in front of him though.

Yeah forgot they killed the vamp that was feedin on him. In the scenes after it seemed like they didn't make it clear to him that they were going after all "supers". Regardless, you know he's gonna have a change of heart when it gets down to doin it himself. And writers 101 demands he be tasked to hurt by a super he knows, probably going the obvious route with Jessica.

the muslim line in the field by the captain was stupid. He should have used terrorist and have the same impact. Episode was crazy though.

There are racists and bigots in this world so I liked that line as it came off like what that character would say in real life in that situation after losing his cool. They're in the deep south remember.

Hey Paquin's redoing her X3 arc.
Now that I think about it, you're right! lol

:lol @ Bill riding on Eric's back.
That was one of the funniest moments I've seen on this show. :D But man it went dark sometimes, especially the last couple of minutes with the vampires attacking those people at that Karaoke place.

It felt weird seeing Russell hanging out together with Bill and Eric. Good to see Nora not in a cell or handcuffed. ;)

Lol at Martha calling Alcide "Rambo". I dig the wolf he's training with. She's pretty hot. And wow at how the conversation turned between Jason and Jessica. I can understand Jason's view on vampires now that he learned a vampire killed his parents. But damn, she attacks him and he shoots her in the damn head.

I wonder what'll happen with Lafayette's situation. I don't get why Don Bartolo's honey would make swiss cheese out of him? She didn't seem like she was there against her will. I guess she didn't want her child involved in any kind of sacrifice or something?
