True Blood Season 6 |OT| No One Lives Forever

Just watched the latest episode. Add me to the very few who actually enjoyed the funeral scenes. I thought it was a great backdrop to what was happening with the vampires. I'm really surprised by the reactions in this thread. You want fewer characters and fewer story lines, and you bitch and moan when it actually happens. There were exactly 2 things happening in the episode and you couldn't be bothered to watch one of them? And you claim it sucked when you didn't even watch it? Eh, I thought it was well done and reminiscent of earlier seasons when Bon Temps and the humans were an actual part of the show. That's what always made True Blood awesome. I liked the flashbacks especially.

Fucking loved that episode, bar the funeral nonsense. Was great fun.

I don't understand the end scene with Eric though. This makes me sad.

Seriously, there better be an endgame with Warlow though. Fucking hell.

Hoooolyy shieett when Eric ripped that guy's junk off and it was gushing blood like a faucet!!! omgomgomg and the camera kept lingering on the gushing blood spilling out onto the floor omg that was easily one of the most squirm inducing scenes I've ever seen. Holy shit.

Anyway, I thought that all of the speeches and flashbacks at Terry's funeral were quite touching. I appreciated the fact that the funeral was used to bring all of the non vampire characters together all in one place in an effort to make the plot feel more cohesive.

And Steve's send off was one of the best the show's ever done: "I love you Jason Stackhouse!!!" looool RIP Steve. I guess we'll never find out who his maker was...

Does anyone know the name of the song that played at the end? I thought that it fit very well with the sort of dreamlike ending involving Pam and Eric. I wonder where Eric is off to?

I always assumed that it was Russell that made Steve

And did anyone else pause next week's teaser? I saw Tara's mom hug holding a limp-looking Tara from behind while she cries and has blood on her hands. I don't even know if Tara even had more than 30 lines this whole season but would be a shame if she died...again.

it's about fucking time. Also: bringing in her mom at the funeral and putting her closest to the camera (bench sideshot) seems like explicit to make sure people remember she even exists.

this episode was a whole bunch of filler though. It does seem like they expected it be the end of the show, ending with that ComicCon spoiler and the tagline for the season:
by "killing" Sookie, thereby ending the show

Also, that "honolulu" scene came out of fucking nowhere and was only there to allow Hep-V to stay around.

kind of hoping Sarah will go on to bring bigger weapons to 'her fight'. With vampires walking in the daylight, that would be a direction for a next season to go.

Problem was that Terry sucked and the time spent to mourn him went on for multiple episodes culminating in 50% of one of them dedicated to it.

I thought the funeral stuff was boring only because the other stuff was so much fun. Wouldn't even mind the funeral stuff if it were just talking and whatnot, but the flashbacks were just meh to me.

Eric still the best on this show. Didn't really get the ending. Finale should be interesting.

I enjoyed the episode, obviously the "prison" stuff was the best so you kinda felt cheated every time it went back to the funeral, although I don't think the funeral was bad at all.

Pretty much my thoughts on this episode. Man I haven't posted in this thread in a long time, I blame the night shift I'm working. I liked the contrast between Terry's funeral and the compound with the vampires. Pretty gory episode, lol. And I actually thought Pam looked legit scary last night when she was ready to pounce on the shrink. Something about how her fangs were out and her eyes opened wide plus she had blood around her mouth. Sorry about no breaks in the paragraphs, I'm posting from my phone.

I really liked the episode too.
Terrys funeral was nice. The old lady there was funny and the flashbacks gave added a genuine emotional touch for me. The only other time in the WHOLE series when I ever felt more sad or sorry for a character, was when Hoyt left town and didnt remember who Jason was :'(
Now, the dick-tear may be the most violent thing Ive seen in a tv show ever. Even the violence in Game of Thrones hasnt been on that level IMO. I mean wow, what a way to die. I was actually RELIEVED when Bill stomped his head in. That was a mercy killing, as far as I was concerned. lol

I mostly liked the funeral, though I do think that could have cut some of it.

Steve Newlin's "I love you Jason Stackhouse" was the best last line ever.

I don't know what is up with Eric.

I also liked the funeral part... Terry was not the deepest character in TB, but I always liked him and Arlene. So it had some nice emotional scenes (especially Sookie's testimony).
And yeah... the other part of the episode was also pretty good. Enough gore and a bunch of tripping vampires. Cool stuff :)

Overall it's (once again) an OK season. TB never excelled for me (maybe season 1), but it was also (imo) never bad. Hopefully they step their game up to end on a really high note.

DId I miss something? I thought there were only a few (Pam, Tara, Jessica + new boytoy etc) who didn't drink the True Blood and were put into the room, but at the end there were a few randoms dancing with the main guys?

You think we'll finally see Warlow's true colors in the final episode? Obviously there will be a stand-off between him and Bill. It's time for Bill to go and it's time to see what the fuck Warlow's made of. Can't believe they've done fuck all with him all season. :lol If they kill him off after this immense waste then god damn...

the funeral and vamp stuff felt far too disconnected. this episode was really sloppy.

I skipped all the funeral/flashback stuff other than Sookie's + Lafayette's bit, I didn't miss anything did I?

edit; and when are they going to do something with warlow, he hasn't done shit for ages

The rest of the funeral stuff is all just Terry's backstory. It's heartwarming and interesting, but nothing pivotal to the plot.

And the season finale most likely. My guess is he's going to have a showdown with Bill that will be the cliffhanger into next season.

Two things

-When did Alcide start getting a grey beard
-I don't like how inconsistent they are with how vampires act around sookie. Some times she smells amazing but then other times they treat her as a normal person

It's based on her menstruation cycle.

This season has been pretty bad as of now, but seriously the deaths have been incredible.
Steve Newlin's probably the best in the entire series. Few times I laughed this much watching a drama series. Simply genius.
I also loved the gore in the last few episodes. The Governor's head scene was great and in this one the cock one left me speechless. For a series which is probably followed mostly by teen girls, it was really violent. Loved it.
Also Big John > the rest of the characters.
Really curious about the ending though, I hope a few more major characters will perish (it's time to lose Sam).
