Well, they've got me, and I'll keep watching this stupid show but I'm glad it's only 10 episodes this season. I always feel like their plots take too long to resolve and are never really that satisfying.

This show was never a super serious, mature drama. I'm not sure why you all are continuing to watch it and whine about it if you don't like it.

I can't believe I'm about to say this...

...this was a GREAT episode.

I thought I was about done caring about Sookie's fairy crap, but Fairy Grandfather and the future Warlow confrontation have got me intrigued.

It seems like they're making Alcide a bad guy this season, which is about the only thing they could do to make him interesting.

Vampire politics weren't dull this week.

Billith occupying the motivational gray area. Is he going to save vampire kind, or bring about the end?

They're setting up the stakes really nicely so far. Everything seems so grim. Damnit, as far as pacing and setting up a plot goes, this might be the best opening True Blood's had since season 2.

The same reason they keep watching Dexter and shitting all over it in the Dexter OT's. It's NeoGAF; if it's not GoT, The Wire, or Breaking Bad it's the worst thing evarrr.

Good except for the wolves which have now tainted Sam's story.

I'm really glad that Rutger Hauer was not Warlow, but generic white half-fairy dude that Sookie found has to be Warlow in disguise. Finding him on the side of the road is way too convenient even for this show.

I really wish Jason was a little more conflicted about his vampire hate.

Yea, half-fairy dude is most likely Warlow. I'm still thinking he's a fae/vampire hybrid especially given his ability to walk in sunlight.

Alcide's behavior towards Sam seemed completely out of character; I understand he's the Alpha now, but his yelling like a dumbass was terrible.

I hope that Eric flew away, Eric flew away. Poor planning by the military team leading him away. Now that Bill knows what is coming it's time for him to correct it.

I really have high hopes for this season, I love the idea of an all out war between humans and vampire. With how bad the last couple of seasons have been though I'm sure it will disappoint.

New episode tonight:
lol the last 10 seconds of babyvamp jessica was the best part, not really sure anymore the wers snd shifters are a waste of screen time, seems and feels like most of the actors acting is wayyy shitter than before, at this rate Id be ok if this is the last season
have to say though the way Billl killed that human was awesome

Yeah they definitely didn't know vampires can fly. I don't think they know that much at all really, despite what the Governor said.

So Sookie learned how to do the spirit bomb?

I've just reached my breaking point. I should've stopped watching this crap years ago.

Put me in the tiny camp who is loving this season so far. Really enjoyed the latest episode and the mood of this season is way more grim than I predicted (and pretty fucked up at times by True Blood standards). There is no way that there won't be some major deaths as well. I also predict that next season will go in a new direction to some degree as a result of some big cast shake-up in this one.

I can't see Sookie ending up using her nuclear bomb on Warlow. We know she wants to be normal (which is what the one-use policy grants her) but the story's gonna lead her to having to use it on Bill I reckon. He will only become more dangerous as Lilith keeps butting in to his mind. They'll find some other way to kill Warlow.

Regarding that Onion review, this part really summed up the human threat angle, as well as my surprise:

When he (Eric) goes to the Governor’s mansion and tricks his way into a meeting with the man himself, with the obvious purpose of glamouring all of the Governor’s horrible policies away, there’s no reason to think it won’t work and this whole endeavor wasn’t just another one of True Blood’s missed opportunities to tell a more interesting story. But something wonderful happens: It doesn’t work.

I actually expected Eric to be successful with his glamouring. Had a shit-eating grin on my face when it turns out it's useless. We're starting to see a legitimate threat to vampires for the first time in this entire show now and that's most welcome.

Bill's foresight will no doubt aid the cast up to a certain point but what he saw at the end might well be pulled off to some degree I think. Obviously can't underestimate the Governor now.
